ufotty2001:Oga what d hell are u talking about ..Pastor Chris acted in wisdom and he never mentioned MBA or any name...That u are a big giver in church doesn't mean the pastor will not advice members to thread with caution..He never sent anyone to invest with any one or do any Ponzi scheme in church..So the message was clear which is ,do it at ur own risk...Don't come and blame pastor Chris tomorrow if you loose ur money...That's exactly what the message is |

ahiboilandgas:Oga, have you ever seen the audited reports of Providus Bank in the newspapers? What about Heritage Bank? Don’t they receive deposits and funds from the members of the public? Why don’t you go to them to demand their audited reports and see if security men no go throw you out inside dirty smelling gutter? Zenith Bank is a publicly listed company and that is why it must publish its annual reports for the members of the public. Privately held banks must file their reports to the regulators but not to the members of the public. A whole billionaire entrepreneur and serial investor like you should know that na .For your info, I have never invested in any forex scheme and will never invest in them as I do not believe in forex trading as an investment. |

Lazyyouth4u:Quit lying ... Jaiz Bank: https://jaizbankplc.com/investor-relations/annual-report-and-accounts/ Heritage Bank: http://www.hf-wa.com/FinancialDocs Providus Bank: https://www.providusbank.com/annual_reports_financial_statement Besides being a requirement of SEC registration (which MBA Forex has avoided), how can you begin to ask the investing public to trust you with their funds when you keep your financials hidden? Makes no sense except you want a license to loot. Lazyyouth4u:You certainly vent like one of the MBA Forex adherents. |
| Re: Why Are Nigerians Still Investing In MBA Forex, BARA And Others? by Nobody: 3:41pm On Oct 30, 2020*. Modified: 4:01pm On Oct 30, 2020 |
jabolo:Oga, any company that is not publicly listed is not obligated to share its financials with the members of the public on the pages of newspapers. Of course they must share with regulators but other than the regulators, they are only obligated to share with their shareholders. Key word ‘obligated’. The key question people should be asking is who regulates these guys and what are the regulators saying. Instead of asking the guys for their financial statements and other documents, you should be asking questions from the CBN, SEC or whoever is regulating them. The regulators should be monitoring and auditing their activities and financials. I will never be caught investing in something as risky as forex or forex trading. Besides, anything that looks or smells like a pyramid scheme, I run away from. By the way, that link is not for Heritage Bank Nigeria. |
| Re: Why Are Nigerians Still Investing In MBA Forex, BARA And Others? by jabolo(m): 4:17pm On Oct 30, 2020 |
Lazyyouth4u:Apologies ... https://www.hbng.com/investor-relations/ Lazyyouth4u:We are on the same page. MBA Forex is not regulated by anyone because it chooses not to register with the SEC even though it is handling collective investments. So its accounts are effectively hidden * from everybody - regulators or the public. Which is why potential investor anyone should run far away from them. Sorry, I forget what your original point was, seeing you agree that having accounts are important. * I don't actually believe they actually prepare any accounts as required by CAMA. The business horizon is relatively short-term as with any Ponzi scheme and it will fold at the earliest opportunity. |

SaintUlot:Lol..MBA would never publish their account, it rather burns down than for it to do so. I see many gullible ppl here who dont know anytin about forex defending MBA. Every true forex trader would know the market has been erratic for months now due to the forthcoming US election. MBA trades forex but its payout is based on ponzi. |

Lazyyouth4u:I have to comment here today because this is one person that have correct sense here. All of you that have anything against MBA should carry your frustration and vent it on the regulators just as the man I quoted above suggested. Carry your frustration and face the SEC that has failed to develop a framework to regulate Forex trading in Nigeria. That Jobless Jabolo is here lying that MBA refused to register with the SEC ...... How do you register with a body without a framework to regulate you ? Handling money from the public is not a prerequisite to be regulated by SEC. if it is, then even the common Thrift collectors would be required to be regulated by the SEC. If it is, then the Osusu cooperatives we have in our local markets that help market women with soft loans, would be required to be regulated by the SEC . Jabolo, show your gang here the link to the SEC guidelines that is meant to regulate Forex trading in Nigeria ........... show them or forever keep silent You better carry your frustration and face the SEC........ And start looking for work because this your Joblessness is taking it’s toll on you. |

Lazyyouth4u:You missed it. Jaiz Bank is a publicly listed company their audited reports must be public for all to see. For Providus Bank, the people (the investors) that have something to loose there must have a way access to their audited reports if and when they so desire to be able to act when need Banks customers these days does not loose money. The worst that has happened since Prof Charles Soludo's era at the CBN till date is another bank taking over with the the depositors money intact. The losers are mostly the shareholders/ the business owners. Financial institutions (Banks) in Nigeria today can merge or get acquired by their peers if they are to go insolvent. They can also be taken over by AMCOM, get some money injected into them and make them a going concern before selling it again. AMCOM takes over the management of their assets and liabilities. They is also a maximum insurance of N500,000 for the bank customers incase anything happens. Customers are different from shareholders/owners of the Investment. That a customer fixed money, request for loan or asset financing from the bank does not make him a shareholder in them. With Ponzi, the highest regulation their agents can boast about is mostly registration of company with CAC. That's is not tenable when it comes to Financial Institutions in Nigeria. When the bubble burst, the customer money goes. Unfortunately, customers too are seeing themselves as shareholders whereas they are not. Nothing protects a customer in Ponzi. No known access to take over because at best they only open one shop in Lagos, Abuja, Portharcourt and Kano; furnish them well to convince customers and when their target is met, they stop going there. |
| Re: Why Are Nigerians Still Investing In MBA Forex, BARA And Others? by Nobody: 9:34am On Oct 31, 2020 |
freeman67:Thanks. I didn’t know Jaiz Bank was publicly listed. But we are actually saying the same thing. Only publicly listed companies are required to publish their reports to members of the public. Private companies are only obligated to share with their shareholders and regulators. And we are on the same page as far as regulation. Who is regulating these guys and what are they doing in terms of licensing, auditing and monitoring to ensure that these are credible businesses? I think they are the ones that people should be asking questions about these forex trading guys. If they are doing legitimate businesses, then anyone investing goes in knowing that it is high risk and that they can lose all their funds as forex can be very volatile. This applies to any high yield investment provided they are legit businesses and not just Ponzi schemes to steal money from the members of the public. And you are right that at the end of the day, regulation still doesn’t stop people from losing their hard earned money. There are banks that despite being regulated went under after stealing depositors funds and committing all kinds of fraud. |

oneal10:MBA is not shutting down their offices just because another company acquired majority of its shares. That is to say, should you have any need to go to MBA office, the one you know is still there for you. Guineas PLC, a company with the largest brewery in the world, established in the 1850s was acquired by Diageo in 1997. They are still Guineas and their offices remain. Fear not. |

Zezit:Such mergers or acquisitions are regulated and approved by SEC, the transaction are made public, the share exchange ratio and acquisition costs are made public, shareholders are carried along and must approve the deal after they must have held a court ordered meeting. |

Red flags, even when ignored, do not go away. They laid off staff some months back, now they have been acquired by a travel and real estate agency The government should do more than warn citizens against ponzi schemes. They must be stopped from operating. |

shalomblue:As our National Pledge goes... "I pledge to Nigeria my country..." to do what I can within the ambit of law to hold these people to account no matter how sophisticated the scam they may be planning. There are many many tools to bust scams in the UK. Sadly, don't think I can help the folks in Nigeria much when this goes down. |
