If you are a student of conflict and peace resolution, you will understand that conflict is as good as peace itself. Conflict is forerunner of peace.

For true peace to exist, each party must understand that actions have consequences. The very knowledge that a people will accept whatever you throw at the breeds injustice and disdain. Sometimes for a thing to truly get better, it has to be destroyed first. Life itself comes from death. A seed will not germinate unless it first die.

Perhaps after this both government and citizens will respect each other's rights and privileges. Police would think twice b4 shooting a young man in a car. While we are trying to salvage the country, government MUST learn to respect her citizens and should not feel like demigod because they have guns. You cannot impoverish peoples and expect them to clap for u. Citizens should also learn to obey law and order.

You have made a strong point, but I think you should've started by preaching to those who point fingers at us for every single misfortune that befalls them. You should have reserved your sermon for those that have been celebrating Boko haram and bandits simply because muslims are the victims. Be sincere, how many times have you heard southerners complaining over the killings in Katsina, Jigawa, and Kebbi? Compare that to those that have spoken against the killings in southern kaduna (a christian region).

Believe it or not, this country is heavily divided. When I complained against ending SARS,I did so because SARS have been helping to improve security in the north. They don't harass civilians here, so why should they be ended just because some people are being touched? Reformation is what I support and not ending it.

On Facebook, I was called an aboki terrorist, Boko haram, fulani cow, etc simply because I called for the ending of the protest since SARS has been scrapped. They continued hailing the protesters and when the officers started taking action, the people and the international community complained against it. To them, the protesters should continue destroying and looting at will. Since this is what the south wants, why should I really disturb myself? They should carry on. That's how we (the north) hailed Yaradua when he was killing Boko haram until they came back to haunt us. You people are also following the same path by blowing the embers of this dubious protest.

I have been trying to get rid of tribalism (I know that this is a problem for me) but each time I see some silly and dumb comments, I'm forced to dive back to it. Someone just said that the northerners are the ones looting shops all over the place and freeing prisoners.

You asked how many people spoke against Bokoharm. In my post I made mention of The BBOG campaign which Oby Ezekwesili chaired. We have been speaking against the killings since the Jonathan regime. We have had harsh tags and many others. Most times we see what we choose to see.

I have had personal encounter with two northerners one from Niger and the other A Nigerian fought over Buhari cold bloodeldly. It all started when the Nigerien said Buhari is a fool. Lo and behold, his friend a northerner blocked him from moving his container of water . He resisted . Led to a fight and while this where going on. Another Northerner saw the fight and asked what happen. To my surprise he launched an attack on the Nigerien just when he heard that he insulted Buhari.

My point is we seem to always fight other people's war. While we have out own internal war withing us.

You complained against the scrapping of SARS . If only you know what the Sars have done here. I am being truthful to you they have done more harm than good. They might not have done much harm over there owing to the fact of the environment which they find themselves. We should learn to speak out against evil irrespective of anything. We have spoke against Boko haram. We spoke against tribal war. We spoke against all ills. It will be better you educate your neighbors than give in to the ills of tribalism. It will never do us good. It will only tear us apart. Which do u want to see? A peaceful Nigeria or a war torn one?

It is Nigeria because we have the North East South and West. When we don't have one of them it is no longer Nigeria . I am not from your tribe. Shebi I would have insulted you from your comments? But I choose not to rather try to make you see things from a different point of view. When we dialogue.... we see reasons.

The fight to endsars is not only for sars alone but also for a great Nigeria. For good governance. Ate you happy withe th state of Nigeria? Are you happy that Nigeria is like the poverty capital of THE WORLD? Are you happy that we have lots of money as a country but we aren't seeing the money being used on us? Are you happy about bandits ravaging the country, are u happy about the kidnapping ? A whole lots to be unhappy about. If we have a good government perhaps we might tone down on tribalism .

Actually, that goes very much contrary to the comments made by southeasterners on social media regarding the terrorism going on here. For example, people like Oremussanctus, genbloodykiller, Cynthakiss, etc were one if the open supporters of Boko haram just because of hatred.

Regarding the brutality of SARS, I am not denying your claims but let me ask you this, do you think scrapping SARS will change anything? Are you aware that SARS officers are still within the police force, and they WILL still continue what they have been doing? Do you think changing their name will solve anything? Just think.

So, SARS has done more harm than good in the south, so that means they must be banned everywhere (thereby worsening insecurity in northern Nigeria)? Whether you agree or not, reforming SARS and enacting strict rules for the officers is what will work and not just scrapping them. It isn't the name "SARS " that is making them wicked, it's their mindset which can only be checked by totally kicking them out of the police force or introducing disciplinary measures against all offending offers.

Still on SARS, I challenge you to mention one body in Nigeria where you don't find abusive people. The police kills and takes bribe, soldiers kill illegally, vigilante people harass civilians, customs officers collect bribes, DSS has been politicized, politicians abuse their powers, lecturers get sex for grades, lawyers lie, doctors kill because of negligence, traders cheat, etc, etc, etc! Why are you singling out SARS? Why aren't you protesting against the others? There are good eggs and bad eggs everywhere you go. You can't tell me that all SARS officers are the same.

The protest IS CLEARLY NOT ABOUT BUILDING A BETTER NIGERIA. Dont try to twist things please. The hashtags dont say #EnoughIsEnough, it says #EndSars and with the way police officers are being killed, the intention is quite clear. How many houses of politicians have the protesters burnt? I can boldly swear that if the southerners had been fighting for a better Nigeria or even attacking politicians, the north would have joined a long time ago, and we would 100% have been a lot rougher than the south.

I don't know what you have been listening to frankly. I swear I don't know. All these info you are getting . You are at Kaduna and this is what you concluded is about the protest? It is scary to imagine lots of people thinking same you are thinking.. damn!!! It is shocking to know I swear. It is. So, this is what you thought?
Misinformation will kill us all in this country.

What does enough is enough means? Enough is enough for bad governance . Enough is enough for poor roads and light. Is enough not enough for you on the killings and baditry hear and there? So, you will be glad houses are burnt. Do you not see where people are trying to stop the thugs from destroying properties ? How many properties were destroyed before the Lekki incident?

Are you seeing the intentions yourself? Before the Lekki incident . Hasn't it been peaceful so far?

You are there in Kaduna. I am telling you that you are wrong with your thinking. You are absolutely wrong. We didn't come out to overthrow the government. We came out to speak our pains. The BBOG protest and campaign...how many northerners supported it?

We have to rise above sentiments in this country. The people you called making tribal comments are fools. They are just using this faceless forum to say rubbish. You, I believe is wiser.

What u have said are not true

You are the only person that is feeding off misinformation. How many lies have the protesters not spread so far? Just look at this idiot, DJ switch for example.

There was no protest against banditry by any of the protesters in the south. Like I have said, don't try to twist things. The protesters made their points clear: they want SARS to be scrapped and nothing else. Only a handful even mentioned police brutality.

Actually, violence and jail breaks occurred in Edo before the Lekki incident (which has been proved to be very highly exaggerated and full of LIES).

Nobody in his right senses would have gone out to shout BBOG in the north as at that time. In case you have forgotten, Boko Haram was always looking for public gatherings for their bombs then.

Are they shouting to bring back the girls now? Or have all of them being back?

Dj switch is spreading lies? She made a live video , she has come out to recount her experiences, the governor of Lagos state said he confirmed two deaths pertaining to the toll gate incident. Who did the govt went to visit?

Why bring military to quell a peaceful protest? We had worse at other locations and military weren't deployed there.

Brother . It is very easy for you to sit behind your phone and type this if you weren't involved first hand.

They called for the scraping of SARS . Okay . Yes? Did they call for the scrapping of the police ? Did they call for that of EFCC .

See., the people who put discord in us are having a field day watching us as we argue. They have achieved their aim. Have they not been attempts of using thugs to stop the protest? Were thugs not seen in the Supposedly security personnel vehicle going to disrupt the protest?

They played us . We serve to their hands. Then again, you started the blame game .

Who is championing the campaign now? If you had wanted to talk about the Chibok girls .. you would have spoken irrespective of boko or not . Just as the media and social medial were used during this protest. But now you can find your way to the social media to hurl insults on protesters. The jos killings that happend. How much of it did you speak up against yourself?
The herdmens killings... how much of it do you speak up against?

Everything is not politics. Please be Human first before religion, tribe or whatever differences we might have. If God had wanted he would have created just one tribe in the whole world or maybe let us live in utopia. I can't fight for God, nope we can't. So why are we letting the devil use us to fight one another?

We can always drive our point without inciting violence and hurting words during sensitive times like this. A whole lot is wrong with us in this country. The citizens are just being played like pawns...

Pls. I beg. Do much of investigation before conclusion . I believe you are at Kaduna. You obviously don't know exactly what is happening in lagos. I can't jump to conclude an incident that happened in Kaduna, if the residents say otherwise.. they know better.

There are far more pressing issues now than BBOG especially after more than 70% of them have now reunited with their parents.

Do you know the difference between 75 and 2? If Buhari should distribute 2 million naira in your neighborhood and tell the media that he distributed 75, wouldn't you complain? The criminal said 75 souls were lost in the massacre and that blatant lie helped to fuel the unrest in the country. There is nothing you can use to vindicate that woman without showing the bias that you think yoy are hiding.

Police or military presence is always important regardless of the nature of the protest. Even the most advanced countries do such and with the way those protesters had behaved in Edo prior to the shootings, no one can truly say what warranted the shootings from the soldiers. These same people snatched rifles from policemen and even set one ablaze.

That you were in Ibadan last night does not mean I would believe it if you told me that you saw a fire-breathing dragon in ibadan and I would carelessly believe it. Those protesters, like DJ switch for example, have proven to be pathological liars from the bottom of hell.

I'm trying to say that reformation is the solution and not scrapping it totally (we need them here in the north). Also, the same former SARS members are in the police force so scrapping the title won't stop them from harassing you. It's not as if removing the name "SARS" will magically change their mentality.

5 people on NL so far have said that thugs were seen driving security vehicles but none of you have been able to provide a single video evidence. Can you please share a link for me?

Lastly, I don't have to be in new York to know what's happening in new York. The world is a global village now. And as for what you said about northerners not complaining on social media, you are clearly speaking out of ignorance. Hausas, regardless of their level of education, mostly use the social media with their native language. The only time I use English is when I'm here or when I'm commenting on Aljazeera. Most of the Yoruba and Igbo people I know speak English in their homes more than they speak their languages but here in Hausa land, it is not like that (and I'm 100% in support of this). We don't place another language above ours. It is a disgrace.

If you want to see what hausas are saying on social media, check "BBC Hausa" on Facebook or try checking the twitter handles of hausas. We use our languages unless we want others to read it as well. It's how we do things here.

I told you not to hastily jump into conclusions. There are more to all these that you don't know. If we remove sentiments and personal grudges against one.. we will see clearly. Just be open minded first

There is no way at least 50 out of 75 dead people cannot be confirmed. They have families, they have friends, and their corpses couldn't have magically disappeared. Let's stop fooling ourselves please. More than 10 people have already come out to deny every being killed so far
