I am just fed up and tired of this Government.
What is all this about Sef,

FRSC on a normal ground without gun will rob motorist with Nothing less than ,200# to 2000#, Now imagine them with gun, their price will increase to #500 to #4000.

Hoooo NIGERIA my country. what is all this.

Our law makers are the problem of this country. Old men with old reasoning. How can one suggest road safety to carry firearm. We are just recovering from SARS you want to bring another problem to road users. 85% of road users in Nigeria don’t have road safety requirement. Such as spare tire, extinguisher, tire expire date, road signs etc. if you give them firearm, they will be worst than SARS. Ask my fellow car owner they will tell about road safety behavior on our roads. I don’t blame law makers because if they are driving with their siren and tinted Jeeps road safety don’t stop them. So for that reason they can implement laws for road safety to carry firearm.

In a working country, technology would have aid their job easily, From Speed camera, Vehicle plate number Identification etc

No need standing in the middle of the road by endangering yourself and the motorist in the name of checking car documents

Defaulters can be made to pay their fines by directly debiting their account (If we have a working central database) hence eliminating corruption amongst the FRSC officials

But no.. to carry gun dey sweet them

FRSC are even worse than police on the road without Guns cos even with your vehicle papers ok once they collect your driver's licence they will be looking for other excuses like your plate number, tyres and other nonsense just to collect money, I use to respect them before but lately they are very useless set of people.

FRSC that is supposed to be scrapped. There is absolutely nothing they do that can't be done with upto date computer data base, proper documentation and speed camera detectors.

When we should be deliberating on reducing nuisance you are arming it. Those you armed are still caught up in various extra judicial killings

Exactly. They don't excel at doing what road SAFETY corps should do. They excel at agbero stuff. The idea of stopping motorists at risk of life and limb is far outdated. Just register each car and have a direct debit annually. No vehicle will be unregistered, and if the ownership changes, simply deregister the car.
Plus, the direct debit means the funds generated go directly into the government coffers.
IF THEY MEAN TO ENDANGER OUR LIVES, MAKE LIFE HARD OR UNBEARABLE FOR US THE CITIZENS, BACK TO SENDER!

I don't believe this to be true at this time when we are still dealing with police brutality and unnecessary shooting.

#Gun!
Say no to gun except you're calling for war indirectly and variable distributing it for same purpose.

Our people have been outside this country and they know how things work. This is what you call wickedness.

Hitherto, if they don't know, invite expertise from these countries and let them school us.

I'll limit my experience to road network:
Other international countries respect road signs and laws.

They've good road, accident is rear.
You mistakenly hit someone, you pay a compensate fine of N500k to the victim, and if your Driver's license is not revoked be happy, the cheapest cost of getting a driver's license is N600k that's
If you pass a sitting unlike our N21k to get 5 years card.

Police hardly carries gun and if they do, it's pistols. You may spend years without seeing their military personnel.

Let our policy makers be wise.

Good news

Nigerians only fear Guns

Many Frsc officers have been killed by reckless drivers (hit and run)

If Nigerians were law abiding there will not be need for these officers to carry gun

Let's look at it this way, a driver driving a commercial vehicle tries to run from a FRSC official but before getting away, the official opens fire at the driver but he misses the careless driver but the bullet hits a passenger in the vehicle. Then what happens?

For those who remember, FRSC at the onset had authority. Sighting them from a distance puts some fear in you. The thought of meeting them makes you ensure your vehicle is in good shape with all other requirements. They book you and send you to a different location to pay. The did not collect bribes. They had authority without guns.

Now they need guns because that authority has been lost. They have lost honor as their hands are soiled with bribes. Now they need guns to enforce the authority they've lost
