Okay. Thanks a lot.

By the way, new passports have the old passports number written somewhere. If the Border officer really intends to inspect and you give them your new passport, it will show the same name and they will see the new and old passport number.

So you don’t even need to tie both with rubber band, just keep the old passport in your back pocket in case they ask for it- dazzal.

hi.. pls is there a way to receive this 69 page document ?

LagosismyHome:

Ok.just had a look at the guidance document. It is 69 pages so no power to read it in details this early morning..

But I think you are right and probably good to go regarding using 6 month to calculate what the annual income might be . Based on 16k in 6 months would mean like 32k annual salary which is over the 18k.

However make sure you read that guidance and absolutely sure that it's ok to proceed

Do you reside in London?.... If yes, before you buy it, check if it passes ULEZ test......

You get higher mileage per tank on diesel, in comparison to petrol........

It's a bit heavy on the foot (due to the block), diesel smells horribly(if it accidentally spills on you) and the horrible gargling engine noise.....

Apart from the aforementioned, if you come from Ijebu...... Buy it........ cheesy

Thanks

Few more questions, diesel cars makes a lot of noise? advisable to buy a car with a lot of milage? 194k. and can I drive with an International DL? my practical test was push to ending Jan next year because of the new lockdown.

Mine is expiring next year. I’m stuck between travelling in a few months to renew it or just leaving everything and renewing here. Don’t know which would be more stressful.

First of all, you need to

Apply for a provisional license
Apply for Theory test and pass it
Take some practical driving lessons to get familiar with the test
Apply for the practical test
Take the test, pass it and apply for license

Search for cars on here:

Autotrader
Facebook market
Shpock
Gumtree

Insurance quote:

Good luck

Buy straight from the show room or second hand forecourt and you can buy online from a private individual or company, these days some companies will deliver straight to your door and you will have 2 weeks to change your mind..
You will need to arrange insurance and pay road tax before you drive it on the road.

Are you getting it free? Why buy a car with 194K miles?....
Before you buy any vehicle, get an insurance quote on your international licence......

Hello,
There is a teaching path going on right now through PGCE
Get into teaching are the ones overseeing the programme through UCAS and UK gov.

Universities and some teaching centres have been partnered also.

You need to have 2.2 at least in maths, physics, chemistry but I am not sure of accounting.

Find out more on Get Into Teaching website.

All the best.

Just to ask, sorry to bother.

As an NHS staff also on an online postgraduate program in UK but on a tier 2 visa, would i qualify for this council tax exemption you Just mentioned?

Yes you are exempted from paying council tax, but you need to email your tax exemption certificate from your University to your council with your details. That is what i did, as i am in the same shoes with you, make i enjoy council tax freedom for one year at least. grin

You will be buying yourself problems. Avoid.

There are cheap reasonable mileage run around for below £1000.

cos I'm seeing some of like 5k pounds.
it's scaring me o.. lool
Re: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by omopapa: 9:42am On Nov 20, 2020
Insurance quotes are relative and are determined by many factors like

Age of driver (under 25s are seen as high risk drivers)
Area where u live (some cities are more expensive than the other
Occupation (some jobs are considered to be at higher driving risk)
Type of car (how economical and cost of the car)
License age (how long u have had ur license)

So as a new driver in the UK and for someone who might not have enough UK driving history it’s expected that the insurance quote will be high.

But u can apply for blackbox (a device that monitors how you drive) this might reduce the quote a little

I would avoid any petrol car over 100k mileage and for diesel 140k mileage, of course except if it has a good service history (with evidence)

Or you add 1 or 2 other drivers who already have a UK driving history to the list of drivers.

Once you have a child or children .... I think your deposit is fair game. It might come back or might not. If it doesnt then that the price to pay.
While living in the former rented flats, my girls wrote on the wall, I cleaned it, bought a white paint from Wilko and painted the walls. It was a job well done to me but when I moved out, the letting agency that did the inspection said the paints were not done by a Professional. I had to agree to let go of £78 for it to be repainted.
This new house, they have splashed some paints on the ceiling again. I have cleaned and painted on it with my white paint hoping that I got this one right otherwise some part of the deposit will go for repainting of the ceiling. It is what it is.

Can a fresh graduate of pharmacy start this process and migrate successfully... I mean someone that has not done internship yet in Nigeria
claremont:

I replied to a similar question in another thread and I listed the steps to take to get qualified. In summary, you will need to apply to the GPhC for approval to undergo the OSPAP conversion course. It's a highly intensive course and not everyone passes it. I would recommend Uni'Sunderland due to their low fees and low cost of living, but their version of the course is also one of the hardest to pass. I know one or two Nigerians who failed the course and had to repeat the whole year. You will be in the same class with your fellow Nigerians, Asians, Australians, Canadians, etc, everyone is there to do the conversion course.

When you have passed OSPAP, you will need to undergo pre-registration training with a provider in the UK. It's a 1 year paid job and it's fairly easy to get a training place. It's basically repeating the same internship training you did in Naija after uni. When you have been signed off by your tutor after the training, you will then need to sit and pass the GPhC licensing exam. You have 3 attempts at passing it. A third fail means the candidate is banned from practicing in the UK. The good news is the vast majority pass it on the first or second attempt. A second point is you have only 4 years from approval of the first stage to go through this whole pathway comprising of the 3 steps. This is a valid point because if you don't get qualified on/before the 4th year ending, you will have to start the process all over again. In terms of Tier 2 visa, I don't know much about it, but I do know a few people who went through the full pathway and are currently working on a visa. I don't know the visa they have.

TL;DR - Pass OSPAP, pass pre-registration training, pass GPhC licensing assessment. Start making money! grin

Why not just use normal post or DHL?..... It would arrive in under 7 days (but be prepared to be slammed an import duty fee)......

For phones you gave eBay/gumtree/FBMP etc etc...... Very risky though........

You could buy the phone legitimately, but a few weeks or months later, seller blacklists it.........

Best to spend £200 buying a new mid ranger, than £600 on a used flagship, that later gets blacklisted......... tongue
