IamAnderson:
Kendra littered 9 pups a few days ago but 3 came out stillborn sad
6 pups are still alive right now
3males and 3 females

The whelping wasn't easy, she littered from about 7pm till like 3am.
And there was a complication during the whelping, 2 puppies got tangled inside with their umbilical cord.
She was trying to pull them out herself but to no avail so I had to act fast.
I rushed and grabbed a pair of scissors and used a gas stove to disinfect it and cooled it under a tap.
I then put my hand and the scissors inside her vulva and dug around hoping I wouldn't cut her in the process, when I felt the cord I cut blindy and the pup fell out and fortunately they were both safe. This Thing happened 2x that night and there wasn't any injury or casualty to both pup or mum.

Ah! You are smart and alert!

Nah these wahalas dey make me avoid female dog. cry I no even get the time sef

IamAnderson:

you want your dog to be dog aggressive?
that's not something you should wish for bro, if that dog is grown and it attacks someone else's dog can you hold it back?.
didn't you see that video that circulated online in I think Lagos that some guys were walking a Caucasian and boerbel and a girl was walking her sister's Lhasa and the 2 big dogs tore the Lhasa apart for no reason?.
the girl was crying and begging them to hold their dogs that her sister was going to kill her but they couldn't even stop them.
dog aggression is not cute and it can put you in trouble, you should be happy your dog ignores random dogs on the road.
LOL, I LOVE MY DOGS XTRA AGGRESSIVE

Good morning fams, pls I need help on my dogs, how do I deal with tick. I travel and I didn't know I'll be staying long, no one to care for them and now I'm battling with tick. What's the way forward
Re: Diary of my Caucasian Roscoe by nairamaniac: 9:19pm On Jan 17, 2021
IamAnderson:

true, or if the dog must be big, gsd is the best option.
neighbours will most likely get scared of mastiffs and CO when they're older and it may cause problems between then and the neighbors.
a gsd is a more popular breed and it's size is just okay so they won't really feel threatened.
in my area people liked Roscoe when he was younger but now he's an adult if I walk him people will run and lock door and gate so I can't move with him I'm the daytime again.
if I was staying in a compound with people they would've asked me to sell him, I'm sure of it.
my former dog which was a gsd didn't get that kind of bad reception tho, people felt more comfortable with "police dog"

Pls what's your definition of a police dog?

I actually used "police dog" to refer to what people usually call gsds

it's surprising that u didn't even start the thread with an intent to make it as detailed as it finally panned out.

u happen to be also very experienced on the job. I guess u apply loads of stuffs you study online and from other people's experiences.

Okay I'm back, I know I promised to update some time ago but I wasn't able to because both Roscoe and I fell sick.
This is the first time Roscoe has fallen sick since he was born so I was scared a bit, he was vomiting and stooling and refused to eat for about a week sad
I was also sick during this period too, so treating myself and also Roscoe was hard.
At first what everyone was telling me was that it was parvo but I didn't think it could be parvo, so I put him on antibiotics, multivitamin injections and also flagyl and dewormed him.
I also fumigated his sleeping areas and gave him several baths to kill every ectoparasite or pathogens that could cause infections.
It has been a week since I started treatment and I'm happy to say that he has recovered, his weight has gone up and he's active again.
I have also recovered from my own sickness also smiley
So he's all good now, when he's strong again he'll get vaccinated asap

Last year after the Christmas holidays, vigil(Roscoe's son) came for a one month stay at my place with Roscoe grin
Vigil was a handful just like how Roscoe was at that age, he caused a lot of damage and commotion with his mischief cheesy
At a point, I wasn't freeing him anymore except I was there with him, when he's alone, I leave him on a long chain.
Roscoe also got tired of him because he was always barking at him and following him around to hump him, he could barely reach Roscoe's body but it didn't stop him, he'll still jump and try to climb him cheesy
I also had another dog with me that period which has been sold right now, a female black German Shepherd that vigil was always attacking, she was an adult dog but vigil was always challenging and trying to attack her so they never got along unlike Roscoe and vigil.
The German Shepherd had to stay locked up somewhere throughout his stay because she was also pregnant so no fights actually occurred between them.

I took him out for socialization walks and introduced him to other dogs and people too.
There was a day that a female dog came for mating with Roscoe along with her puppy that was also older than vigil so I let him spend some time with them so he'd warm up to the presence of other dogs.
It was when Roscoe was mating with the female that vigil watched them and started humping every dog and person after, I think he was imitating them or something cheesy

Overall, vigil was a nice puppy, anytime I took him on walks or people came to my house for dog related things they were always admiring him and asking about buying him.

He stayed for about a month and left around January, this was him at 13 weeks shortly after he came wink
