The All Progressives Congress (APC) has said former president, Goodluck Jonathan, is working for the current government.

The ruling party’s Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Yekini Nabena, stated this while answering questions on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Friday.

Nabena also slammed the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for not being a worthy opposition.

According to him, Jonathan has been working for the President Muhammadu Buhari administration, because he is a ‘progressive’ statesman.

The visit by some APC chieftains to Jonathan last Friday, who contested in the 2011 and 2015 presidential elections on the platform of the PDP, raised the stakes in permutations for the 2023 general elections.

But Nabena said, “We are not desperate. Goodluck Jonathan has been working for this government, he has been going to all African countries.

“If he is not a progressive person, he won’t have been working for this government.”

Whether he's working for the current, past or future government, trying to put an end to APC/PDP dominance at both state and federal level might help this country a lot. They already have their 'unproductive' pattern of governance they force into any newly elected person. Same ideology, different people.

GEJ's only crime is his humility and selfless service to his country.

People need to understand that it wasn't luck that got GEJ to Aso rock from the streets of Otuoke.

It was simply humility.

God always resist the proud but elevates the meek (humble)

However I don't know why APC is using this to score cheap political point.
GEJ isn't working for APC government. He is working for the Nigerian government.

A true elder statesman does not allow his party affiliation cripple his good will towards the greater good of his country men.

So suddenly, a man who the APC zoombies christened ineffectual buffon and Clueless is now a genius brain and a pivot in solving national issues.

How foolish and senseless can this people be, instead of fighting on how to make things right for the masses and you all are there fighting for party supremacy.

On one of the threads here, I read how a Supreme Court Governor enjoined people to join his party or continue fasting and praying, how stupid can that sound.

A party that has caused untold hardship for the masses since they got into power. Is it all about the party or the quality of individuals on the seat of power?
