For the past few years, Oyigbo, a satellite town of Portharcourt, Rivers State, has been in the News for violence. Some say the violence is caused by clashes between residents and the Northern community in the area, others say it is caused by clashes between the security forces and indigenes. There is even talk that IPOB is attacking the community, which does not seem realistic as IPOB is not known for attacking communities.

Oyigbo's actual name is actually "Obigbo", the indigenes are ethnic Igbos. The area used to be in the old Aba province. In 1967 when General Gowon created Rivers states, Obigbo was one of the areas Gowon carved into the new Rivers State. After the war ended in 1970, the military government renamed Obigbo to 'Oyigbo'

So can a resident or indigene of Oyigbo enlighten us all on what is causing the violence in that Town?

Thanks

But what is causing the violence in Oyigbo? Is it government neglect alone?

That's the headquarters of brainless and brainwashed IPOB criminals. They have been terrorising everyone and everybody living in that area. They maimed and kill police at will and create a little republic of biafra. Until they met their match in fulani/hausa guys four days ago after attacking and killing some of them on the order of Nnamdi kanu.

The fulani guys came back in the night with he backing of the military to revenge the killings and destruction of their brothers, slaughtered any ipob and by extension any igbo onnsight.

obigbo was forced into rivers state by the boundary adjustment commission headed by a northern judge in 1976.........prior to that it was in East central state, Get your fact right. The old rivers state boundary actually started where the old port harcourt toll gate.

Work of hoodlums and criminals instantly becomes work of IPOB in Oyigbo, see how they blamed IPOB for killing two hausas a few weeks back despite police having no evidence.

The above makes no sense. Oyigbo people are Igbos. Why would IPOB be attacking an Igbo community? What could they possibly gain from that? IPOB are not known to go about attacking people for no reason.

Now why would Nnamdi Kanu be telling IPOB to attack Hausa/Fulani in Oyigbo? There are many Hausa/Fulani communities around, why Oyigbo in particular?

There is something fishy about this story

Yes, the raving lunatic told his members to destroy any police station and kill all police men found, which they obeyed but they overstepped away and attacked a keke napep rider who happened to be an abokii so there was a skirmish between Hausa and ipob members, the hausa guy they attacked later died. The hausa guys went and reinforced, sent in some spies to mark ipob targets and came back stealthy in the middle of the night and slaughtered them.

Now your story has changed. So it is no longer that IPOB was going about attacking Oyigbo, it is now that Kanu told IPOB to burn the Police station.

The question is why Oyigbo? Why would Kanu order IPOB to be killing Police men Oyigbo? Why not Enugu? Why not Aba? Why not Abakiliki? Why Oyigbo in particular? What is it that is happening there that is exceptional?

Why would the military take sides in such situations. The military and police force seems to be the major problem

The question I am asking is why must the fulani be given cover by the Nigeria military can't they fight their fellow terrorists gun to gun . Why is Nigeria military taking sides.

Is it the same military that has wasted tax payers money and has been made a canon fodder by boko haram or another military

Now crawl back to your cave and find out the definition of massacre.
