The virus needs a few days to cook inside your system before a test can pick it. So if you travel today with a test done yesterday, on getting to Nigeria, you’ll still be negative even though you’ve been exposed. Symptoms show after 5-7 days of exposure (less for people with poor immune system) and non existent symptom for people with amazing immune system.

That guy called Aliu or something said the reason for the second test is because they noticed that people were coming in with covid picked up after the test or during flight (not likely picked up in Nja).
To be fair, Covid is an imported phenomenon in Nja, most locals are covid free or immuned in some ways. The high profile deaths have been of abroad travellers...
I don't want to pay for a second test but that is the rule. On the NHS test, it might accepted but it is frown upon by the NHS and the UK government... It is kind of not morally right because it adds to the bottleneck of testing and dealing with covid in this country... My tuppence!

100% agreed, and yet, we blame SARS, Buhari etc. The only Covid test I have done was the free one sent to me by the ONS. The idea of lying simply to get tested is disgusting. I know how my colleagues working in frontline NHS roles struggled and failed to get a test when they were exposed at work.

There are Covid-19 fitness to fly tests available via private labs. Pay the money and get tested.

I now regret going down this route with this conversation... Let's drop it before we do more reputational damage or even get the UK government to put a stop to the loophole... But if other nationalities are so doing, the same; you can just imagine... Best wishes to everyone. How? Is that not why they said the test should be done after a couple of days to account for the incubation period? It'snot like they are waiting at the airport to take your swab for testing.

I think it actually makes sense to retest few days after arrival as a lot can happen between tests, even on the flight.
