Hope you used WS oil for refil
Re: Help With My Lexus Es 350 by TheNewAgeFarmer(m): 2:44pm On Oct 13, 2020
We are yet to fix the problem. The part cost 38k. We are going to buy that now. I wasted money buying oil 5litres of ws for 20k and I will have to buy extra 4litres of oil to complete the job. The problem is I don’t know if this will solve the problem!.

Which part... You should have bough 2 of the 4L ... since you are draining and refilling... it won't even take all the 8L lets say 7.5 Litre it will take... I don't understand the part you wanna buy... do tell

Which part are you buying?
Is it the filter?
The filter should have been changed as part of the drain and refill process.

Had a similar issue to yours two weeks ago. Was travelling with a 2010 rav4. Transmission started slipping and I got the p0776 code with one other code for abs.

Stopped at ore, bought ws fluid (5 litres), washed filter and replaced fluid. Drove the car down to the east with a small whine coming from the transmission.

Replaced filter and fluid after I got to the east and transmission is shifting perfectly again and the whine is gone.

In the absence of codes, try the above. If it fails, I guess everything else being done is guess work.

Scan brought p2757. I did change the oil and nothing good came out of it. So I scanned and that code pop up.

That code popped up and the mechanic said he needed body value or so. I am buying another 4l to make it 8litres.

Just watched a youtube video about code p2757. Looks like a simple fix. I don't know how you guys arrived at oil replacement of 5L. What does your car manual say. Please go watch that video and play active role in the repair of your vehicle.

its a simple fix. Firstly I didn’t scan because the first workshop said scanning is 10k and wanted to use a fake unrecommended oil. So I asked my Mech to change the oil, we bought 4l and 1l for 20k. After oil change problem didn’t solve. My Mech then took me to a Transmission specialist, he drove the car and came up the problem, but I insisted on scan. We scanned and got same problem. Bottom plate was opened and oil drained, paid for the part 38k. He said I will need another 4l of oil to make it 8litres since bottom plate was opened. I will check up on him later today.

that is too much oil. Check online for the recommended volume of oil to use.

Let's ignore the advisers and the car owners. They don't wish to take corrections.

I've stated the volume of oil and others but they don't give a fly about the advice neither do they give a damn about what Toyota FSM states.
Re: Help With My Lexus Es 350 by TheNewAgeFarmer(m): 7:50am On Oct 14, 2020
What’s your advice?. Someone just gave me one and I said i will look into it. If i am not ready to take advice I won’t come here seeking for some. So please drop your advice and it will be looked into it. Thank you.

Why stressing yourself over someone known to have low self esteem?

Was even surprised he didn't use [s][/s] to strike out post of anyone here as usual but he has eventually done that by saying advisers and car owners be ignored.

What a shame! !!

very simple issue. A tech that can do good diagnosis will fix this easily.

My Es 350 2007 doesn't engage when on REVERSE and the Drive wasn't smooth. This happened very close to my house and the car has been parked since yesterday. Gear oil has never been changed. Car is in Benin city and was bought in August. The issue started yesterday after more than one month of smooth driving. Any competent mech in Benin city should quote me!.

Isn't it rather pathetic of you to keep bearing grudges in mind when you and I have no connection whatsoever with each other and have never had anything to do with each other in the past and now?
Deal with your problems dude I've been ignoring you and will continually do.
Re: Help With My Lexus Es 350 by kingreign(m): 12:06pm On Oct 14, 2020

OP, have a competent technician check if your transmission oil sump has been dented inwards, If yes, it should be removed and beaten out. Also, I'd suggest you allow a highly competent technician do a scan, drain and refill of that transmission fluid using the genuine WS at the right quantity.

FYI, if you're only draining and refilling, pls the right quantity of fluids lexus/toyota recommends is 2.5L and no more and its a very stringent process involved in doing this.

For a 2007 ES350 is prone to transmissions failure and I feel it's what's happening to yours also.

Look what I suggested for you.

Go and work on yourself so that you will be free from low self esteem and other things always tormenting you.

I just want to say a big thank you to everyone.

Something happened at the workshop today. The Mech wanted to use engine oil in replacement of transmission oil, his reason was that, there is no starch in transmission oil, it’s not thick enough. But I insisted on using Toyota WS AT FLUID. The engine oil he wanted to use in replacement of transmission oil is VISCO 2000. One thing is, the young man has lots of jobs at hand.

I also showed him videos on how to gauge the transmission oil on youtube, he refused the idea that he has gauged it.

For now the car drives well, no free road to count the gear.

Cost of repair;
Part: 38,000
Scan: 2,000
Gum and fuel: 1000
Workmanship: 17,000
Transmission: two 4L x2 30,000, 1L 5,000.
Total: 92,000

Can you imagine trying to use nigerian engine oil on a transmission. That would have just sent your transmission to death. If you are technically inclined a bit and listen to these mechanics, you will understand why a car will be very ok after 10years of use abroad but will die within 5 years in Nigeria. I do my troubleshooting and minor repairs myself these days. For major repairs, I do the troubleshooting, source the parts and supervise the mechanic. Cars have become sophisticated for the ordinary uneducated Kazeem.
Earlier this year, my car overheated while on traffic in Ikeja, took the car to this kazeem and he said I should remove thermostat, change radiator, connect fan direct and other rubbish suggestions that would have made me waste a lot of money. I did the troubleshooting and repairs myself. Guess what I changed - radiator cover. 10 months later, I haven't experienced another overheating.
If you are technically inclined, download the workshop manual of your car. Take time to consult it when you have issues before going to these car killers.
