Enugu Gets Modern Bus Shelters To Replace The Previous Ones Damaged By Hoodlums (Photos)

IgbereTV reports that the Governor Ugwuanyi-led administration of Enugu State has provided Enugu City with over 194 modern bus shelters to replace the previous ones unfortunately destroyed by hoodlums, during the hijacked #EndSARS protests.

Speaking to the press, the Chairman of Enugu Capital Territory Development Authority (ECTDA), Dr. Josef Umunnakwe Onoh, commended and thanked Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State for his resilience and expeditious approval for the rebuilding of damaged infrastructure in the state capital.

Fire service. Though I doubt if this was built by the government. I also doubt if the bustop will be built in other places because this is the only rebuilt one I have seen done this way.

I can see Ken Onoh pointing at the sign board. To be honest, this is a very poor design aesthetically for a bustop shelter. They probably gave the contract to a village architect in Nsukka.

You don't biuld stuff like this with bricks because they can easily be removed, relocated or remodelled. Metal, plastic and all that . Those can easily been uprooted and replaced when needed.

Why use fake claddings to imitate clay bricks?
Enugu has some good clay to make real and standard bricks.
I have noticed this on so many buildings. Cheap and fake claddings should be discouraged. With very poor maintenance culture, those claddings would fall off, probably hurt people and leave those shelters looking aesthetically unappealing.

These are very poor designs and definitely won’t last a season.

I advised the youths not to destroy infrastructures and facilities. They will end up awarding bogus sums for replacement to their cronies. This modern bus stop is not even fit for Habib suya and yoghurt spot.
