Thanks for the info, however, you were not that specific about whether you travelled to nja without headaches. I can Google things but this forum is better that Google when we get Adobe from people with experiences rather that bland info online.

It is not acceptable! But people get away with all sorts. Also, there are reports of fake covid tests in Nja - all these does not help our reputation and perceptions from folks from other countries.

Actually, the travel that we are anticipating could be avoided if we can find any responsible adult preferably female to help bring a 6 year old girl over to Manchester or any airport in the UK...

Yes, it is possible to sort it out before arrival but both landlords and agencies ask for deposit so you won't be able to avoid paying it.

If you are looking to sort it out while in Nigeria, it's better to go through a reputable agency just to be on the safe side.

On the other hand, maybe you should consider, Airbnb or B&B for a few days post arrival then go look at the properties before making payment. You can book viewings and all that the week/few days before arrival.

If you have mandated passengers to do one 96 hours to arrival. Why charge them to repeat it in Nigeria. So the one abroad is not good enough ehnn. The whole system needs change not just SARS

The first time my family member actual paid for the private test because I saw a post here that said it wasn't or might not be allowed based on info during time of repatriation flights.

On getting to airport on the 7th Sept , 2 days after international airport was opened. We got there with the private test only to see others with the free NHS test. That was absolutely fine ..... been there twice since then and it's been NHS test . Allowed with no single word .

First flight we used the private and it was fine as well so anyone can pay £150 and use that as well. We used citydoc website which I saw on this thread . . . Both private and free NHS test are accepted for flights to Nigeria so feel free to use private

One test in Nigeria at N50,400 is fair....... If you paid for 2 covid19 test, that's almost £300 on covid19 test alone...... Utter nonsensical.......

Google lists them all (as long as they are in the UK) for you to select which you prefer.

I used NHS. You don't have to if you find it risky

It is not just the cost of travel that is the issue, it is the possibility that things might go wrong and become stressful and even more costly.

It is also very difficult to go to Nigeria from r a short period of time - let's say 9 days or less... 7 days to self isolate and then go and do a mandatory Nja test and then travel out; given that the second test is negative...

How long does the Nja test take to get a result?

That guy called Aliu or something said the reason for the second test is because they noticed that people were coming in with covid picked up after the test or during flight (not likely picked up in Nja).
To be fair, Covid is an imported phenomenon in Nja, most locals are covid free or immuned in some ways. The high profile deaths have been of abroad travellers...
I don't want to pay for a second test but that is the rule. On the NHS test, it might accepted but it is frown upon by the NHS and the UK government... It is kind of not morally right because it adds to the bottleneck of testing and dealing with covid in this country... My tuppence!

I believe the test is after a couple of days of arrival. I agree that it is expensive and shouldn't be except if the test is free.

The wider question is - : How are you even sure that all those covid19 private test centres, are actually conducting the tests?

For all I care, they could be collecting multiple swabs, dumping them in the yellow bin and simply issuing a FTF certificate.........
