Oh I see. Thank you. NYSC helps a lot of people, they should leave it like that for us abeg.
Mmamaroon:

Newmum, recent brouhaha from GCMS notes where VO said NYSC was an internship programme. The issue (just my view) looks more like an NOC mismatch and missing ref letter problem. Applicant provided LOE instead. Applicants choosing managerial NOCs (starting with 0) for NYSC also seem unpopular with VOs - they may be thinking how can a recent graduate plan, direct and coordinate the affairs of a firm/department?

Got the PPR mail. I've been a silent follower of this thread and can’t help but share my story too. Only God can repay everyone contributing to make this thread an invaluable one. I just recommend this thread to anyone that asks me about EE.

Timeline
IELTS: LRWS – 8.5, 8.5, 7, 7
ECA: ICES BSC
Score: 1035
ITA: 30th October 2019
AOR: 8th November 2019
MEP/BIL: 27th November 2019
PPR: 16th November 2020
VO: Nova Scotia
Single Applicant.

Decision to Travel
First heard about express entry in January 2017 from my uncle. At that time, I was thinking I’m already in the US and should not need to move. Will probably find a job to file for me or a wife (people make it seem so easy). Fast forward to November 2018, I thought I didn’t want a status to determine my marriage and getting a straight PR makes more sense. I started researching the process and making moves.

ECA
My school’s registrar is a family friend so it was pretty much easy to run. I used ICES but can’t remember how long it took.

IELTS (LRSW)
I did not prepare much for the exam. I started looking for available date in November 2018. The earliest I saw at first was March 2019 and I felt it was too far away. Kept searching and in December, as I was about to go on a travel, I saw an opening for first week of January. I registered and was able to pay before liftoff. I basically used 2 weeks to prepare and with God, I passed.

ITA
I was on 435 and the cutoff that period was around 450 or so. I was in grad school but didn’t want to wait till after to start the process. It was my back up plan though. Luckily, Ontario invited me to apply for their nomination around August and I did. I applied same week because I had easy access to most of the documents. Was approved after 2months and got ITA on October 30th. I submitted my application on November 8th and got AOR instantly. Paid for the application and RPRF once because I read somewhere that it makes one’s application faster…sighs!

REFERENCE LETTER
Easy to get too. Submitted the reference letter from the only

POF
Took a risk here and thankfully, it paid off. I decided to use my naira account, same one I used for my Ontario application. I was not in a position to leave almost 4m sitting in my account for 6months. I had to make huge deposits after the ITA, submitted an LOE stating that the huge deposit was because I had to pull funds from my business and investments. I made sure to transfer the chunk from an account in my name though.

PCC
Getting both FBI clearance and Nigeria PCC was pretty much straightforward too.

AOR/MEP/BIL
June 25/July 25/July 26

POST AOR
I was confident the PPR would come fast, probably before the 6months timeline but how I was wrong. After submitting in November 2019, I just left it and focused on school. Graduated in February 2020 but still was not worried about the application yet. After 4 months, I decided to raise a CSE to figure my visa office and was told Nova Scotia. I remained calmed till ending of April when it was almost 6months. I started thinking about what could have gone wrong. Maybe it was the huge deposit. Sent a CSE and got the normal reply that they are still working on it. After the 6months elapsed, I decided to call them, I was told everything is cleared which calmed me down. Been waiting since then, sending some CSE but getting the generic response. On the 9th of August, I ordered for my GCMS, got it on the 27th and saw Review required. Everything is passed but the huge deposit was mentioned. I started wondering what to do…submit a new statement or not. Decided to wait for an ADR if needed. Sent another CSE asking for the status in October but got the generic response still. Nov 4th, a friend shared a post with me about someone whose COPR expired before IRCC got back to them saying an agent advised contacting them about readiness to travel when everything looks good on the GCMS. I decided to try it. I sent them this in a CSE on the same day: “I will like to state that I am ready to travel and to know the current status of my application. I ordered my GCMS notes and everything looks good but there is still no update on my profile in months. I have heard of people's COPR getting expired before they even get the ready for passport email and do not want that happening to me. Also, my medicals expires next week. Will I be doing a new one or it will be extended for me?”

PPR
After a full week without any reply, I decided to order another GCMS last week Friday and also tried calling but couldn’t get through. I was going to continue calling on Monday but woke up to find the mail sitting there, waiting for me. Thought I was dreaming or imagining it at first but it is real and I am so grateful. Hope and pray it ends happily for everyone on this journey.

U can use a prepaid dollar card. I got one from zenith bank. But u still have to fund it yourself from black market. The Canadian equivalent is usually the bank's cross currency rate for that day

Dear Lawyers,

CES evaluated my LLB as a PROFESSIONAL DEGREE.

So I started my evaluation January 2020 because IQAS was on a break and I don’t have a masters. I called CES to ask how they evaluate LLB and I wasn’t given any conclusive answer and was asked to make my application. I decided to go with CES since WES and LLB are enemies.

I paid 420CAD to evaluate both LLB and BL degree so I as to get points for 2 or more degrees. My application was submitted January 8th, transcript received February 24th and then COVID happened. I totally forgot about the application and started the process all over with IQAS. Finally scaled through transcript phase but “fortunately” I haven’t been able to pay for IQAS due to the daily limit and dollar limit issue.( which is now a blessing )

November 10th, CES sent me a mail saying they can’t assess my BL as it was outside their scope of evaluation and my 210CAD would be refunded within 2 weeks. It is was refunded 3days later.

I got the email with a soft copy of my evaluation and First professional degree in Law was staring right at me. So it was worth the wait. If you are patient enough and IQAS is wasting your time, you can go ahead evaluate your LLB degree with CES.

Thank you. I'll do that right away.

The notes say CPC-Ottawa as the primary and Accra as the secondary.
That would mean that an aspect of your application is being assessed by Accra VO. And Accra seems to be on pause mode now even for post ppr applicants.
Nevertheless, let's keep hope alive.

Hello Everyone,

I am new here

I ordered GCMS notes and what i can infer from there is that my application was approved since march.

All my correspondence with the canada office has been replied with "Your application is in process and the responsible office will be in touch soon"

Is there a way i can fast track the Copr/ppr? a number to call, an email address to send love letter to?

I'd appreciate any form of response to help me

Thank you

Try prayers. That's the only sure way. Cheers

I need clarifications. My spouse and I have our IELTS results and my ECA. However my Spouse’s ECA is not ready yet.

Can I create a profile in the pool and add his ECA when it’s ready or should I just hold on till it’s ready before I create our profile.

Below is my IELTS Story from the 6th Thread.

Hello Everyone,

Trust we are all prepared for the 2019 train?

I will just like to share my IELTS testimony and encourage someone out there going through the wilderness of IELTS. My timeline is as follows:

Attempt 1= 1st Feb. 18 LRWS 8,8,6,7.5 (BC)
Attempt 2= 12th May LRWS 8, 6.5, 6, 7.5 (EOR W=6.5) IDP
Attempt 3= 18th Aug. LRWS 8, 8.5, 6, 7.5 (EOR W,S =6.5, 8 ) BC
Attempt 4= 13tH Oct. LRWS 8.5, 8, 6.5, 7 (EOR W,S =6.5, 8 ) BC

At this point i was just tired!!! After putting so much effort (after using JAY & LIZ writing materials and videos) i could not get above 6.5. I also made a call for Help here ohhh.... but no one offered assistance. Anyways while reading through the tread @Distinct777 mention that he/she used the materials on this site (https://www.ieltsadvantage.com) for writing....

Attempt 5= 15th Dec LRWS 8.5, 9, 7, 7.5 IDP

All praise be to God!!!! It ended in Praise!!!
