[Qquote author=heidepaper post=95429777]Hello,

First of all, I tracked it via dhl and saw it was delivered and signed for.

Next I got an email saying my passport has arrived at so so so office and is being processed.

I’ve been getting Mail updates about the movement of the passport from one point to another.

This looks positive to me.

The applicant should give a little push. If she hasn’t replied already. Thank the professor and ask if they’ll like to do a short call to discuss a bit further before she submits her application. Tell them you know their schedule is very busy and you’ll understand if it’s not possible. Very polite email. She can list a few sensible things she’ll like to discuss.

Then during the call, she can ask about funding. This is just my personal opinion and what I'd do if I were her.

Great other supervisors responded! The chances of 1 or more working out is quite high.

All the best to her

Ps: the picture you shared has some private info on it.

I showed her your message, and she says she would do just that ie pushing for a short call to discuss several needs. Thanks bro

Pls kindly help me to analyse this case note.
I applied for M.Sc Data Science at TRU but already have B.Sc., M.Sc., and PhD in Computer (OAU). Also note that the officer didn't mention family ties as part of refusal cos I added my family to my application with enough POF.

To your 2nd Question,

This is a very nice record but I think the VO was explicit with his/her concerns

I think the major issue is that the MSC seems to be lower than your other qualifications and maybe you didn’t justify extra benefits it will bring to you at your work place

Why will you include your masters in OAU in your application. How did you think you will get the visa ?
You are not meant to include your phd of masters certificates. You are not meant to let them know at all. Just apply with your bsc.

Well, I did.
I also clearly stated the reasons for this new program in my SOP. My B.Sc., M.Sc. and PhD are all in Computer Science and I need to specialize in Data Science and apply it to Healthcare. And we don't have any program for Data Science in Healthcare in Nigeria.
Computer Science is a general program while Data Science is a specialised program.

In my own opinion,

Visa Assurance thru this path is very Slim base on the following factors

- Wrong Career progression for you (A Bachelor' Holder going for a Diploma/certificate program)

- The school (Evergreen College) is a DLI but does not offer PGWP(Post Graduate Work Permit)

Possible/Potential Steps for you to take

- Apply to a Masters Program related to Human Physiology (that's if you have a minimum of 2.1), if u av a 2.2/3rd Class then go for a PGD/PG. Cert Program related to Human Physiology

- Make sure the skool is a DLI & offer PGWP
Visit the link below to know how to check if a skool is a DLI & Offer PGWP

Hello,

Only the visa officer handling your file can give a sure answer.

Are you aware that:
1. This college is not eligible for a PGWP? (Post graduation work permit)

2. The course is an ordinary diploma which is lower than a BSc, which I’m guessing you already have?

Hello Milkytins

The VO was not convinced that you are a genuine student because of career progression. It may be helpful if you get a letter from your HOD or any top Professor in your field or maybe from your university itself. This letter should explain why the Masters in Data Science is necessary for you at this point and the contributions it would make to your career as an academic. The letter should be attached to your reapplication should you want to reapply.

It may also be better if you show why data science is necessary for your research. Indicate your research history and explain what has been missing that only data science can help you accomplish. Establish why you have to do a second masters at that cost and what financial or career benefits may come from it.

Hello heidepaper, Please what sections of the VFS consent form did you fill?

heidepaper:
Hello,

What I did was to send my passport and other documents vi DHL to VFS Canada Abuja. I sent it with a two way courier. A two way courier means I paid for them to take it to VFS and also to bring it back to me when the passport has been stamped.

These are the documents I included in mine:

International passport

Letter form IRCC asking me to submit my passport

Signed consent form (if you need the form, send me a private message and ask for it)

Original receipt I got during biometrics from VFS with the 2 colored photocopy of my passport that was attached to it

2 passport photographs

Also note that when VFS finally replied my email, they said these are the required documents (please see picture below) but I had already submitted mine by then.

The cost of the DHL was 3,300 Naira for everything.

Cheers

If you read the note well youll see that the VO noted that there was an endorsement from his university.

I think the best option for him is to try express entry unless the university is sponsoring the MSc.
