Hello. Please where can I find cheap flights or what airline do you think is highly recommended?
Based on the popular opinion on this thread, i think many people are tilting towards Ethiopian airlines. However, I stand to be corrected

Thanks to everyone who assisted in providing solution for my request.

The last 1 week has been so busy, i have not had more than 6hours sleep in 72hrs. I lucky got an appointment on the 12th of Nov on the embassy's website (Atlanta) myself on the 10th of Nov, after the contact i got said there was no date
So i had to rush to Atlanta by 11th, got to the embassy another stress... people were so many, some didnt even have appointment they just came trying to struggle in but the man in charge didnt let in anyone without appointments.

I have done my biometrics so i pray it comes out this week. One may not need to have inside contact as long as you do book your appointment online and i advise you do it now because dates opened are in Jan 2021.

Thanks i really appreciate all your help- @toboy

Answering because I had a similar experience.
If your passport is expiring soon then you may need to renew your passport so that you have enough valid timeframe that can contain the work permit (usually 3 years depending on your program).
If your passport expiry pre-dates the work permit, the government will only issue you a permit that is the same expiry date of your passport. You can still get the remainder of the work permit when you get a new passport, however you need to re-apply for it and pay an additional application fee.
During my own time, I just renewed my passport which had roughly one year expiry date at that time. Then I applied for work permit with my new passport and got a 3 years work permit.
I do not not have information about passport renewal in the US. I did my passport renewal at Ottawa.

Guess what people!!!

i received my new Nigerian passport from ATLANTA yesterday.
-biometrics done on the 12th Nov
- new pp received via Express courier on 18th Nov

the secret? God, booking appointment on their website ahead of your visit the embassy, getting all necessary documents and Express courier envelope ready.

Just to share.

Like I said, it depends on the road conditions. Even when i drive the one with winter tyres which i rarely do, the road condition decides.

Unless we have those crazy storms i usually do 45-55km/hr city and abt 10-15 more on the highway with my all seasons.

einsteino:

That's interesting. How slow did you have to drive on all seasons? also was it in city driving or highway?

Hello kind people. I just received my ppr and hopefully my copr comes shortly. I, like many others, intend to travel in-spite of the travel ban in place. I would really appreciate if anyone with a similar situation (who got their copr post march 18th and who isn’t an immediate family member of a Canadian permanent resident) has traveled successfully without issue at the borders. Any experience and/or advice about the questions asked regarding quarantine plans, POF, and other statutory questions will be greatly appreciated.
Kind regards.
P.S. I’m very new to this platform, but please how do you people travel with your money from nigeria to canada? Do you do a transfer? If so, how? Too many questions, i guess i’ll stop here

People are traveling o. Someone I know landed last week

I got at 465. Chested my loss and got at 465. I don't even know what to advise as the Naira is getting shittier. If you have money, convert to dollars. It will also save you the headache of looking for CAD which is also high at above 340. All the best.

Just wanted to point out something.

If you look at the back of your iPhone (if you own one), you'd see Designed in California and Assembled in China.

Apple is responsible for the design of their devices. In recent times; Apple has also started designing the chips in their devices (the lastest MacBooks that launched last week/two weeks ago launched with the M1 chip which was designed by Apple.

Long story short; after designing, specs are sent to their Chinese manufacturer partners (Foxcon and co) who then manufacture and assemble the devices.

Don't get it twisted...
yh you're right

Hello All,

I am 39years and just received my student visa to study at Royal Roads University BC.

I would really appreciate any feedback on getting Province Nomination in BC. Due to my age I know that getting a high score for the express entry may be challenging.

I am even considering changing school to any of the Atlantic Provinces.

I really would appreciate any feedback on the PR Pathways in British Columbia considering my age.

You are better off going to an Atlantic province like New foundland if getting PR is your priority. Memorial University has the cheapest international tuition fees in Canada. it is located there. Secondly, the cost of living in New foundland is less expensive compare to other provinces in Canada and it is one is the easiest province to get PR.

The Canadian government offers an immigration program for the Atlantic province to make it easy for immigrants to get PR. here is the link---->https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/atlantic-immigration-pilot/how-to-immigrate/eligibility.html

The only drawback is that there is no life there. lol. once you get your PR from New foundland, you can move to another province.

As for British Columbia(BC), if you are rich and posh, then go to any university of your choice in BC. If you are not, I will not recommend you to move there. it is very expensive to live in BC, hard to find a job as a black person ( especially in the Vancouver area), universities there are extremely expensive. lastly, there is a limited number of black people living in BC due to some of the reasons I mention.

I am a graduate of a university in BC. My school fees are about 30, 000 CAD per year( that excludes living expenses cost like accommodation, transport etc).I will say you will need to budget close to at least 40, 000 CAD/year if you wish to school there. My parents help me fund all of my expenses when I was in uni.. That is why I said if you are from a rich family and got the money, move there.

I graduated last year(June 2019) from uni with a 3.52 GPA. My hard work pays. Ever since I graduated, I have been working as a software engineer till now. So, I have been blessed to save and accumulate as much money as I can from my job. Software engineering is one of the HIGHEST paid jobs in Canada. If in doubt, do your research. I do NOT work a low ass minimum wage job as most people do in this country.

The bolded, was that really necessary?

Majority of your customers are international students right? Do you know that majority of these international students in Canada and USA do survival jobs, which are minimum wage jobs?

So let’s be clear, you are cool talking down on people who do “low ass minimum wage jobs” but you don’t mind collecting their money right? You don’t mind them being your customers grin

I am also very sure, you did those jobs when you were a student.

May God give you the wisdom and humility as you continue in your business and navigate through life.
