Buhari Commissions Waltersmith Modular Refinery In Ibigwe, Imo State by lalasticlala(mod): 4:54pm On Nov 24, 2020
This afternoon I virtually commissioned the 5,000 barrels per day Waltersmith Modular Refinery in Ibigwe, Imo State, in fulfillment of our Refinery Roadmap. I am pleased to note that work is now commencing on expansion of the capacity of the refinery to 50,000 barrels per day.

We rolled out our administration’s Refinery Roadmap in 2018, with the ultimate goal of making Nigeria a net exporter of petroleum products. The Roadmap has four key elements, namely, Rehabiliation of existing refineries, Greenfield Refineries, Co-location & Modular Refining.

I am delighted that the Waltersmith Refinery is coming on-stream within two years of the commencement of the Roadmap, and after many years of granting licenses for the establishment of modular refineries with nothing to show for it.

Good, that is the way to go, create an enabling environment for the private sector to drive the economy. The nonsense happening in NNPC should stop, handover the refineries to investors and hands off.

The worst president and minister for petroleum we've had
Re: Buhari Commissions Waltersmith Modular Refinery In Ibigwe, Imo State by QuotaSystem:
An excellent one by the investors & President Buhari as he continues to provide an attractive climate for investments.

This is a critical right step towards ending the daily dollar bleed due to the avoidable, totally illogical importation of petroleum products, despite being an oil producing nation.

Kudos to Abdulrazak Isa, the Chairman of Waltersmith Refinery for creating jobs for hundreds of Imo Youths and boosting the IGR of Imo State and the SE.

It is these kinds of gestures across board that continue to unite us beyond the divisive antics of our deceitful politicians.

I was at Ohaji Egbema few months ago, honestly, that Fulani guy is investing massively in the LGA. He is also venturing into gas exploration in the interior of Njaba, as I was told. My question is, where our brothers them dey?

Re: Buhari Commissions Waltersmith Modular Refinery In Ibigwe, Imo State by Flytime:
I pity this country's economy

After years of oil we couldn't develop the country unlike Saudi Arabia
Even Saudi Arabia is preparing for post oil economy because the world is moving to cleaner renewable energy and electricity would soon be used to power on things oil used to

Saudi Arabia development should be a role model to Nigeria because we both share the same main resource

Even though the Saudi royals lavish money the country still remains developed and they have free health care but in Nigeria it's the opposite.. They lavish and don't even look forward to the day Nigeria would be developed

It would be painful if smaller countries in Africa becomes developed while Nigeria remains in the developing stage

I believe they should enforce a rule to reduce the population to having kids according to your financial capabilities or you would be fined.. Something similar to what they did in China years ago because they always blame population for Nigerias problem
