So for those asking if Abuja embassy is granting emergency VISA appointment even if you are not within the stipulated 60 days of your start date, the answer is YES. YES.

Go and book the normal 2021 date you see there,
Then the option for emergency appointment will pop up for you,
fill the form and include your reasons for wanting emergency appointment,
Attach your 1-20
Attach your SEVIS payment receipt
Submit
They will get back to you within days
The earliest I just booked for someone was Nov 23rd.
Goodluck!

In case the request was rejected, what would the person have to do to secure a date before January?

You'd have to stick to your regular appointment.

Mine was denied for failure to upload SEVIS FEE receipt. I called and mailed them the said SEVIS fee and they still have me same response that I have used my emergency request that it's one per MRV receipt, that if I want to apply for another emergency request, then I would have to pay for another VISA FEE.

I cancelled my appointment immediately and check for available dates in Lagos & saw December 11th.

That was how I was able to schedule December 11th. I pray that 11th December would favour me.

Its so hard for me honestly but I wouldnt have it any other way. I couldnt have left my baby, she was only about three months old then. Please be sure you have finances oooo even if you have full funding. If the child is above 4 years old, then you MAY get free school, but if the child is less than 4 years old, the money you will pay eh can drive someone mad (something like $220 weekly, in bigger cities it reaches and exceeds $500 weekly).
If your school is in a city where you have family, then the better for you. I didnt have the advantage of family but the church i attend is predomimnatly white people and luckily for me, all of the people i have been meeting in the church are the nicest crop of people on earth. For reasons i dont know, elderly people were becoming my friends more and from that circle, i have been able to get childcare for free including weekends, when i need them. They have become family. If you ever get to come with your baby, hit me up for more info. Take care. Also bear in mind that your husband getting F2/B is not automatic

Thank you so so much for the info. Mine is 5 year old and I will keep in touch for info. Thank you

Hello once again,

I need answers to some questions that I'm worried about.

For my DS-160 form, do I necessarily need to state that I have siblings in the USA? They are also in other states different from where I am going. Please your opinions on whether to input YES or NO.

Secondly, can any issue on my dad's b1 visiting visa affect my f1 visa?
Moreso, he has our names on his profile as children and he is my sponsor for f1 visa. And his name is in my ds160 as parent.

@Lagosismyhome @fairheart @walspring @texrem and other gurus, please I need your opinions.

Thank you.

All you need to know is, you are already in sync with your family members. Even if you don't state that you have siblings there, your dad as stated you all as his children, and you have also stated him as your dad, dots will be connected!

Once they flag that you're hiding info, your honesty is questioned. Trust me, that's no way in your favour.

About your dad's status, that i doubt...

Please gurus in the house, I have an issue with my I20 shipment. It’s already in Lagos and I’m in Abuja but I got a mail from UPS today saying my package is experiencing delays because they’re awaiting payment authorization from the receiver. Has anyone encountered this kind of issue before and please how was it rectified?

Greetings people. Please I need help. I have a sponsor with a foreign SOA. Those who have used foreign sponsors should please talk about how detailed the SOA was. Is a one-paged SOA showing the opening and closing figures enough (We know how people may want to keep certain transactions from the person they're sponsoring) ? What would characterise a good foreign SOA? Also, would it be okay to use printed electronic copy?
someone should please answer this questions for us o...abeg

Further note for those who have began their program online this fall. When you get to the interview session, not much is asked once you have started your program. I had my VISA interview last week. Once the VO asks' what school do you intend to go? You begin by telling the VO that you are a masters/doctorate student of x and y at the university of x and y. That you intend to return in-person this coming spring. You will need to show the VO a colored print out of a proof of your course enrolment, tution and fees payment and school's unofficial transcript. This was what I did. My interview was not up to a minute. Reasons why I found it difficult to forward my transcript here. It was so brief and fast. I was extremely surprised. I was not asked any question like the others... questions like why the school, financial justification etc. All these was not required from me. As they have always stated on this platform, be confident enough that you are a scholar and you know your worth. Bodily countenance really matters. I ended up speaking when I was not asked any further question by the VO, more like a conversation with him. I was confused as he kept on typing and remained silent as if he already had all the information needed. Apart from what school I was going to attend, he asked about my marital status and that was all. It was that simple but it may vary for others though. Just make sure you have every of your original documents to proof all that you stated on your DS-160. They did not need all that from me sha. But thank God I was able to present my school's tuition and fees payment receipt, unofficial/non-graded transcript and my course enrolment print out. Immediately, I showed him this. That was what made it for me. This should help those awaiting interview that have already started their program virtually this fall and returning in-person for spring 2021. My regards to every one in the house. You guys are really doing a great job here and that is what motivated me to drop this here. Gracias

Pls I sent you a mail/ PM. Thank you

I got similar mail before my I20 arrived. Go and track it on your page. I don't think it means anything except that it will take a longer time thst expected date. In my case, it was like 4-5 days more before u received the document

Hi everyone. I have been refused a US Visa before (Tourist Visa).
On the part of the form where they asked if I’ve been refused before, please how much information should I give there? In the ‘explain’ part.

The reason for refusal was inability to demonstrate strong ties.

If I go into all of these details and explain everything, will it jeopardize my chances of getting the F1 visa this time around?

Thank you
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 15 by Ehizy007: 6:30am On Oct 29, 2020
You already answered your question. Keep it simple, you do not need to provide too many details.
