people like you are the reason everybody wants to put up a car on uber thinking this is what the true picture really is.. trust me, even grossing 100k weekly for 8weeks consecutively, either the car develops one or two issues that slows down the pace of earning or body breaks down.. moreover, you didn't calculate feeding, call card, data, and other miscellaneous that are in evictable.. let's stop misleading people and let's always try to be factual. some gullible people too are following this thread. if it was that easy and predictable, nobody will be on rental cuz them go don safe up buy their own Corolla..

Why are you people so quick to say otherwise, i gave my calculations based on gross earnings and normal expenses you can't bypass like(fueling).

Other expenditure now depends on your spendings which varies weekly.

That 160k i gave as commission isn't upto that cuz everyone gets either 8%, 12% or 15% at a certain threshold in a week which means the 160k maybe lesser within 8weeks on 800k gross earnings...

This is the truth but that doesn't mean car owners would increase their remittance, only greedy partner would do that while a reasonable partner would know it goes beyond just fueling and driving...

Like I've said before, I'm not here to argue this cux if i continue, I won't argue within words but facts and proofs.

Pls lets not drag this further anymore..

If you were asked for your monthly salary?

Will you add that of your colleagues to it. So y r you quoting gross, who does that?

We r interested only in what you take home.

And I hv not found anyone dt takes home 100k/ week doing Uber.

So 800k in 8 weeks is null and void.

160k is the commission

You have 640k.
Let's say you use 200k fuel,
You have 440k left
Plus little bonuses you were able to meet up.
Lets say roughly 50k bonuses for that 8weeks
You have 490k as your net within 8weeks.

How you now minimize your daily and weekly expenses is now left to you to maximize your savings.

Simple mathematics shows it is probable if you do roughly 14.5k daily.

7days x 8weeks = 56days
800k / 56days = 14,286

With an app that doesn't collect commission?..maybe.

Of cause we all have our daily expenditure,
That expenditure is what will determine what you are left with from what i calculated as your net, it varies and reason why I can't give calculations on that...

You are such a clown. I remember your story now about being cash stranded. Only a fool will take you serious.
Olayetan:

As i told you before, not here to argue.

Your expenditure for that weeks will now determine your profit for the weeks.

Do you spend alot on your car every 8weeks aside from the regular servicing?

You are now relating what happened to me to my earnings, haba is that how you reason?, Despite the fact you read where I said i used the whole cash on me.

Cux i claim to earn that means i must have cash with me all the times...

The screenshot below is just 9weeks bonus

Its a target, you might push yourself to do it. Humans have been seen to do remarkable things when they set their minds to it. But then, owning the car makes a big difference. Like I said, its a probable feat, though I disputed initially until I looked at it in daily terms for a period of time.

Its now your expenditure within those weeks that will determine what you are left with...

If you were asked your monthly salary you will tell the exact amount( if its 100k, you say it), remember you will not start tell people how much fuel you use to work or how much food you buy from your salary. So the guy made it clear #GROSE. He is not talking about how much the guy would save

You come into d discuss wtout knowing wat transpired.

Let me give you d background. Godfather said you can make 800k in 8weeks. So that d newbie can add n start a biz to augment income from uber.

I said 800k in 8 weeks is not possible.

Olayetan came n said its possible with his projections.

Then he came back LATER and said his projections were based on gross income,

Then I asked him, who projects on gross income? d reason d salary question came out.

For instance, if you r asked your salary expectations this week as an Uber driver, will you quote 100k? If yes, then what's d probability of doing 100k in 8 straight weeks.

I put it to olayetan himself, when was d last tym you made 100k /week on Uber

If you can't take home 100k in a week, then 800k in 8 weeks is null and void.

Its pretty straight maths.

nobody is interested in gross earnings, we r interested in the actual money you can possibly take home

And that will happen in 8 straight weeks. grin

You r a damn good analyst. Where did the 50k bonus come from.?

In 8 straight weeks, you won't fix a car you flog 6 days/ week. No car issues. grin. You better wake up to reality, Uber is a side hustle.

Cos all the projections you made up there is pure dust.

Wait a minute, were you not d same guy that cudnt forgo 2k n had to brave the odds to drive during curfew around 3.30am @ mega chicken ? ,

Infact, you told us you had no shishi on you to square the MIB., that they took your vehicle to d station.

, if ur projections r valid, then you wudnt have had dt experience

D question still stands, how will 800k emerge in 8 weeks. . From a tasking job such as driving around Lagos. ?

Net earning is calculated for a salary earner as Salary after tax.

Net earning for an Uber driver is money left after commission.

Fuel, recharge card, feeding, etc., although are cost incurred in the course of doing the work, they are not fixed and should not be deducted at the face value in calculating net income.

If you factor these in, then we are looking at what is left as savings.

A worker living at Ikorodu and works at Lekki incurs transportation cost, feeding cost, recharge card, medical bills, etc., yet when you ask him about his net income, he will tell you what the employer hands over to him at the end of the month.

That's the reason the person is working in the first place. To foot these bills.

Whatever is left as savings afterwards is relative to the individual.

This is where variables like the type of car one uses, the place you live, the driving times (surge hours), the risk appetite (very important in this job), etc., come to play to determine the overall take home.

Net income is after tax is deducted. Agreed.

I'm interested in d take home, cos fuel is an input you expend going forward, in accounting, else, it would amount to double counting, it must be reimbursed back cos it didn't come out from d thin air.

So your Net in the Uber/taxify parlance should be

Net income = Gross income - Commission - Fuel used

Thank you brother, I've been wondering what the argument is about. Even if the figures seem high. A salary earner will still have the same expenses as someone in ehailng, only if your company provides some amenities like recharge cards, a staff bus or official car. We complain about driving being stress. Some of these jobs are damn too stressful. At least I know people who have resigned from over a million pay check because of the stress. The only good thing about being a salary earner is you get paid even with no working hours like annual leave, sick leave, public hols etc. But ehailng na pay as you work
