The family in question should be ashamed of themselves why because they are desperate to money out of this unfortunate event that befel their son. nawa o. this shows that they lack geniune sympathy for the bereaved woman and her kids. a times people should try and value their dignity and reputation more than money becos money is not everything.

How sure are you that Femi will honour his words which is not documented anywhere. If he loses power or anyother thing happens to him what becomes of the woman and her kids. Things like this are better settled in court he is a politian and cannot be trusted. Politians dont keep their promise.

Gbajabiamila is not stupid. The only people that deserve compensation is the widow and her kids. And that's what he will do.

Relatives of the man have no business in filing any suit. If the wife/children are not part of the law suit,it's an exercise in futility.

They lack locus standi

The speaker after visiting and promising to care for the wife and child- things he had no obligation to do,things non of their leaders have done. Yet they still reasoned,"let's amass great wealth from this Yoruba man"
Bro, look at your profile pic. grin
The OSU's seem to be doing better than you. Possibly you are the house boy to the proper Yoruba man and eating crumbles from the floor, certainly not the dining table. Lol

Lawyers in the house should advise.
Should Gbajabiamila also not be answering questions? As this officer was attached to his convoy..
Something like 3rd degree murder.. Lawyers advise pls.
Nothing like that bro.
The man is not liable in anyway.
His security details are professionals detail to secure is life base on his personality, they are knowledgeable than him securitywise, they don't take orders from him when to shoot and when not to. Above all, there is no vicarious liability in criminal offenses. Becos they were attached to him is not an offence.

Greedy people, what do they want Gbajabiamila to do, he showed remorse, also visited the deceased family and promise to take care of them, was he the one that shot the vendor? culprit is already arrested, what more do they they want.

What do you mean by greedy people. Their son was murdered. Are you the one that is going to take care of his wife and children. The family did what any reasonable family would have done.

You will sell your daughters in marriage, even the remains of your sons is still for sale. Abeg, greed dey pass greed... Some are just way too extreme.

Greed is when some miscreants murdered policemen in Ibadan, burnt them and ate their body with pap with the belief it will make them rich. People are been killed in the west daily with body part cut and sold all because of greed. That is sickness and greed at its peak. Untill you accept that ritualism is endemic in your region only then you can talk about other people. Who knows what you as a person have done or is planning to do. Tueh

It f..k up bro he needs to do more, I will charge him more dan dat if it were to be me, d man was killed under his watchful eyes. He need to be held responsible

Under what law is Gbaja liable?

The court must establish that he actually ordered the shooting, which I doubt very much.

This can never be a case of joint liability.

They should sue the actual culprit and his employer, the DSS/Police,not the speaker.

Ozekhome must have approached the family on a commission agreement. That guy is always looking out to cash in on politicians.

But he cannot succeed this time.

The family that could not set up a vendor into a good business, can not afford Ozekhome's fees.

[/quote ]Good talk my brother. By sueing Gbaja, the case is loss as he was not the one that killed the guy. And even if they sue DSS & won, will they pay the fine? Recall Fela's & other Nigerians similar experience in the hand of Law enforcement Agencies.

Can't work. Anything Gbaja would do would be routed through the deseased's wife (as his next of kin I presume).

So, the family of the deceased are rather at the woman's mercy to get anything out of his death.
I am not sure Ozekhome would have taken their case if he thinks they stood zero chance. From experience, it is very likely that the man's parent are his next of kin.

N500m from the police or gbajabiamila.

But what does Gbajamila means by she'll take of her. That's so vague. Is she suppose to be coming to her every month to settle her bills? For how long will that continue before it stops?

Even though the family of the man maybe be greedy, but the woman sure needs some legal advice & guardian.

They probably have deceived the woman that they will take good care of her and her children at the end of the day it will all be another apc audio promise as usual the poor widow should think properly before taking any hurried decisions that she will be regretting later.

Am talking about giving the young man a befitting burial it doesn't matter who is the next of kin all that will definitely be settled by any responsible family later after gbajamila must have done the right thing.

very smart point bro. i believed mr gbajabiamila (despite being a politician) have sofar provd a good man by coming personaly to comiserate with the late mans family, most prominent politicians wont do that. he has made some personal promises to the woman(next of kin to the deceased) whch she is okay with, such goodwill from mr speaker deserve they give him the benefit of doubt to fufil those promises .
