I haven't been seeing any interview transcripts/news from Abuja consulate.. Is it that nothing is happening there? Cos I'm waiting for my emergency appointment to be approved and I'm nervous @ this point
Have you gotten an appointment date at the Abuja consulate?

Ftos:

Please, when did you send the emergency request?
I sent mine this Friday, but I have not heard from them.
Is yours at the Abuja consulate and have you gotten an appointment date?

Good morning bosses.

I intend choosing the Abuja consulate when filling out my DS-160 but I haven't been able to confirm if any one have had a recent interview there or anyone has an appointment date.

Has any one had an interview there of recent or is scheduled to have an interview in the future?

Your response would be very much appreciated.

Hello Everyone

Great job Fairheart!! Please I have been to the US and UK and some other places previously, so my travel history is good. In my previous US B1/B2 visa I filled I was going to stay with my aunt who is a citizen as my place of contact. Fast forward 3/4 years later and I got admission to a school in that same city and state. I work although my mother is my sponsor as filled in my DS160 form. I have a scholarship of about $3k while my sponsor(mum) is to pay 28k as reflected in my I-20

1) What should be the reason I choose this particular school if I am asked (Since its on record that I have previously been there on my last visit and I have a relative there) ? because I can’t use the excuse of grant seeing as the major fund is parent sponsored.

2) I heard you could submit different proof of funds (Statment of account, T-bills letter, Invetment holdings) What is the most advisable sum total for a 28k deficit

Hi guys,
Should I fill nysc under para military or normal work experience?

Normal work experience. You can explain that it is your NYSC under the job description.

Hi. Good morning.
While you were applying for the expedited date in Abuja. Did the option pop up for you immediately or you had to try again and again after a while.
That option for emergency seems to be inactive for some people so I’ll like to know before I try.

A guy was in your shoe when I went for my interview.
The V.O asked him the number of schools he applied to and to name them. He applied to four schools and the one that gave him admission happened to be in his aunty's city. The V.O said something about them being in the same area and the guy corrected him that not all, that one is in another state. The V.O asked him if he would be staying with his aunty and he said he would be staying there till he gets his accommodation sorted out. His visa was approved. He was going for his undergraduate and his mother was sponsoring him.

Good morning, everyone. Thanks for the transcripts, advice, and encouragement here. You were extremely helpful. God bless you all.
why I'm going down the writing path is true. smiley

These guys have interviewed people long enough to know lying patterns and stuff. Plus, when you deal with humans, you'd learn to watch their faces and decipher speech patterns.

That's all, guys. I wish everyone going the best. Please stay safe. Also, let's just say they're happily giving out visas. Stay optimistic.

God bless you, and good luck!

This was a very nice and interesting read
Congratulations!!

Good afternoon everyone, please I have question.

Will being born outside Nigeria affect my chances of getting a visa? I work in Nigeria but parents live outside Nigeria in another Africa country. Does thAt show I donot have strong ties in my country?

I was offered a full funding

You will be fine. Your were born outside Nigeria, not applying for the visa outside Nigeria. There's a difference.
Are you carrying a Nigerian passport?

Read this thread, starting from page 1. Everything you need is here, but you have to search for information can can search for. For other questions, you are welcome to ask. Check some of my post using my profile. There were mentions on how to look for schools, etc. But most importantly, mine your own information and ask questions to confirm them.

The issue of strong ties, got me thinking if that would be an issue, since parents don’t reside in Nigeria.

Goodluck with it. Was it a normal appointment or an emergency appointment. If emergency, when did you book it online?
I look forward to your response.

Visa Approved

The moment of truth came around 8:00am and I was called in. Did my Biometrics and my interview went as thus;

VO: pass me your documents
Me: passed

VO: Why are you going to the US
Me: To resume in person for my doctorate program at FSU, Tallahasee

VO: why FSU?
Me: I was given a full ride that covers my tuition, health insurance and also leaves me with generous stipends. Secondly, I will be working with Prof. XYZ that works on cancer mechanobiology with the aim of understanding how tumors neighboring cells affect metastasis.

VO: what cancer will you be working on?
Me : Pancreatic

VO: I'm approving your Visa. Go with ya I-20 when traveling and move to window 22 to pay your reciprocity fee.
