I adjusted on the bed being wary of all the medical related rescucitating paraphernalia inserted into my body.
My head hurts so i touched my forehead to discover i was heavily bandaged.
"You will soon be discharged"The doctor finally broke the silence after checking my pulse and other thing he deemed necessary.
"When"I asked.
"Until you are healthy,strong and hearty to go home"
"Then doctor i am already on my way home.I need to get Hanson arrested"I replied trying to jump down from the bed.
"Who is Hanson"The doctor asked the already petrified looking Ike.
"He is our chief security at work"Ike replied.
"What!,but why does he need to arrest Hanson"
"Perhaps my guess was right,Hanson might have a hand in his predicament"Ike replied.
"This is not might,i am certain"I screamed.
"Are you sure this has not resulted to mental strain or may i say madness.we should send him to an asylum"
"It is your father that will go to an assylum"I fired in anger.
"I am not certain about that doctor"Ike replied dryly.
"But i am"

"If you say that again,i swear i will kill you"I grabbed the doctor in violence as Ike tried to loosen my grip on him and rescue the frail looking doctor disguised in a big coat.
"He is crazy,call the armed men,call the security to put him in chains"The doctor continued lashing as i grabbed him tight.
Ike was powerful than i am so he seperated me from the doctor and pinned me down while the doctor ran out to get armed men to bound me.
"Ike leave me,i am not mad.Just tell that man to let me go and arrest Hanson"I pleaded.Tears was gathering in Ike's eyes,he was shaking his head in disapproval.
"Let me go Ike please"I pleaded but he held me down"I am not mad"
He ignored me.The door opened and six men came in with chains and pounced on me,in no time i was in chains.I struggled with them as they dragged me to a van waiting outside the hospital.
Ike trolled behind as he tried to fight back the tears in his eyes.
Everybody could easily detect he was crying.
"Tell them i am not mad"I pleaded but Ike was sternfaced.

I am updating tomorrow by the grace of God.

I was bundled into the car like a pack of card.Ike sat beside me,he was still putting on his stern.
"Ike you know i am not mad,why not tell these guys that i am alright.I just want to be home,i want to see my parents.All my life is crumbling,where is Amanda and my unborn son?where is Charles"I pleaded to him trying to free myself on the cuffs dangling on my wrist.
I saw him slip a thin paper into my pocket and smiled.
I could not understand his language but i decided to keep mute until we got to the hospital for the mentally deranged.
The security men alongside the doctor helped me down the car and we walked silently into the hospital leaving Ike behind,i saw him plying out his phone to make few calls.Only God knows who,i swallowed as the cuffs was removed from my wrist.
Ike rushed into the ward like an antelope running away from being a prey to the young cubs.
He muttered some words to the doctor and rushed out immediately without glancing at me.I became confused,i wondered whatcwas inscribed in the paper

he kept in my pocket.
I longed for privacy so i could unravel the mystery.
The doctors were busy on me,i dont even know what they were doing and i wasnt bothered.

They were moving out of the hospital in anger after shooting some staffs who tried to defy them.They could not find their target[one Mr.Michael] and this angered them the more.
They were about jumping into Hilux when they heard a gunshot thereby dropping one of them dead.
They were perplexed looking round the hospital compound susceptibly to figure out where the attack was from.
They cocked their kalashnikov and started firing aimlessly at all corners.

A speaker blared into their ears.
They dropped their guns and raised their hands high above their head in surrender.
The armed men in black camouflage with dark glasses swooned on them and arrested them.
They were cowered in bounds and taken away.

Ike returned to the hospital some hours later with all smiles.

He sat down beside me.
"Boss,i know you are not mad"He said calmly.
"I read the paper you gave me.So where is Amanda and my son"I asked.
"They are fine,i took them to Ghana to stay with my sister.My sister called last week to tell me Amanda put to bed to a baby boy"
I jumped in joy but was restricted by the chains on my hands and foot.
"But is that really your baby"Ike asked.
"Where are my parent"I replied trying to evade answering the question.
"Is that child your biological son sir"Ike asked again.
"No"i replied finally.
"She was gang raped by some guys one night after i dropped her off in her street.I love the girl so i decided to take responsibility of the child"I emphasized.
"Someone set those guys up to rape her"Ike stated.
"How d' you know that Ike?How will any one do that"
"I can interpret it.The guy who ordered the rape have been caught,he was her former boyfriend whom she dumped because he cheated on her.The guy have been tortured and he pointed at someone i still doubt is responsible for this"

"You seem to know much Ike,but i am still lost.I still dont get it"I replied trying not to believe what Ike was saying but with the confidence in his voice,one could know this was no lies.
"Amanda was raped to prevent you from marrying her"
I adjusted in jittery.Cold drenched my system.
"But why?who did that"
"I wont tell you who the person is in this delicate condition of yours.Your father have a big comglomerate which consists of one estate and two island,a tansport company,a shipping company,an oil and gas company and fourty chains of filling stations which total to about five hundred million dollars and the intetesting thing is that he willed it to you but his close friends and ally is against it because yu are not his biological son"Ike said.
"I know of all that but why i dont know is the reason why my dad did not tell me all these before hand,i never knew that my father owned sixty percent of the shates asssts the Exxon Mobil oil company where i work"I replied.
"There is more to unravel boss"Ike said.

"What"
"It is these people who dont want your father to give you all those that is incharge of all these upheavals and unrest.We will go home and talk more.First of all,they need to unbound you so we can go home"

I sat well to hear my mother speak in the family meeting.

Did i just hear Ifedi?I turned to Ike who winked at me.
I could not believe my ears.
My father elder brother Uncle Chigozie who resides in london but came back because of the meeting cleared his throat.
"Good day all,i thank God for today.I thank God for making today a day to make things right in this family...."

"My brother too made some mistakes in the long run.He asked to find a way to tell others.
My brother is not impotent.He have a son before he married"Uncle Chigozie pauses to survey reactions.
Everybody exclaimed in disappointment.
I just could not hold myself anylonger,i wanted to blow open but Ike prevented me.
"He gave birth to a son while at NYSC,he impregnated a fellow female corper of his called Christiana Ikedioha who left the camp because of shame"Uncle Chigoie paused again.
"Thats my dead mother name.This is weird.First you mentioned Iyke Ifedi my dad and now Christiana Ikeioha my mum.whats happening"Ike bursted aloud.He was visibly furious.
"Calm down and listen"some few elders shunned him and he reluctantly sat down.
Does this mean Ike is my father son while i am Ike father son?I swallowed hard.
"So my late brother original will is with his lawyer who will arrive from Italy after the burial rites to read it aloud to our hearing.That will we are dragging for is just the counterfeit"Chigozie sat down.

CHAPTER SIXTEEN
-The Pursuit of the perpetrators-

Two weeks after my dad was buried,sorry did i just said dad?my foster father.
The original will contains his mind.
Fourty percent of my father wealth was willed to Ike,Thirty was willed to me while the remaining went to the remaining members of the family.
We all tried to forgive our parents for the mistakes they've committed ignorantly and we were all on hot pursuit of the perpatrators of evil.
I mean those who tried to kidnap me and even killed my foster father in the process.
Ike was the most hurted,he felt that his biological father who he barely met was murdered gruesomely.He vowed to bring those people to justice.
First of all,those criminal arrested had confessed that a close family member of us had allied with the enemy and had almost ruined the family but these criminals refused to divulge useful information.
I looked for Charles everywhere,i missed him but we could not locate his whereabout,both he and his father.
But why will Charles leave me now?

I was in my office one day when Like called me.His voice sounded like there was an emergency I needed to attend to.
"You need to hurry home now"his baritone voice was swift and soon went dead.
I picked up my car keys,shut down my system and scurried out of the office issuing some handful instructions to my secretary and P.A before jumping into my SUV and sped out of the vast twenty five hectares of land in which my father company was sited.
I wanted to pass through my normal route but was scared of the traffic so I took the overhead bridge and went through berger.
Forty five minutes later,I was at Ikes' mansion at Ipaja.
I even forgot to lock my car before racing into the house totally confused at the calm state of the house.
This house was always bubbling with life everyday until now,what had happened, I asked my self.
I entered the vast sitting room of Ike where I saw my mother crying,a man on three piece suit stood angrily flanked by two armed bodyguards at two sides.
My presence was barely noticed but I went to sit beside my mum.
Ike turned to me,his face was looking dejected.
"This man here is Iyke Ifedi,he claims he did not die at the accident,as you can see that his body is looking a little burnt and he is here to take his children back"he broke the news.
"Is this the same Ifedi we are still talking about,is this still your foster father"I asked foolishly. That was not what I had in mind to say but it came out at its will though I was happy it did.
"I can recognize this man so much,he is the man I believed to be my father but I still have my doubt that I saw my Ifedi corpse while he was being buried,how come this same ifedi is still standing in front of me,this is crazy"Ike blurted out.
"Ikedi is this you? Please my family have gone through a lot,can't we just stop all these and allow our children to rest.They are passing through a lot because of our mistakes in the past. Let the sleeping dog lie,Ifedi biko nu"My mother went on her knees.
"This can never be my father, he looks thug like"I said foolishly again.Ike eyes told me the words did not go down well with him but I don't care now.
"If my daughters hear of this,they will be very wrought with me.how much did you want Ifedi so you can leave my family alone"Mother pleaded.
"I don't need any money.I need my children"the unknown man said stubbornly as he puffed at his cigar.
I sized this man up,he should be in his late fifties but his thuggish lifestyles his his age away from peoples attention, he could be mistaken to be in his early thirties.
"Mummy what's going on exactly"I asked.
The man turned to me for the first time and smiled.
"Cone to me son,you've grown so well,I am here to take you home with me"the man said trying to hide his hoarse voice but it did not even recede a bit.
"You are mad"I bluffed.
The man was still wearing his mischievous smile as his two bodyguards were flexing their muscles and broad chest.They were two feet above the man.
"You can't hide the truth forever no matter how deep it is thrown to the ocean.your mother here was an epitome of a green snake under green grass,she held church top positions yet cheated outside her marriage"The man lashed out maliciously.
"I will not let you speak to my mother that way"I screamed him down.
"If you won't follow me willingly,then I will force you.He turned to his two bodyguards"force him along with us"he commanded as the two body builders rushed at me and lifted me off the floor.
I struggled tirelessly, Mum and Ike swung into action.Mum picked up the glass flowers vase and threw it on the head of one of the bodybuilder and he let go off me wriggling in pain as blood gushed out if his face.
Ike jumped on the other bodybuilder and rained down series of heavy punches on his face.
As soon as I was freed,I went for the already escaping man and tripped him down,climbed him and sent down torrents of blows on his neck.
I heard a lot of flower vase crashes,it was mum again on the other bodybuilder Ike was rough handling.
It happened like lightening,all I could remember was gunshots and then.......I passed out.
