I attended command day secondary school, odogbo barracks, ibadan. It was Agric assignment and we were told to plant beans. I forgot to plant mine till the deadline elapsed. I finally planted my own on the very day of submission and prayed to heavenly Father for a miracle. Beans refused to grow o. I almost collapsed when aunty asked me for my beans plant. I quietly pointed at the wet loamy soil in my can. The way sergeant Clement flogged me that day ehn... 2. They were chasing school fees defaulters home on this very day. I have paid school fees but I joined the defaulters anyways. We wanted to go and play ps2 and watch Spartacus. One female teacher refused to mind her business and told the soldiers that my mom has paid since last week and I wanted to run away from school . Of course, I denied. . But, after adequate mending, hangings and crawling, I confessed. I suffered gaaaan o....

Sec school is always filled with Bad moments sha, i could still rememba wen i was flogged cos of ma friend david, dis blessed day i'd come to school with ma tatoos that chewing gum tatoo and was showcasing it during our English teachers class, our over serious principal passed bye and saw david wit ma tatoo instead of dave to hide it or say something to cover for flaunting wit ma tatoo he instead told Mr.Principal that am de wan that gave him ah tatoo to see what it looks like

Those are memories I won't forget in a hurry but I will share two
It happened I was in SS2 that year and one morning the VP academics just decided to do general checking and monitoring, so they are sending those guys that their short long beyond their knees and girls that wear gown that didn't reach the knees outside.
So in front of the whole school they are beating all of them girls are to receive 6 strokes of cane while guys are receiving 12. But there was this guy Michael whom we all know to be strong boy decided to turn the whole beating to comedy.
When it reach his turn to receive the 12 stroke, he was just dancing with it and singing along like 123... Before all the teachers could know what's happening the whole assembly started singing along with him by counting along with clap and this annoyed the man that was beating him to the extent he didn't stop at 12 but at 18 still yet bobo mike didn't flinch and this increase the ovation we gave him.
To cut the story short, the principal got involved and declared "festival of cane" instantly
More than half of day was used to beat all the students from JSS1 to SS3. The cry that day is like second ward war.
The whole festival ended at exactly noon and rest of the day was used to nurse our wound individually.

I was in JSS1 2nd term and there was this teacher 'Mr shofoluke' but nicknamed Shofo maybe because of his wickedness, he always beat us with slight opportunity sometimes he would say we didn't great him properly when he enter.
So this unforgetfull day he was beating us as usual for no particular reason so I just decided to teach him a lesson or so I think, I was thinking of what to do before it reach my turn and my eyes just caught up with his shining shoe.
So when it reach my turn to receive "shofo super" I just match his shoe with all my strength, of course it wasn't expected and it pain him from the way he shouted because for like 3 to 4 minutes he release me to nurse his wound but when was he was back for me.......I better not tell you what eyes seen what my ear heard and the thought that came to my mind.

Na touch your toe for my school you no go fit resist two strokes of Cain before you go burst out naso my PADI no do geography homework because he tot Mr oladipupo would not come around on Monday as he used to visit his family every weekend but unfortunately he came around even very earlier for his period naso my PADI won run pass window and caught by the Mr oladipupo himself and ask him why e is running away and he explained that he didn't bring his notebook and naso e come talk sey make everyone brings out his notebook and submit it asap although he used to collect his homework by Tues but my friend turn the Monday morning to a flogging session for almost 80 percent of us and almost everyone now hating my PADI for trying to run away at the first that he might not even brought up the homework stuffs if he was not caught ...Thank God I have my notebook and I gotta copy the homework from someone ASAP but most didn't get the chance they then put the blamed on my PADI

The Cruelty I Came Upon In Secondary School Was More Of Drillin' Or Trainin' To Become Maybe A Force Man Since I Couldnt Tell Why The So Much Hate And Bullyin'. We Were Woken From Sleep With Clappin' Of Hands By The House Captain And Same Clappin' Is Used By Any Senior Student To Assemble Junior Students To Either Send Them To Fetch Water Or Other Errands While Their School Son's Would Be Inside The Room Relaxin'. We Used To Go For Morning Labour By 4am And Na So We Dey Use Torchlit Cut Grass And Them Dey Forced Us Swim Inside The Grass At The End Of The Work. E Get How If You're Just Walking Aimlessly When You Don't Have Anything Doin' Or Maybe Goin Fir Afternoon Prep Might Be Unlucky And Fall In the Hands Of Any Prefect Or Senior Student That Has Been Directed By A Staff To Mobilize Boys That Will Follow Him To Farm Either To Go And Make Ridges, Weed Or Plant Crops. And Na So I Been The Always Fall Victim Because I Been Big Pass My Mates So Them Feel Say I Dey Capable And Na So So Suffer Head With Warm Up Strokes If Cane Whenever We Go For Labour

I only cried once from beating in secondary school and I was in JS2.

This Bitch of a teacher would flog you if you got less than 15/20 in a test in all subjects not just the ones she taught

She would subtract the score you got from 15, multiply by 2 and that's what she would flog you. So if you got 10/20 in two subjects, your cane na 20.


My total cane was 34- one of the lowest strokes of cane in the class sef. But yet the thing pain me enter bone.

There was one boy called Ovie. Na e dull pass. He just dey get 0/20, 5/20. Na him flog there flog after me.

I nor know when I burst laf with the tears for my eye. There flog the boy so tey e fall inside dustbin

One thing I remember about the boy was that he was very artistic

Mine: I am the kind of person who didn't mind receiving any amount of the cane on my hand.

I couldn't stand sb flogging me on my back or elsewhere.


Na so that day reach, oga say if no be back e no go flog. I begged him and even lied to him it's a religious sth that I don't receive canes elsewhere.

He later agreed to flog my hand. The cane was so painful. As I was going to sit, he gave one last cane to my back.

I ran mad immediately scratching the pain. It was just like I was dancing. I was laughed at by the teacher and some students.

I vowed to retaliate on the teacher.


Well, we lost the teacher to death about three months later.

I forgave him and really wish he hadn't died. At least, I discovered there were other positive things about him.


2. There was one huge guy in our class we feared and respected. Na so dem dey flog all of us, we cry as per normal. You must always cry if ‘Uncle Tony’ flogs you. But this huge guy was a staunch cain chester. E reach en turn, dem flog am. He just waka go sit down, come bend head dey cry.

Lol.

I laughed that day like mad. Instead make my guy just bend head there, e come say ‘what if my daddy sees this wound now.. ’ Lol.


3. Egungun came to our school environs. They met one guy and flogged him shege. The guy refused to run so they kept flogging him.

People were like ‘oga run na’

E no gree.

He walked like that to where we gathered. He was already gaining fans as a strong posh guy till e come talk amid tears say ‘I swear I go do this egungun sth. I swear. My brother friend na head of Sarz. ’

I couldn't help it but go to the backyard to laugh out loud.

We were the kids whose clothes are torne for no fault of ours but because our parents could not buy us new ones.
For me, I outgrew my shirt which tore at the back because mom was having hard times fending for us after dad passed.
Some pupils had their buts laid bare at the cetres of both sides of the short in a very funny ways.
The thought of this still sends cold shivers down me at past 40.
It is an experience that haunted my childhood and almost marred my personality development.
To those teachers, I plead for Gods mercy on their heads.

Hmm secondary school days , can I still remember

I always get flogged for reasons best known to the teachers , not because I'm stubborn but because of the company I roll with
I'm this calm and understanding student every teacher would love to mentor , but my love for comedy and lil funny jokes always get me into trouble
I'm a loner and I was living with my strict step sister and she was married with kids , I'm never punctual because I'll have to get the kids set for school and she goes to work early

I was given the post of an head boy but I refused cuz I'm never punctual , and once an head boy isn't in school, everybody must know lol

They later offered me the position of punctuality prefect I still reject them flog and force me tire

I was the only brilliant student in my crew , and I enjoyed their company cuz they're so funny , and that's how I get counted among them when trouble comes

There was this pretty Muslim lady that joined the ss2 set , we were ss3 students though , omo mehn no liver to approach this babe and I love her die
Sometimes when we're on break period and I'm with my friends , immediately I sight her I'll just exit from their circle and go sit in the class , I become simp lol
Still yet no liver to approach her , one faithful day yawa start Sha

As usual I was late to school , me and three other friends
It's either you pass through the principal's office or you take the back of his office , mist times we take back
But I noticed he hardly stops anyone who's passing his front cuz he's actually a gentleman

As we they form ss3 seniors we sef pass the front and the time 10:34 am

But fear who no fear government teachers especially female's
Our government teacher was the most feared in the whole school, he wahala no they finish

she came out cuz the teacher's office is just attached to the principal's office

Immediately she came out we already knew we were don for that whole month not even week sef , which means you must call ur parents
And that's one thing I've never done in my while life , me invite my parents come school ke, poor boy like me chai poverty Sha

Govt teacher: all of you kneel down there , very useless students

And ss2 class is very close and I was standing close to the window sit where that my crush was , that's why I didn't even explain why I'm late lol
I didn't want her to know I'm among the students that are being questioned

Omo my guys japa (ran) , omo I join them o , else na me go provide all of them and the flogging no be beans at all

We enter bush go hide for my guy side, that one no dey bother come school at all except Friday when football sure to play
His dad is the chairman of the vigilantes in the area
Instead of laying low to avoid criticizers seems were on uniforms , we turned it into gambling

We brought out WHOT (cards) to play , we started gambling with money
I was actually doing well in the game , all of a sudden I started having this unpleasant feeling like something's about to happen

And then it happened , y'all don't wanna know what Happened , a story that hasn't healed till date , just like yesterday

i major on photography, so, I can only speak on photography, majorly. Cinematography is a bit different. My advice to you is to focus on one. Focus on one first, be a pro at it, and then you can spread your wings to other things. If you cram yourself up, I can assure you, it might not be wise. Focus on one first bro. Peace.

No matter how diligent, intelligent, quiet and so on you are, if you avoid having personal problems with teacher you must have group problems which make the teachers more happier
The likes of MR OLAGBENRO, MR TJ, MR ADEBIMPE, MR OMOFOYE, MR OYELOWO, MRS SALEWA, MR OMOBOSOLA. These people will beat you and make the entire class spent days cutting grass

Life in Secondary school was fun but no matter the sweet experience there were bad times
im proud to be an ex commando but im not proud of the beating and punishment
I just cant forget the day oga clement came to our class jss2c to seize phone due to the fact that it is against the rules of cdssi to bring phone to school, Luckily fro me i did not bring phone to school that fateful day
Oga clement told the class captain to point out people who are of the habit of bringing phone to school
na so gloria started pointing people i was praying in my mind that gloria should not point me
na so gloria shouted idris come out
my heart started palpitating cos oga clement was a wicked soldier then that i felt like the ground should swallow me up
I manned up and started shouting at gloria unconscious of the soldier in front of me cos of the fear
as i pointed at gloria in demonstration of what i was saying
oga clement hit me with the fat cane he was holding at my wrist
that was how my wrist was broken
it is against the rukes of my school for parent to come and complain so i was treated at home and the case was closed

The second scenario was kinda tough on me
Most of my classmate in school den have the habit of keeping their bank draft instead of submitting it to the bursary as validation of payment of school fees cos cdssi always send us home for school fee so some will go and play ps 4 outside instead of going home and some will go to there friends house to play ball
On this bad day my mum gave me my bank draft to go submit in school cos they've being sending me home for days but on getting to school the soldiers said they are going to send us all home cos there were so many defaulters that morning
they rounded us all up to be sent home and majority of my friends though they've paid the school fees but wanted to go and watch merlin at a friend house so i joined them and failed to submit the bank draft...i was happy they were going to send us home cos i wanted to go and learn one of merlin's magic and authur fight
After the soldiers rounded us all up, i was thinking they will send us all home, shockingly we were told to all drop our bag and go lie down on the field, that they will beat us 8 stroke of cane each
i couldn't tell them that i have the bank draft in my bag cos that will be extra punishment
that was how the soldiers descended on us ooo
the way they were beating the others and the way the cane was landing on their back was making all my body shake
i started regretting my action at that moment
the kinda fear that catch me was out of this world
They got to me, gave me the 8 stroke, Afterwards we were told to all go pick cutlass and start cutting grass
we worked from around 8-11:30
momma saw my back when i got home but told her i was punished cos all the class were making noise so we were all flogged
so many experience cos i was stubborn then but everything na history now
