I've been hearing about people sleeping off on the wheels while driving and crashing their vehicles. Some of them lost their lives to such accidents. In all of these, I have never experienced it. Anyways, today I had mine but luckily it was in traffic and as such the damage was very minor. I had the music playing high enough but my windows were shut cos the ac was on. I didn't know when I dozed off until the bang from hitting the car in front of me, woke me up. I quickly put the car in park and came down to see if the damage was much and also apologized to the man in front. I explained to him that I dozed off and just gave him a pat on the back as I said sorry. The wife was asking me if everything was okay(in a compassionate manner) and I told her I was fine. I felt embarrassed in a way as I got back to my car... Couple of people in the hood who knows me and were passing at the time too, were signaling to me from their cars to ask if everything was okay...

Anyway, I was lucky I wasn't on a high way when I dozed off cos I probably wouldn't have been alive to create this thread...lol.

If you have been unfortunate to sleep off while driving, share your experiences and let's laugh a bit.

It was a terrible experience, don't even know how to say it, I crashed two bottles of legend with a goat head, a memorable crashing.

I had been driving for a very long time but despite windows being wide open, music and etc, My car had switched lanes seriously as I was PROPERLY dozing off.

Thank God it was night time so practically no cars on the road, no police either to have pulled me over. I kuku just came off the motorway(!) and found one carpark to sleep jejely.

Sleep isn't something that jumps on you out of the blues...You feel tired, then a bit drowsy, then more drowsy before everything shuts down...what will it then take you to get off the wheel before you start slipping in and out of sleep?

...Walai if na me, the only thing you will pat is my account with funds to fix the result of your carelesness....and then i make sure you sleep very well for at least one night in a Police Cell, since you no gree sleep for your house

Abi when you run into a market and kill people while sleeping at the wheel, that's how op will come down and pat their corpses while telling them "Sorry...I slept off Jare..but i am ok"

Sleeping while driving is the worst mistake a driver can make.

Yeah..i hope you will also "lol" if someone driving a Dangote truck gets tired in traffic and rams into you...Even if you die in the process, na minor somtin since staying long in traffic is a very valid excuse for dozing off and putting yourself and other road users at risk


And yes...na everybody dem dey arrest troway inside cell just like that....Connection dey pass connection...You only know your own connect, not another person's....dem go lock you and your connect join and nothing will happen

Stay humble and alive...or if you dey find death, sha try to die alone and not take others with you...feel free to doze off while driving and jump off 3MB ...That way, na only you waka...if your news makes nairaland we go just type "Ehya" and move on with better things

Some of you are so bitter to the extent that you just look for every avenue to pour out your frustration. Thankfully, the couple are not dolts who spend a bunch of their time hyperventilating and fuming over nothing on the internet. You're just ranting about "how you will deal with someone for hitting your car" like say na you first buy car for this life. A poor man's mentality always shines through when you see one even when he/she tries to act like he/she has sense. You're busy ranting like a rabid dog over car that is not your own like I set out to go and sleep on the wheels... The difference between you and them is so far. They're not on your bleeped up dumb level where an accident happens and the next thing you do is to start acting like a mad dog even when nothing happened to your car. Na people like una go buy Toyota camry and the whole world no go hear word say una done buy motor. And yes, I'm a common car dealer and it pays my bills and I love it and I repeat "it's not everybody that police will just arrest and throw inside cell" and that's a fact. I don't need to explain nothing to you.

Don't drive when tired or sleepy , don't be unfortunate. If you wan die, die alone, don't endanger other road users in the process.

I was in traffic that wasn't moving for a while, and there wasn't an opportunity to even pull over and it wasn't like I was even feeling sleepy before I set out. Some things just happen and you can't explain. Maybe I was a bit tired from accumulated stress but wasn't sleepy from the go.

It's normal op....but I HV not experienced such sha.....
