Virginity is virtuous but not all non-virgins were promiscuous.

Character is very good important.

But who would you choose if given a choice between two women both with good characters, one being a virgin and the other not a virgin.
You people are wittingly not asking the right questions.

You make a hasty and fallacious insinuation that a virgin surely has a good character.
You guys have made it seem like virginity = good character and Non-virginity = bad character.

But to others, a girl who has her virginity is most likely proud, rigid, etc. and therefore has no character. To these set of people, Virginity = Bad Character and Non-virginity = good character.

None of these is generally true.

Character is not dependent on whether or not someone is a virgin. That someone is a virgin, eventhough commendable, doesn't mean the person is generally well-behaved.
Virginity and character are mutually exclusive. A virgin can have a good or bad character. A non-virgin can as well have a good or bad character.

But who would you choose if given a choice between two women both with good characters, one being a virgin and the other not a virgin.
The right question to ask is which do you value more: virginity or character? Pick one. That will help you correctly choose. If you value character more, you will choose the one with the better character regardless of her virginity status.
If you value virginity more, you will choose the virgin regardless of her character.

It's that simple.

No when a man or woman abhors sexual sin until marriage it is in keeping to God's principle. I don't think it's any gift to any spouse.

Some women become desolate much later in their marriage when their husband starts committing adultery, you will hear them lamenting how they where virgins until the wedding night, I find such women amusing at their ignorance.

Keeping ones body pure is a call to both young men and women not only women, fornication is a sin and God did not give any one a free pass on sexual sin.

Please enough of all this nonsense that the best thing that can happen to any woman is marriage, the best thing that can happen to any body on this earth be it a man or woman is having a relationship with Christ.

A marriage can only be termed a good one when both parties involved put in their 100% to make it work. When a man is busy roaming around committing adultery it is a failed marriage, that his wife is still living with him does not make it a successful one, that his wife is stupidly condoning it doesn't mean that God has condoned it. If that man does not repent he will definitely find himself in hell after death.
What I said and what you're saying are a bit different. Even the Bible praised a virtuous woman and called her a precious jewel. Now not all virgins can be virtuous neither can all non-virgins be virtuous as well. A virgin with a good character is virtuous and a gift from God to the man. A non-virgin with a good character (not promiscuous) is virtuous and also a gift from God to the man. A man - virgin or not- with a good character who loves his wife like Christ loves the church, is also a gift from God to the woman.

The desolate woman u mentioned has nothing to do with a virtuous woman. Read the end of Proverbs to see her attributes. And yes, men can cheat on their wives whether virtuous or not. That's why I said earlier that a man with good character and who loves his wife like Christ loves the church won't go around cheating.

And I never said the best thing that can happen to a woman or man is marriage. I simply said a gift from God.

And your last paragraph still has nothing to do with what I typed earlier. When a man with the qualities I mentioned above meets a woman with the qualities I also mentioned above, with Christ at the center of their marriage, that marriage is bound to succeed even amidst challenges and storms.

Good character has a lot of qualities inside it.

Personally, I can't choose one over the other because it takes self-control which is part of good character to abstain from sex.

Therefore, I pick virginity + character.

Leave these idiots to be spilling nonsense.

And you wonder why there is high divorce rates and society now littered with bastards?
cheesy They've really underrated virginity and make it seem like that's not all the marriage should be about. Which is true. But it's also important. It's as important as character and every other thing. But for those who got raped or lost it due to bad circumstances, every other good attributes they have will top it.

What has virginity got to do with character? Oh because the bible says so. Got it. Nigerians and sexual morality. When it comes to other forms of morality then they'll be like "you know what? We can ignore that".

The two is important but character is importanter. whilst virginity brings more indept trust, pride to the man... many men of this dispensation don't seems to know the joy in there for a man to be the one who disvirgin his wife not girlfriend....

story! can you compare a 20 yrs old virgin to a older virgin. i have a skinny married lady wu got married at 21 as a virgin. but she hump at any strong thing inside the trousers. she just left my place dis morin, lol she is badder than bad. her husband is even a pastor. luckily for him she is very calm and well mannered. (1) virginity (2) Character (3) Sexual promiscuity.

number (3) has nothing to do with (1) and (2)

Some ladies are naturally frigid, ans as a result, finds it easier to run from sex,

By the time you marry them in that virgin state, you would realise that it was their dislike for sex that made them keep themselves, not any moral virtue, And your sex life will suffer for ever. while dey will be bragging that they married as virgins, meanwhile their husbands are suffering sexually,

There was this babe. The girl managed to convince one pastor that she was a virgin. On their wedding night she made all the right sounds as if she has never had sex before. Virginity goes a long way to tell how disciplined and moral a person can be and how high morality is important to a person. But please please please and please.

Relationship is much more complicated than just being moral and being a virgin. Any partner for me must be intelligent and smart and understand how to act properly in social settings. A social intellectual is what I regard as character in a woman.

Chastity Is very dear to me but character can’t be underrated, it is something I cannot look away. It is a live safer for any man that wants to build a good family.

So I choose character

Lol "Nigerians and sexual morality", whereas it's now "Nigerians and sexual immorality". I'm not claiming holy neither am I condemning anyone doing otherwise, but sex is meant to be in marriage. Wait.....let’s be real.... for once, let’s forget the picture Hollywood and pornn has fed this generation with, including religion or whateva...

Am I supposed to be happy the woman I’m going to marry has been drilled by 10 other men with a couple of abortions to match....??
There’s nothing nice about it.
...so I don’t get why you people try to paint the picture that there’s nothing wrong with not having bodily discipline.

That picture is a hollywood script...walk into a bar or club ... have sex with random strangers spontaneously ( have u noticed Hollywood acts movies like condoms don’t exist, arbortion don’t exist, like sex is always magical and everything is cool after wards)

over the years people have just come to overlook these things...largely becos u can’t even get 1 virgin out of 100 girls anymore... so the available has become the desired.....that doesn’t mean we should now make chastity an old school thing.

Sex is not food...this our generation treats sex like they need it for breathing...
Virginity is my first criteria for marriage.
I have met a few virgins and I'm studying them to know their true characters.

The bible warned against marrying a harlot. The issue is, how do you know if a woman is a harlot or not? You don't. So I refuse to play a game that is rigged against me.

I'd rather not get married than marry a non-virgin who's most likely a refurbished LovePeddler.
