Lol. Even the Buhari that defeated Jonathan got over 35% of the votes in the SS in 2019.

Moreso, SW voted Jonathan with majority of the votes in 2011 even with us being in ACN then. What did he paid us with? Marginalization and we responded in kind in 2015 by voting Buhari and even at that Jonathan got over 45% of the votes in the SW in 2015.

If the SS need to reciprocate what the Yorubas did in 2015 in 2023, then they should also give Osinbajo 45% of their votes in 2023.

That’s all what we need and Q.E.D.

Do you oppose the bolded?

It is this feeling of entitlement that annoys people! What makes you think you deserved anything apart from good governance from Jonathan? Why is Buhari not being judged by the same standards?

Osibanjo is part of all the mess Buhari has created. If he resigned since 2017 maybe we would have seen him differently.

Our votes will swing to where our interests is best served or we may decide to boycott the elections entirely.

The antecedents of all the frontrunners from the South West doesn't give us reason to believe them.

If Jonathan didn't deserve to be president in 2015 I wonder why those who feel that way think we owe them any votes.

When the South West reads the hand writing on the wall they will be weaned of tribalism. They behave as if they own Nigeria, we all own Nigeria!

You can't blackmail and intimidate a section of the country and expect them to applaud you when it is your time of need.

What I detest is hypocrisy and a lot of Nigerian tribes are guilty of this including those from the SS.

You spoke of interest in your comment and said the SS would vote for a candidate where they think their interest is protected. That is very fine in a democracy BUT why don’t you also understand that the Yorubas voted their interest in 2015 instead of the usual blackmail you guys indulge in by saying the SW betray the south?

We don’t have entitlement complex, that is not the Yorubas. Even when you SS’ners voted against Falae our candidate in 1999, do you see us blackmailing you people that you betrayed us?

Nope, we never did. We keep our cool, accepted our fate and moved on. Even when Jonathan somehow failed to protect the SW interest after voting him in 2011, we maintained our cool and raised our voice in the 2015 election devoid of emotional blackmail.

Is it southern unity betrayal only when it is against the SE/SS? What about those period that it has always been against the SW, what should that be called?

I repeat my assertions that if Osinbajo is on the ballot in 2023 against a Northerner, he will get nothing less than 35% of the votes in the SS.

You might say I’m drunk by the above, but let’s wait till it’s time for for the game and see how the media will be used for the cause when it’s time. Are we not the one that repackaged a Buhari that have lost consistently multiple time because of the Islamic propagandist tag against him? Just wait and see how it goes in 2023.

You can see I never mentioned Tinubu in all this. That’s because I know that Osinbajo will sell better in the SS than Tinubu candidacy.

In 2015 the South West was too greedy to recognise that the national interest was too interwoven to be forcefully separated the way they[ South West] did.
2015 was about Nigeria, not ethnic nations, tribes, individuals, political or financial interests.

It was a contest between having a national consensus or having a cabal . The South West campaigned and acted against the country, preferring rather to establish the cabal.

The South West removed a government that gave Nigerians freedom and repackaged a known despot for 2 tenures. The few people that were killed at Lekki have you people react and you think the victims of your jihadist government will reward those that rebranded and rewarded the jihadist with highest office in the country to give you their votes!

Now you want to accuse people of not supporting a Yoruba candidate in 1999 election. Please tell me if Olusegun Obasanjo is Kanuri. Since you Yoruba didn't like Obasanjo in 1999 why didn't you vote Buhari in 2003?

Very good, let APC zone it to IGBO and see how it will lose to PDP. Nobody can force northeners to vote for an Igbo man, you have to come out and work hard and earn the trust of Nigerians. Not by threatening that this is the turn of Igbo ,this and that.

Ibos should contest under APGA,It will be interesting to see Presidential candidates as follows ;Yoruba(APC),Ibo(APGA) and Hausa/Fulani (PDP) and other tribes can select their tribes on other political platforms.

We could have a coalition govt where two parties form a block to make majority in the Senate.

All what you’re saying is still stories and Jonathan was clueless in 2015 so every sane thinking Nigerians should have voted him out.

His comrades were looting recklessly while Biko Haram keep killing people enmasse in the NE and Jonathan continue to drink his burukutu and squandered all the proceeds from oil wealth during the rainy days.

Buhari was known as an anti-corruption figure and even the international community supported his candidature then because they all thought Buhari is the solution to Nigeria problem which is then Security and Corruption.

The SW voters are the most advanced voters in Nigeria who have shown most times to vote based on manifesto and common sense. We see in Buhari a solution to the problem of insecurity because he was a former general who solved the Maitatsine terrorism during those days and we saw his as an anti corruption crusader too so Votubg Jonathan our was justified.

However, like every politicians with their promise and fail, Buhari turned out to be a bad market who failed us because he was not able to solve both things we voted him for. What then is our problem when we only exercise our right to vote in a democracy?

Let me tell you something, the Yorubas don’t care what anyone of you feel about our decision and if you are to present us the 2015 situation again, we will vote for Buhari.

We have stood alone in the South and hold the forte against the SE+SS alliance all through these years. Even in opposition, we have influence and always hold our head high without resorting to emotional blackmail everytime.

If you don’t know OBJ in 1999 was not a SW preferred candidate, then I won’t waste my time on that subject. It’s just like Obi and Igbokwe on the ballot, and the Yorubas went ahead to vote for Igbowke who normally wouldn’t be the preferred Ibo candidate.

It could go either way but let's wait for 2023 first

Where did you read that Igbo hate anything north?

That few miscreants are disgracing themselves online doesn't transcend to vast majority hating north.

For once I never liked pdp anyway, right from time and more reason I am not bothered because my state is not controlled by pdp but saying people hate north is a propganda by nairaland miscreants.

The bulk volume of trade between East and north remains the highest and only fools will come and be shouting south air saying nonsense.

Your statement represent all faults associated with sound submission.

PDP will loose 2023, APC will present Osinbajo, PDP will bring Atiku.
Then SE will feel reluctant voting for PDP again, SS is already getting divided, SW will vote APC and APC will win North irrespective of who PDP brings from the north, except PMB cross carpet and contest the third time. grin

I didn't see Osinbajo coming, infact Nobody sees that. Buhari body language is totally indifferent and no Nigeria president has ever handed over to the deputy except that man of circumstance called Jonathan that turned out to be huge failure.

How your boss relates with you shows your chances of taking over but nothing like that. Infact he blocks your influence at any time possible.

PMB doesn't look like he will endorse anyone, but his body language shows he wants youths. he has signed too young to rule bill and before 2019 election, he made a statement that the youths should try to wrestle power from his generation. He fully support the youths, even his program is aimed at youths.
But personally, I wish Umahi could become our next president and if he contest, I'll vote him over and over without blinking

I judge base on the few I see on NL, I can't move house to house to know how many people hate north. Its simple statistics, I take sample and judge the majority with that sample

Youths targeted should be from 45 years down. Anything above that still remains the same old hags looting the whole nation.

Well till each conducts their congress then we can know where they are heading to.

Your sample is too weak and moreover we know which states in east are majority here on nairaland and their loud mouths.

The hating promoting is only on nairaland and that where it ends.

I have asked those miscreants to state clearly trade interaction between South East and south west but they can't but keep shouting South.

But from Monday to Sunday bulk of trading takes place between East and north even to far borno state.

only myopic individuals and Igbos can be talking such nonsense because they lack proper reasoning

I have seen youths who held some leadership position and did nothing. Even sug and faculty president are office of thieves, ordinary course rep back then in my school was so corrupt, we had to impeach him, not only did he conspire with lecturer to hike handout price, he also had to put his own price after the hike
Ordinary protest, we begin loot shop.
Even if its 12yrs, I won't vote a yoot

From your statement it is obvious you South westerners know next to nothing about Nigeria.

1. A Jonathan won't drink burukutu
2. Jonathan was opposed for trying to remove subsidy because he identified it as a major conduit for corruption
3. Who were the beneficiaries of the subsidy scam if not South westerners and north westerners?
4. The same people that sued Jonathan because he started saving for Nigeria are the same people that bankrolled the APC and hold important offices in Buhari's government.
5. The international community did support Buhari, the primary support Buhari got was from Barack Hussein Obama.
6. You have forgotten I raised the Falae/ Obasanjo case. If the Yoruba saw Obasanjo to be very bad and Buhari to be very good why did they[Yoruba] wait till Jonathan's turn to bring Buhari in?
7. If the killings in the North east ( that started under Obasanjo/Yar'Adua) was the reason Yoruba rejected Jonathan, why did you Yoruba give Obasanjo a 2nd tenure despite the killings in Odi, Taribo, Port Harcourt, Warri, Ogbakiri, Zaki ibiam etc?
8. Buhari killed people in Abia and Delta state and was rewarded with a 2nd tenure by the Yoruba. Since when did you start valuing human lives to the point vote for a change in government because people are killed. Under Buhari Fulani herders have prominent Yorubas, kidnapped your preferred candidate in the 1999 presidential election yet none saw the need to change the government in 2019.
9. On the contrary it foolish Nigerians or bigots who fell for Buhari's antics in 2015. To justify Buhari in 2019 just shows you are a south western bigot. The data supported sound economic performance under Jonathan. The country amongst the 10 fastest growing economies in the world. Ranked as Africa's foremost investment destination. Today they are the suicide and poverty capital of the world and you want to convince me bringing Buhari was the best decision for Nigeria!
