Guys,

What are your thoughts on doing 1st semester online from Nig to save costs on accommodation, living expenses etc and then going in April for the rest of one's progrmme? Trying to weigh my options.
Many people did that in the fall because they didn't have a choice. With the uncertainties surrounding travel and the pandemic, I'd advise that you travel as soon as you can. Online classes in Nigeria are subject to many issues too. It won't as easy as you think. It's certainly possible but not easy.

Hello please try to calm down. Definitely the communication fault is from VFS. I submitted 2 weeks ago and whenever i tracked it, it said it was received at the VAC for collection (probably collection here meant collection by IRCC).

Three days ago, i received two emails where one said decision envelope was received at the VAC and would be forwarded to VAC and the other said it was in transit to IRCC. Some people that got the same emails said VAC claimed they were error messages.

In my own view, i dont think so but they probably told them they were error messages because they would be contradicting the first mail they sent ever before these two (the one that confirmed that the courier company had it delivered to them and that it was dispatched to IRCC). I think the first one is likely to be either erroneous or incorrectly written.

Why do i think so? Because when i tracked it on the delivery date it said "received at VAC and ready for collection" but a day after i received those two emails, the tracker said "sent to the visa office" which means the sending took effect when they sent the second of the two mails three days ago.

They are definitely making progress but just communicating poorly. Let's be calm. It shall be well.

Dear Nairalanders, please I need help to understand what this means.

I just tracked my passport on the website now and it says my passport has bn collected from the canada visa application centre lagos on 17th. I'm worried because somebody we submitted passport together, paid for passport return same day collected hers yesterday. So I want to know if this means UPS already has my passport.

P.S I'm using an agent for my application and I haven't gotten my LOI and counterfoil details at least, so he says

Good Afternoon Mr Frank,
I sent you an email, please I'll appreciate your kind response.

Thank you

Frankrobbn1:

Nigeria Student Express Program (NSE) have fully been implemented by IRCC to help fast-track study permit processing from Nigeria. Apparently, a good number of applicants have been receiving this update on their CIC account. I will strongly advice prospective applicants who qualify for this route to utilize it because through the NSE program, you will enjoy faster processing within an average of 20 days. More importantly, the process is straightforward once you feel you meet the requirements:

To be eligible for faster processing through the NSE, you must meet the following criteria:

1. Apply online.
2. Be a Nigerian Citizen or legally residing in Nigeria.
3. Have an acceptance from a post-secondary designated learning institution in Canada for a Bachelor's degree, Master's, Phd degree or a Post-Graduate Diploma course.
4. Live outside of Canada when you apply.
5. Have a MyBank certificate showing sufficient funds for your studies (equivalent of $30,000) for at least six (6) months plus 12 months of banking history.
6. Only if you're planning to study in Quebec, you must provide a Certificat du Quebec (CAQ) from the Ministere de Immigration.
7. Get a medical exam before you apply (Upfront Medicals).
8. Have a language test (IELTS) that shows; a score of 6.0 or higher in each skill (reading, speaking, writing, and listening).

I hope this information is helpful to everyone.

It will end in praise

By the way, has your status changed to "Approved?". If so, then you could guess so

It is not bad if you can concentrate and have enough data to pull you through. However, start your application on time. All the best.

My friend got the same mail. I would love to know the response to your question please.

Can she ask for a certificate of exemption from IELTS from her school since they did not ask for it during the application. She is going for her masters.

Good evening everyone, I'm new to this group and I am currently in the process of reading through this thread but I just want to drop some questions.

I have a friend, her mum studied English for her bachelor's about 20yrs ago and is in her final semester for masters in educational administration, she wants to get a Pgd in early childhood education, is that a good course progression?

She's currently 49yrs old and she wants to use this process to take her husband and son of 14yrs, would this be an issue?

She also has a daughter (my friend) who is 20years old, so she can't go under her mum, but she will be going too for her undergraduate studies. How will funding be arranged for them?

They're thinking of choosing University of New Brunswick for the daughter and New Brunswick Community College for the mother. They're not so financially buoyant. Will there be loans available?

I need someone to put me through please.

Please I need help oo

Hi Kimkalash,
I agree with you. I sent my passport to Lagos VAC on the 3rd of November and it was received on the 4th by Festus and transmitted to IRCC on the 5th, as I received the transmission message and tracking number.

On the 16th, I received 2 messages, the first stated a transmission of my passport, and the second stated that processed enveloped has been sent to CVAC Lagos. When I called them, they said that passport processing takes an average of 16 days-meaning it could be more or less. What I forgot to ask them is if it's 16 days or 16 working days. Anyways, we will wait.

Please keep everyone posted, we have the same timeline and profile. All the best.

Please guys, I am in a bit of a dilemma here.

I got this Nigeria Student Express email today. I have toefl of 110/120, and I can't afford writing IELTS again. I have raised a webform to make enquiry on using my TOEFL result instead of IELTS. What do you think?

Also, for the bankstatement, I got funding of about 26,100 CAD per year for 2 years. My tuition is 18.3k cad and I have over 4,000 cad in m bank account. Can I send them a merger of the funding letter and the mybankstatement verification slip?

Please advice guys! I will honestly appreciate.
