many thanks to those whose transcripts were of great help to me and those who stood by me all through this from application to visa prep and all. Lolade, taheerah, abdulkareem, Alex only to mention few. May God bless you all.

Embassy : WC Lagos
School name: UNT
Funding : 32,718
Program admitted for: PhD chemistry
Visa status: approved

This man in window 11 was just denying people. He has denied about 4 people since I entered the hall. I was just quietly praying that the lady in front of me should go to him and I go to another window. But the lady went to another VO and I was asked to go to him after denying another person again.

VO: Where are you going to?

Me: I'm going to university of north Texas in Denton for my PhD in chemistry with concentration in organic chemistry.

VO:PhD?
Me:Yes

VO: What's by he difference between organic chemistry and inorganic chemistry

Me: Organic chemistry is the study of organic compound while inorganic chemistry is the study of other compd like metals and others( since I can't really remember the definition of inorganic chemistry due to tension)

Then the silence began
VO: Typing
Me: I was quietly saying won't this man ask my another question. Muteness lasted for about 30-40sec.

VO: Are you married
Me: No
VO: Do you have kids
Me: No.. but ( I wanted to tell him why I choose UNT cos I felt he hasn't asked me enough question but sth just tell me to keep quiet.

VO: I want to approve your visa, take this yellow paper to window 22 to pay your reciprocity fee.

Thanks.

Na just God grace oo.
Prepare well and pray well too.

Congrats.

Tell the VO that the school does not require you to take the English proficiency exam.
Because English language is the medium of instruction in your home country(Nigeria)

That’s if nigeria is listed on the English proficiency exemption list on the school website o.

Well the school accepted me but they said I will take a 1 year English program before I start my main major.. They called it the pathway program and the school in particular is Troy University, Alabama

Pls, ensure the waiver is indicated on your I20.

Hello everyone, pls I need assistance. My F1 VISA was denied yesterday Nov 19th.

Please how do I go about re-applying as the earliest date for Lag is April 2021 and resumption is Jan 2021

Please help
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 15 by tmphoto(m): 1:01pm On Nov 20, 2020
If what you just wrote here was probably quoted or written on your I-20, then that’s a big issue as everyone knows that Nigeria is an Official English speaking country so what is the need for now taking a whole academic year for only English.

I also had this sort of admission, but I quickly let go of it. Please try to get an admission without any conditions.

So a friend of mine introduced me to this thread last year Nov, and since then I have been a silent reader, started reading from scratch to date.

One thing it did for me was I knew what to do next and how to go about my admission process, Was mind blowing for me, sometimes I just wish I knew about this thread back in 2015, I for don be citizen by now

Was admitted for Fall 2020 with the same offer then corona happened, almost moved the admission to Fall 2021 cause the funding will not hold with my department for Spring 2021 but after series of emails with my CA, she advised to move it to Spring 2021 and offered to help me get another GAship.

A few weeks later Boom she secured another position for me, she was particular about working with me (GRACE)

Then I knew it was up to me now to get my VISA and JAPA

Next phase was to contact Fairheart, helped me cross-check everything to make sure there were no mistakes. made all the necessary payments, secured an emergency appointment, but it was canceled due to the unrest during the Endsars protest. So they reschedule me for Nov 6th.

My final mock with Fairheart the best, I remember screaming to the top my voice after the mock only thing I had at the back of my mind was to go and get my visa, I forgot the call was still on, dude heard me screaming like a mad man

That night was slow as f<ck, sleep no gree come, I just lay down dey think, to get an hour sleep was a struggle tbvh.

Woke up around 4:50, my alarm was for 5:00, the interview was for 7:00

After getting ready, my mum first showered some anointing on me and told me to go get my visa.

Got to the embassy at 6:50, they were still attending to those for 6:00 so I joined the line for those for 7:00, fast forward to my interview. They were 3 VO present that morning, one was very friendly and doesn't waste time with people and have been dishing approvals ear and there

VO: What Course
ME: EMDD

VO: Why this course
ME: I work with xyz and this degree will give me immense knowledge. He cuts me

VO: Where do you work again
ME: I repeated

VO: who is paying for this? Looking at my i20
ME: I have a GAShip that covers my entire tuition fee and a monthly stipend to offset my student fees and the deficit will be paid by my uncle.

A Nigerian that wants to do a whole one-year English pathway program doesn't really sound well. Better to find a school that doesn't come with such condition or write TOEFL.

Hello Guys,
I’m planning on paying for another MRV fee so I can apply for an emergency appointment.
The first emergency appointment I applied for was denied and I’m guessing it was because I attached an old admission letter, But I would be attaching the right one when applying for this emergency appointment. My school’s start date was also not within the 60days period, So I’m hoping with the changes I’m making this one would be approved..So I would like to know if they are currently issuing an emergency visa interview to people?

PS: No travel history, No exams just GRACE.

little advice:

Dress smart, these guys are looking for people that will travel and do well for themselves academically, dress like a student. I noticed a guy wearing a native and leather slips was denied even with his travel history.

Dress how you want to be addressed!

Above all, it can only be GOD!

Go with grace!

Congrats bro.
Well I actually wear a native and a leather sandals but my visa was approved.
I ain't saying you should dress anyhow but native doesn't stop you from getting your visa approved.

A Nigerian that wants to do a whole one-year English pathway program doesn't really sound well. Better to find a school that doesn't come with such condition or write TOEFL.

I couldn’t take Toefl due to the pandemic that’s why the school suggested that

Where do I even start?

They were 3 VO present that morning, one was very friendly and doesn't waste time with people and have been dishing approvals ear and there
In my mind, I was praying to be interviewed by him. lucky for me, I got him.

ME: Good morning
VO: Morning

VO: What a long morning it has been.
ME: Yes it has been (smiles)

VO: Pass me your documents.
ME: there you go.

VO: Place your 4 left fingers on the scanner.
ME: I obliged

You've been admitted right?
What if you see another school that doesn't require any proficiency test?

Yes I have been admitted.
I will try it out too but I am applying for my interview already... Also I didn’t take Toefl due to the pandemic so the school suggested that

Greetings dear gurus in the house!

I have a few questions about visiting the USA.

I have a friend in the US(married and a Nurse) who wish to invite me and my wife over (we have no kids yet). He wants us to come live & work in the US through INVITATION.

We've never met in person but got to know him through a friend I know from Childhood who now live in South Africa.

My questions:

In view of our circumstance, is it possible for both of us to be INVITED

What category of Visa will work for us?

Can we stay back in the US and apply for Study in the post grad program? Is there any legal option for staying back in the US?

Note: the goal is to get PR

Please help me explore all options available.

Is this one year free or paid ....if paid plus accommodation then makes no sense

How much is Toefl compared to the cost of a whopping one year just because of english..best to take Toefl or apply to other schools

Also it very tricky for Vo to give you visa for English when Nigeria is an English speaking country

Over 3000 schools in U.S bro. I'm of the opinion that we should be thinking about Visa already while we are applying to schools. Admission is relatively easy to get, you will always find a school, especially if scholarship isn't a factor. The problem is the Visa. You should have done more to convince them, including providing a proof that you were taught in English. Also, people used duolingo test which was taken online from the comfort of their homes. Many options, including applying to schools that waive English for Nigerians. Anyway, since you already have the admission and plan to apply for Visa with it, prepare well. I pray you find favour
