Ustec:The appropriate word here should have been Leadership by example. They should cut off all the bogus allowances and serve as a civil servant on the same payroll and let's see if others won't support them. |

Sorry, but I don't agree with you.. ASUU is doing this for a selfish interest.. However if ASUU work for council and not government, are they paid by Council? What you said about tax is not true. National housing scheme is not fradulant and it also exists. All these na brain washing from your ASUU chairperson.. AniwetaluEmma: |

Ikeja electric bill just landed. Sept 2020. 18k plus. Since the government is removing her hands from everything. I think they should just allow parents to start paying tution fees in universities. E.g the sum of 400k for a start will be good, such that even the professor's can't send their children to school. I think this is the way forward. 400k for social sciences and Art 500K for the sciences and Engineering and 600-800k for those intending to study Medical courses and Law. This will be very good on the Nigerian worker on a minimum wage of 30k. ASUU should encourage government to do what they want but are hiding under disguise. Maybe that will make the system fuctional and they will have funds to fix the Universities. The #Endtutionfees protest that will follow will make #endsarsachildsplay. |

maryjames9:This is an excellent analysis of this ASUU strike. Everyone knows that the COVID-19 pandemic has devastated economies of countries all over the world. Nigeria university lecturers should be thankful that they have jobs that pay every month. Many private university lecturers in Nigeria have not received any salary since March; some of the salaries are about half of what is paid in Federal universities. This is a wrong time to be doing strike. |

Good move by the FG.. . I'm surprise this gullible Union are still under payroll... FG should take the November deadline very serious this time... |

MT:As an IT person.. How many years does it take to tweak a software cos ASUU pointed out this issues since 2013..? Enrollment of the Tertiary education sector started November last year.. Why hasn't this been done? By your submission, you are simply implying the FG is on a deliberate course to sabotage the education sector, else they did take into cognisance the issues causing industrial crisis.. You better sit this one out and stop claiming what you are obviously not.. |
| Re: FG Stops Salaries Of University Workers Not Enrolled On IPPIS by jmaine: 4:49pm On Oct 11, 2020 |
amerengues:You spoke very well bro.. However, I am of the opinion ASUU should jettison all pro students struggles like Increase in school fees and revitalization, and focus solely on welfare... The culture of being insulted simply because the students are too myopic in their views of a better education system has to end.. Let the FG increase the school fees to a minimum of 350k as they plan.. We will teach them under trees if that is what it will take to mind our business squarely... |

jmaine:All these are excuses. Get on board and they will work on the other uncaptured requirements(if any). Software evolves that's why we have different versions. We have seen through ASUU deceit. It's a corrupt union pretending to fight for the interest of the students. Now the hen has come home to roost. Most of the so- called professors and PhD holders are not sound and I wonder what they lecture the students. We need total overhaul. Fg should develop ball of steel, advertise their positions if they refuse to comply. I won't debate my professionalism with you, your choice mister. |

MT:Nonsense.. Still parroting what has proven to be a baseless points. We have gone pass this infantile rant as yours... When next the FG is advertising, apply for the post of a professor, and make sure you are harmed with the necessary publications in reputable international journals as expected. Some of you simply use the anonymity of social media to chat bullshit. |

[quote author=MasterRahl post=94823914] ![]() Bubu is not a lousy president. He rarely talks, rarely addresses issues, and rarely debates. However, when it is time to take decisions, he does so without flinching. And in many cases, the decisions are irreversible. One can compare him to Louis XIV who reigned in France from 14 May 1643 until his death in 1715. When Bubu declared at the National Assembly during the 2021 budget presentation that no lecturer who hasn't registered under the IPPIS will be paid, I knew our lecturers are in for a long thing. I mean, he said it with his own mouth. The situation at hand is quite dicey. Way back in 2012/2013, Jonathan sat for 13 hours with ASUU leadership and signed an agreement. That was the first time a President will sit with ASUU. However, I don't understand why that agreement wasn't implemented to the fullest. ASUU has two options: [b]1. They can put their back to the walls, and fight this fight to the end. This will put an end to the incessant strikes.[/bthe billions Jonathan gave them nkor...was it Kent to buy pepper soup? |

jmaine:I knew your ilk. I knew you would crack and spew rubbish under intense searchlight. You couldn't make reasonable argument without being insulting. It shows the quality of education which you have been exposed to. I don't need to apply for the position of a Professor but I can tell you majority of you guys are paper tigers. Show me the impact you have made in your field and I will show you mind blowing projects I have used my skill set to lead. Universities should always be the bridge between the gown and the town, today, the town just sees your citadels as "mere institutions" where students go to after passing their JAMB. You should be bothered. You should be concerned and ashamed that you have failed to make a reasonable impact in the sector where you frustratingly find yourself. And let it be clear, I was properly educated and trained by the best hands in my industry in a saner clime. Let that sink in. |
