Many southerners are really ignorant.

All the lootings all happened in their states, their pastors encouraged them.

They destroyed their land.

Never ever follow the crowd

This is my personal opinion of what I think is going on right now. First of all, the end is very near for Ahmed Tinubu, it has been mistake after mistakes all in his quest to be in the good books of the powers that be from the North.

The Lekki massacre was a perfectly orchestrated plan to weaken BAT. There was a prison break and civil unrest in Edo state, Obaseki wasn’t called out and no army battalion was sent to the street, the parts of Lagos with no business connections to Tinubu also suffered unrest and soldiers weren’t sent there either, but a peaceful group of protesters at the Lekki toll gate, widely rumored to be part owned by a Tinubu controlled company gets a visit from an army battalion and people where killed.

So here is what I think happened: Tinubu was tricked into agreeing to allow soldiers be used to disperse the protesters at the toll gate, probably with assurances it will be properly executed but those who reached out to him with this plan do not care about dispersing the protesters, their plan was to go there, kill a few people, injure many and let the people turn on the man who’s interest they think the army was there to protect. A man of Tinubu’s wealth can’t be affected by losing a few millions due to the toll gates closure for a few days but due to Tinubu’s eagerness to always be in the good books of the North he eagerly agreed with them and an attack was carried out on his own people.
Now his businesses interests are being attacked, his popularity among his own people is at an all time low, and considering he isn’t exactly popular anywhere outside the SW, if he loses Lagos like those who keep leading him on from Abuja are planning, his political dynasty is dead and buried, he had a good run though.

The consequences of all this is that once again outside forces have used Yorubas to destroy one of their own. An Army battalion who are not answerable to anyone but their commander in chief who is the president attacked a group of protesters and somehow a man who has held no political office for decades is somehow being regarded as the primary culprit. The Northerners are sitting this out at least publicly like the sly strategists they are but the Easterners are cheering on publicly and calling for Tinubu’s properties to be burnt down while CSP Nwafor who killed hundreds of youths and dumped them in a river is still roaming free, Peter Obi who was governor of that state at that time is their preferred candidate for president and the angel who for them will turn Nigeria into heaven, they are quick to criticize the Yoruba’s and their leaders but shield theirs even when they commit the most brazen of crimes.

Yoruba’s slandering Tinubu remember when your enemy is cheering you on when you’re doing something, you should probably stop and rethink what you’re doing. I drop my pen.

Tinubu even boasted of how he rigged osun election including MC oluomo.

Tinubu was the sole cooker of his own failure.

You op cook up your consiracy..this Yoruba boy from osun saw what power hungry tinubu did in osun with MC oluomo.

My curse on him will never depart him. Tinubu is part of political class. He is not my father.

That God father must die. A new age for the youth has come
I am being realistic here bro, dead that your youth will lead idea. I want it but realistically it can not happen.

Do you know how much it costs to win an election in this country? Even ordinary house of rep? You need very very deep pockets, and the only young people who can compete with this rich old men are children of politicians who are beneficiaries of the corrupt system or those with godfathers who will be mere puppets of their godfathers.

I am looking at this purely from the angle of realism, we will be trading one godfather for another, tinubu will be brought down not by the masses but by his political rivals who will use the masses, once he is down, they will step in and be the new godfathers, the masses will be right back where we started.

My point is don’t make the mistake of thinking this is about the people because it is not! The people are merely pawns in the hands of political dynasties trying to outmaneuver each other.

Cmon lets get real Peter Obi was Governor, admit you have a soft spot for him, nothing wrong with that. Hundreds of dead bodies show up in a river and you tell me the governor of that who state sanctioned nobody has nothing to do with it. If we found hundreds of dead bodies in the Lagos lagoon you wouldn’t be this kind to sanwo olu.
You see your fooly. Someone in 2014 from southern Nigeria Negotiated onbehalf of his tribe and the south for a nothern candidate to emegerge. People took him as a leader and when he resorted to silence obviously animosity started loading.

Last year Ipob attacked their highest leader in goverment Ekreremadu and most of your folks calll it IGBO DISREPECT THEIR ELDERS.

Every southerner has every right to call up Tinubu because there iis no one in the South that led Buhari to power bigger than Him from the south.

Leave Peter Obi from your tribalism, He is an opposition and if Tinubu said half of what Obi has spoken about this goverment policy am sure no one will be at his troath.

The thugs vandalising his properties are same thug he uses for election and control. Look beyond tribalism and see that the southern youth againt their old men forming jagbadan upon the lives of their youth. I know this one is beyond your understanding. But see it that IPOB lost more lives than thislast year and they have been beaten back so dont expect them to fall out.

Obviously the fight will reach every southern leader and no igbo leader will be an exemption.

the northerners are not sitting anything out. Why do our people always make things about Igbos? Which igbo person has publicly hailed the attacks on Tinubu? Non. Please show me a confirmed Igbo person that has done so? Not faceless nairaland commentators!!

However, meyatti Allah has released at least two statements since these protests started, blaming everything on Tinubu! See how you carefully forgot that and went after your usual scapegoats, the igbos!

I got about two very funny emails accusing me of being a tribalist. I guess some people misunderstood what point I was making on this thread.

1. Tinubu was played. He knew about the deployment of soldiers but there was no way he would have consented to the level of brutality meted out on the protesters that night because Lagos is his turf and he knows he will be blamed. They probably told him they will scare off the protesters but the plan was to kill a few people knowing he will be blamed and leave the scene and let the people turn on him. The fact that the protesters where there till morning proves my theory right that they just wanted to kill a fee people and stop. If the army wanted to clear out that space that night, more soldiers will be deployed and it will have been done.

2. A lot of Igbo's hate Tinubu, they cheer for his destruction under the guise of he was responsible for the Lekki massacre but they really just hate him. They do not call out their own politicians who have a more direct negative influence on them.

3. There is mutual distrust among Yoruba's and Igbo's, which is why the North runs the country, which is a very unfortunate reality.

I do not hate Igbo's, I didn't say Igbo's are the ones burning Tinubu's properties, but one thing I know for sure is a lot of the twitter and nairaland monikers applauding the destruction of the man are Igbo's.
Is Tinubu corrupt? Very likely. But if we are going to start uniting in the South and face our common enemy, then we must stop shielding our own corrupt politicians because they are our tribesmen while cheering for the destruction of those from other tribes. This causes distrust among us. Deal with your oppressors in the East and the West deal with theirs, the masses win.

Igbo hate Tinubu, Yorouba hate Peter Obi. Election time has come and gone, this time the southern youth are demanding to end police brutality and a voice. The West youth went ahead and did thier carnage and it perfectly fit to some igbo narrative, all of a sudden u forgot things were not that better before now and it wasnt a Yorouba vs Igbo fight before. Somehow you guys started seeing everything from the tribal lense and as usual the North are silently using this.

If this stuff change to an Igbo vs Yorouba fight remember you are one of the cause. Coward Youth.
