They'll be able to open bank accounts in YOUR name which can be used for fraud

They can also take out loans in your name and leave you on the hook to pay

BUT....

Some banks require confirmation before your BVN can be used so you're mostly safe
Sha it's not all banks like that

I guess

well they can not steal money directly with your bvn but they can use it to get all bank account linked to the bvn.

with this, they can do inside job if they have connections with an inside man especially if you are a target. so they can track your banking activities with an inside man from your various bank accounts .

Be careful about giving out your BVN or bank details please.
Most Nigerian youths have become internet bank robbers. It's as bad as that.
Be guided even at the ATM points.

Very possible if you lost your sim and a scammer have access to it.

With just your BVN, it's not possible... Your BVN is in many places, it's not as if it's really hidden/secret

Someone already explained about opening an account and collecting loans through it, but there's verification now... Even digital banks like Palmpay now request for verification

So, in very simple answer, No, one cannot steal your money because they have access to your BVN
