Guys, I am a staff of FRSC and I can say that we need an armed squad, though not to stand on the road but to sit in the patrol van and watch to protect our patrol men and women from mob attacks. If I show you guys gorry pictures of our personnel's knocked down and killed and mobs attack our men. We even record cases of our men being killed by get away armed robbers. If not the way Nigeria is I would have left the job for something better. Last time an orderly to a politician shot our men for simply standing by the side of the road. We are parents too and need protection too. We are constantly harassed simply because we are accused of taking bribe. Is that enough reason to take our lives. On the brighter side, we can assist the police to fight highway robbery. The police is currently overwhelmed. With sufficient training we will be better than the police in the use of arms.
That is because your Men don't face their real jobs.
What concerns you with stopping vehicles to ask for particulars?
You are to remove impediments to safe driving on the roads and not become an impediment.
Most states have some form of traffic control officers like LASTMA in Lagos in addition to traffic Police.
Your job should be on the interstate roads like the Lagos-Ibadan Express road to ensure accident free driving for travelers and assist accident victims!

If you people do your work perfectly, there shouldn't be all that accident you mention. is Nigerians not driving in others countries, how many police high ways control have they kill in others countries?

How can a FRSC official jump in middle of the road to stop a vehicle in high way without expecting knock down. what are you stopping the vehicle for? how many FRSC office suppose to stop 1 vehicle in a day? why is it that papers that produce by FRSC office to drivers will be later faulted by another FRSC officer on the road? if there's fault in vehicle particulars, is it the driver you suppose to hold responsible or the road safety office the issue the particulars? you get knock down because you out their to suffer masses and steal their money.

Nigerian haven't grow to level of forcing people to use some special Tyre because of this and that, even all might south African are not driving with that class your forcing Nigerians to jump into. even all the vehicle using by government department drive any tyre they can afford. you don't force hungry man to have peace. give him food and he will have peace. you people are cause untold hardship to masses and you now want gun to kill those you will label offender.

Do you're job as it suppose and earn your respect, gun can only create more enemy to the FRSC. there's Godooo
I think you say this completely out of ignorance, what prompts our increased is because most accidents are human factor caused. They are from people's carelessness. Overloading, use of phones while driving and even bad tyres. We stand on the highway to stop vehicles because we cannot create road blocks as our goal is to removal road obstructions to ensure free flow of traffic, hence our standing on the road to stop a vehicle is inevitable. If an FRSC official do fake papers for you, you have the liberty to raise red flags by reporting that official. That's why it is advisable to go to the office and get your documents done there.

Re: FRSC To Carry Guns – House Of Representatives by greatbuc(m): 8:35pm On Nov 06, 2020
I don't like fooling myself.. 80% of us have either said, heard or read someone say they'll rather hit them off than wait to be checked. They said people have been taking to their words inflicting various injuries on them. They also said they will assist police in curbing robbery and terrorists/kidnapping attacks on the highway so we lots can go about our businesses.
One thing I noticed is that drivers prefer given these officers bribes rather than letting them do their job.. If they did their job na bigger problem for drivers so who actually is complaining. There are bad eggs no doubt but look at your family tree, don't you have bad eggs in that small family of yours.. That one brother that will open the pot of soup first.. E fit be say na you be that bad person for office.. You steal unclaimed items, you over charge your customers because they were naive.. You inflate prices of items you were sent to buy.. You ask for money in exchange of your duty.. You go to a fellow Nigerian's store and loot his wares.. You openly defecate in public and urinate anywhere you get pressed.. You throw thrash in drainages and out of vehicles.. You keep space for your friend on a queue knowing that he is coming late. Should I continue?
Brothers and Sisters. These people were once like you.. They were not born wearing uniforms and hated the idea of being arrested too. There are no bad Cops.. It's just bad people who joined, good people who have been cheated by the system, greedy ones picked from the labour market either at random or selected. You cannot clean the system.. It's like cleaning the entire human race. Just be law abiding and make sure if you get offended.. Seek justice with obvious proof. Get spy cams, get a lawyer and cashout!!

You guys don't need to stand on the road stopping vehicles with no exact criteria as to who gets stopped ( no methods, rickety transporters pass by then you stop fine cars).
Modernise!!! Have a good biometric system, fine the employers or driver's, have CCTV on roads to capture plate numbers of defaulters then fine them or increase their fines. Only chase or stop those you find to have pending cases on checking their plate numbers on the system or problems with rear car lights or reckless drivers noticed on the highway.
If you need a check point, set it up properly with warnings far ahead of the stop zone to slow down.
You officers have no business running into highways to stop vehicles to vehicles... It's highly unethical and if I'm on high speed, I won't stop suddenly if you guys come out of the blues, it's against the driving rules and you guys should know better.
And better stay off bad rounds... We can't be paying double for the sins of our tax collectors

So now with gun you can reduce the accident or you fire and kill any one that fail to stop. From road safety to road killer. There's no reason to carry gun no matter how you defend it.

All I will say is... Nigerians should burn alive any govt official who does extrajudicial murder on citizen because he or she is trigger happy.
Catch them and burn them.

Until people fight back they will be taken for granted by those they elect to see to the affairs of the nation on their behalf. Being in govt does not make you better than those who put you there.

The day you learn that the rich just want to kill the poor at all cost...is the day you’ll understand society.

These fcoons want to prepare for a possible “protest” In future.

Every uniform will be carrying guns...

Against unarmed citizens.

Wickedness
