Millimann:
I nearly had this kind of experience in Abuja some years back. My saving grace was that I noticed it on time and drew the attention of the security and management.
In New World Hotel, Ikeja, three of us were in a lift halfway when power was cut. We got trapped.

The girl in our midst started to cry: “is this how I am going to die.”

We were nearly suffocating when power returned.

Using lifts in a country of rampant power failures is very risky.

Ehya. It's your job to enforce how I must feel. If I'm not shedding tears then I must be a terrible person.
But if you weren't overcome by some gratuitous self-righteousness you would have comprehended that I said the girl is funny and not the incident, funny in this sense meaning strange.
Because whether or not you admit it, stepping into a dark empty opened space hoping that the elevator magically appears is quite strange.
You are just daft! Is this the time to teach English?

No it's not.
But every time is a time to rationally think things through before you jump to conclusions.

So how did my previous comment imply that any of your claims are wrong. Infact, I agree. But I found it strange she just stepped straight into it.
It's fine if you don't. But what I don't understand is why are you then calling for my head? Self-righteous too much?
.

You talk like a fool, go out on Instagram and repeat same nonsense if you are NO HYPOCRITE or a righteous fellow

On the other hand, had some of the lift does been left open in the vid, it would have been obvious that lifts were faulty. Approach a lift, and it is yawning open, you usually wonder why. An open lift is likelier to put you at your guard than one that is closed and normal seeming . Generally, though, warning signs, tapes or and chevron barriers are in place to alert public.
What exactly are you trying to say?
Comparing locked faulty elevators that were forced to open by the victims to a faluty elevator that was left wide open?

How is it strange for someone to enter a lift which has its doors open?

this is so sad, the hotel management deserves to be sued, RIP to the lady though.
But really nowadays you will hardly see a smart and intelligent lady in 9ja, I really think women should work more on their intelligence and way of thinking, instead occupying their brains with irrelevant things. I can't help but wonder why someone will just unintentionally throw herself inside a dark pit, why will someone even enter a dark elevator in the first place even if it's working

Maybe you should read my previous comment you quoted. Was it only about it been opened?
I'm not saying that she deserves what happened or anything like that, but I just found it strange. Simple

Air is the safest means of transportation. You risked your life taking a bus. How many plane crash have happened in Nigeria this year compared to number of road accidents. Maybe you preferred bus because you are scared of height.
My though exactly. Someone that shud choose flight than road trip is thinking road is safer than air. He is truly a village man

As in.

The viewers are insensitive. The lift was faulty and nothing there alerted the victim of the possible danger. Why was the lift door open with no sign to indicate a fault?

Tragic scene but the woman does not deserve the blame for the fatal fall.
Whoever blames this girl must be insane. In a sane society, that hotel would be closed down and the management sued.

What a careless society where human life is no longer scared. A faulty elevator has it's door left opened by a careless hotel management and anow precious life is Lost.
But who cares since it's not one of their own.
Re: A Lady Killed By Asaba Hotel Lift - Caught On CCTV (Photos) by Kelvin30286063(m): 1:11pm On Nov 05, 2020
Anyone that hasn't used a lifter before would have fallen into that pit. The hotel should be closed down for this. It's wrong! You put a death trap inside your hotel and you have the gut to blame her. Say she didn't wait for the lifter, did you put any sign there that says wait for the lifter ni? Thunder fire them!

The lift door should not be open when it is not ready to receive passengers. The hotel management should definitely be held responsible for her death.
And they we're foolish enough to post it online, they are definitely getting their sued.
