It matters a lot.
Reason:
So many churches are reserviour for hell fire. Though they still shout Jesus, their Jesus maybe different from the one you innocently know. Their teachings and practices are at variance with biblical truth.

And of course, they allow you to go on with "life" after all, "once saved, forever save'. They allow all kinds of lifestyle, including indecent dressing, etc.

More so, they look the other way on the shortcomings of the brethren. No form of discipline.

The worst is that, the above had found its way into the Church of Christ - those preparing souls for the Kingdom. Most of our Pastors are after financial members. They do not care about what sought of job the brother/sister is doing provided he pays his tithe, gives bountiful offerings and support the church projects. Oh! that's a member in good standing!

May God help us.

Well put.

Fantastic!

May the Lord remember today and grant you ALL your heart desire in Jesus precious name.

Very funny. There are so many "ise" or "eto" in the Bible. Even baba adeboye do "ise" for people. Do you know that baba adeboye once sent handkerchief to someone who was dead and the handkerchief was laid on the dead man to raise him up?

Are they not using anointing oil in your church for healing? Is that not "ise"?

Jesus used saliva and clay to heal someone.

Jesus asked them to fetch water and he turned it to wine.

Read 2Kings 13: 17 to 18 and you will see a good example of "ise" there.

Dividing of the red sea was also an "ise" grin

Well... You may be sincere but may be sincerely wrong.

1) I am not a member of RCCG but Pastor Adeboye is a general in the body of Christ. He will NEVER make a DOCTRINE on sending handkerchief every now and then.

In few instances you sited above are one-off situations which happened via leading of God. No Servants of God should make that a doctrine.

2) Anything Jesus Christ and his immediate lieutenants(Apostles) did NOT do, we cannot do it. Afterall, we called ourself Christians

To me, it doesn't matter so long as the church confesses Jesus Christ as the Son of God.

God will never judge anyone based on your church. He will judge you based on your personal relationship with him.

I've seen many C&S churche members that refuse to stain themselves with sin, while I've seen members of RCCG and even winners that eat sin like it is snacks.

Judge by yourself, will God now judge them based on their churches? Never!

Please leave your current Church and go to Indabosky's Church.

After all, Church no matter.

If you attend a Church and your Pastor is an "Ayamatanga", tell me if it is not that spirit he will be imparting on you every Sunday!

I beg to disagreed. What baba did was not "ise" it was simply demonstration of Gods power. What Christ did also . Not doing babalawo work. Going to collect charms from babalawo to heal church members.

For some reasons, if I'm to resume attending churches, I will chose amongst Christ Embassy, Covenant Christian Centre or House on the Rock.

You are a dumb Christian that thinks he is right. Do you know there are people in Church of Christ that serv God more faithfully than your pastors? Boy, stop being stupid.
By their fruits, you will know them. And this is the kind of "Christian" we're talking about. They are open to all forms of doctrines to practice them, calling on the name of God but in their heart they are filled with filth.

God have mercy!

That is simply one opinion.

Churches that preach such are also preaching from the bible.

If you have ever spent the time to read your bible you will realize that God called Paul and Barnabas to the uncircumcised. And all they have to do is have Faith in Christ and they are seated with Christ in heavenly places. Not of works but Faith.

Galatiana 2:7 But contrariwise, when they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision was committed to me, as the gospel of the circumcision was to Peter;

Who are you to judge them when the log in your eyes is far bigger. Only you know your own sins.

Not judging any? I acknowledge quite well my sinful nature and how condemned I stand before God save for the blood of Jesus Christ that was shed for the remission of my sin.

Howbeit, you cannot be a member of a group (Church) where their practices are not at par with the gospel or do not care about the spiritual affairs of their members and you tell me you are better.

Where in the bible did jesus condemn rituals. Do you even know what "rituals" mean? A ritual is not necessarily diabolical or unchristlike.
WILLuKPquiet:

You are not far wrong as you made a point though.
Church matters very very much. Lots of Churches are dens of Satan. Their foundation is evil and many preach heresies.

Where in the Bible did Jesus support rituals. They would tell you we will do "Eto" for you. Sometimes they call it "ise" (work)

They take women to the streams to bath for them. Give them soaps and all manner to use.

Church matters. And before you can know if your Church is genuine, you would be rooted in the word yourself.

Remain blessed.

Ofcourse it's a demonstration of God's power. cheesy. Na you know which work be demonstration of God's power, which wan no be one. On the issue of
rooting your doing in Biblical teachings, did Jesus ever use handkerchiefs to heal anyone? How do you know which works are specific to Babalawo? You don visit Babalawo before ni? I beg if you wanna make your point, stay one place. cheesy. Pastors overseeing RCCG parishes go to babalawos to collect charms too, so what was is your point?

The words you hear from the MOG should have a role to play in your spiritual life otherwise why go to church?
Some just don't have anything to say, so why bother to go there in the first place?

In as much as we should all view the body of Christ as one and we shouldn't condemn any church of God. I believe that, everyone has a ministry to which they will fit into perfectly. Therefore, before becoming the member of any church, pray about it and listen to the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Quite right, and we might as well forget those religions and focus more the words of Jesus himself:

John 3:5-7 KJV
Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

[6] That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

[7] Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

Peace with you.

Friend, Jesus is the only way; the truth and the life. Many professing Christians are terribly lost; hence, they're worse than Muslims. It's been almost six years since I stopped going to church, cos even great Pastors or Church founder are not following Jesus but Money and popularity. I respect men like Paul which are extremely few.

Peace with you.

The Church you worship at matters a lot in your spirituality. The bible said that Faith comes from hearing. Whatever you hear determines your beliefs and subsequently determines your faith. So many so called Christians swallow the words of their false pastors hook and sinker. What do you expect from this class of people?
Any church that seldom/doesn't preach salvation but dwells on the prosperity message, should not be attended.

the church guild protect and nourish it's members.

aviod church that won't change your bad character to a good one aviod church that don't preach repentance aviod church that women do wear trousers and other jewelry stuff.

look for a Bible believing church and having said all this.

YOU MUST REPENT FROM YOUR SINS AND GIVE YOUR LIFE TO JESUS.

Re: Does The Church I Attend Matter? by xproducer: 6:25pm On Oct 18, 2020
While we should not forsake "the assembling of ourselves together" - Hebrews 10:25, the main emphasis should be on one's own personal relationship with the Lord JESUS!

"Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him." - John 14:23

"And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!” - Galatians 4:6

-------

"Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, And for His wonderful works to the children of men!" - Psalm 107:8
