Sanwo-Olu might have been overwhelmed by events that unfolded and ended up making unconfirmed and unguarded statements without doing proper fact check, that was why the president decided to delay in making reference to the Lekki toll gate event until he had all the facts before him.

Oh, it was on the same day of the shooting that he died from motor accident. wonderful.
