sofiscatedmoron:it depends on the pc you re using let me give you the specs of my very old laptop (the key went bad then the battery then the screen then the usb I have to scrap it) core i5 2.4gh-3.1gh dual core 1gb Nvidia 525m vram 4gb ram it actually plays all PS2 games at full speed. And that's a very weak laptop it can run games of 2014-2019 at medium quality. Now imagine this specs its bit better than mine but not close to the good ones corei7 1.8ghz-4.9ghz quad core NVIDIA GeForce MX250 2GB vram. Are you trying to say it will also lag will playing PS2 ,also not when it comes to emulation you need a system that's 4 times as powerful as the system you're trying to emulate. If GOW 1& 2 MK:Shaolin monks PES RE4 & DBZ can run at 60fps on Android phones why would it lag on a pc ? Pls do you research before sharing false information . On another note why would I bother playing PS2 games when I have better games on my laptop 1 Like 1 Share |

lexander:Lies, even the developer of pcsx2 software knows that some games have graphicall glitches, while some are payable to some extent with some setting, even on the best pc,,go to their sites u will see ,compatibility list, for pcsx2 , tell me another lies |
Re: I Want To Buy A PS VITA by naijasensei: 7:55am On Mar 18, 2020 |
Ebenezer2021: First off, your phone cannot handle DamonPS2. PPSSPP has been in development for a very long time and it has undergone heavy optimisation. DamonPS2 on the other hand is relatively new, and it requires a powerful phone. Also, DamonPS2 is for emulating PS2 games while PPSSPP is for emulating PSP games. PS2 emulation is more demanding than PSP emulation. |

Re: I Want To Buy A PS VITA by naijasensei: 8:19am On Mar 18, 2020 |
lexander: Most of what you wrote is true, however, PS2 games don't run at 60fps on Android phones because the DamonPS2 emulator is not properly optimised. Most PS2 games run almost flawlessly on PC, even at 1080p and 4k resolutions. Actually to emulate a particular system, you need to use a computer that is at least ten (10) times more powerful than the system you intend to emulate. As for why anyone wants to play PS2 games today, there are some PS2 exclusives that cannot be found on any other platform. |

AIlahuAkbar: Hi, can you capture a clearer screenshoot of the System details. Use Alt + Print Screen to capture the page, then post the image in paint, save it as a jpeg, then upload it here. The one here is not clear enough. |
Re: I Want To Buy A PS VITA by naijasensei: 11:32am On Oct 26, 2020 |
AIlahuAkbar: It seems your system has a Core 2 Duo CPU, which is ancient by today's standards. If indeed it has a Core 2 Duo CPU, heavy gaming and even PS2 emulation will be difficult. |

Re: I Want To Buy A PS VITA by naijasensei: 12:12pm On Oct 26, 2020 |
AIlahuAkbar: Yes, it is clearer. Unfortunately, that laptop is seriously underpowered. - 2GB RAM is not good enough for any type of high end gaming or emulation. - Core 2 Duo is an outdated CPU. - Your GPU is also outdated. You will be needing another laptop for high end gaming and PS2 emulation. |

naijasensei:Thank you bro and God bless you. So there's no how I can play any ps2 games on this laptop at least even if it's to manage |
Re: I Want To Buy A PS VITA by naijasensei: 1:02pm On Oct 26, 2020 |
AIlahuAkbar:You can, but you will hate the experience. To put it in perspective, I currently have a laptop with a 2nd generation Core i5 CPU, 6GB of RAM, and Intel HD3000 graphics - my laptop struggles terribly with PS2 emulation, it is not powerful enough. Funny enough, I once had a laptop with a 4th generation Core i5 CPU, 4GB of RAM, and an AMD Radeon 7870 GPU that emulated PS2 games with ease. |

Re: I Want To Buy A PS VITA by Nobody: 1:11pm On Oct 27, 2020 |
lexander: You are very very wrong, to emulate any platform you need 2 times the power, a PC can play games way more visually appealing than PS2 but the PS2 instruction sets are complex, and how pcsx2 built their project made it hard to re-write it. Because you are interpreting every ps2 instructions but the Emotion Engine and the GPU calls to match the CPU, and that often leads to bug. If you do interpreter even emulating a simple console will be very slow as it needs to fetch and decode each instruction. The reason Android games are faster is because Android games are built on C++ and your phones e.g have special instructions to add performance. Native code will always be faster compared to dynamic recompilation. PS3 emulator runs faster than PS2 emulator because the PS3 dev has very good knowledge of the system and prob some machine code knowledge to optimize. Just like the Dolphin emulator too. So it's because how the computation of the code is done and not the hardware. That's a common flaw most people fail to understand. The shit is hard, its genius to accomplish such sef Most of the PS2 games even require patches for PCSX2 to run fast so....... 1 Like |

lexander:abeg leave that guy, he's too argumentaive. telling me RTX graphics cards can't play console that is two generations old. i'm really hoping OP didn't buy the Vita. most hacking scenes don't want to even touch the vita because of the lack of a good games library, and most of them can be found on other platforms. for the money of the vita, he could buy a high end phone that will play Nes, snes, n64, gba, nds, gmaecube, all the sega console games(genesis, saturn, dreamcast), ps1 and psp. |

pcguru1:I hope you know a very old 2013 GPU gt540m can actually run dolphin flawless don't get me started on Gtx so what's so special about PS2 that it's so hard to emulate. You can now play switch on android at 60fps and a Gtx 1080 is 800% faster than the best Snapdragon phone are you kidding telling me a PS2 is complicated . People are even building their own handheld PS2 gaming systems how do you think they run it Guy place so research before you start discouraging people |

[quote author=pcguru1 post=95393311] You are very very wrong, to emulate any platform you need 2 times the power. According to you a PS4 is weaker than a PS2 whao am impressed |
Re: I Want To Buy A PS VITA by Nobody: 4:31pm On Oct 27, 2020 |
lexander: PS2 Emulation (Not Physical PS2 o ) being slow has nothing to do with your graphics but the CPU, if the timing of the clock is slock, FPS will be slow. you are the one that should read, I follow emulations in their forums for years. so PS2 graphics is not advanced just that Ps2 emulation is slow. There are PC games more advanced that PS2 that will run faster because those games are native. If you don't understand what I am saying, then you cannot understand why PS2 is slow. But PS2 games run at 60FPS (* depending on some games) anyway I use a 1060 and i7 and have no issues with performance. Nvidia card and Intel users will get speed and Ryzen cards to a degree. This explains emulation in details if you are interested http://www.xsim.com/papers/Bario.2001.emubook.pdf 2 Likes |

Plus ps2 emulation on my pc isn't slow it runs at max unless the game isn't supported ,of it was stated as some games might be slow then I will accept it as being a Matter of compatibility but when you say can't run or will always lag I'll be like what's this dude saying (need to be 2 times faster? High gen i3,i5,i7 and i9s are actually more than 20-40 times faster than the processor of a ps 2) and you just admitted it's not a matter of graphics so I rest my case. As a matter of fact you only need more processing power when a particular system is well emulated but you can't convince me that a pc from 2013 can't run PS2 flawlessly that's like saying a flagship phone from Samsung or BTC released in 2020 can't run sega genesis because that's how I compare mobile phones and pcs. PCs are also far ahead of mobile so if it's possible to run on a mobile why won't it run on a pc. |
