Go and read your Bible very well there must be someone to interpret or the siprit would interpret....and what do you mean by tongues of men?
Tongues of men are different languages we speak in the world like English, French, Latin, Hindu, Greek polish etc

Tongues of angels are heavenly tongues spoken by angels and heavenly beings.

You have a big problem.

1 Corinthians 13:1
[1]If I could speak all the languages of earth and of angels, but didn’t love others, I would only be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.

How does this teach about speaking in tongues?
Apostle Paul said that if we speak in tongues and we don't love our neighbour as ourselves, we are just nothing but noise makers because we dont practice what we preach. What is so hard to understand here?

If you know how far I have gone in terms of prayers and praying in tongues, you won't open your mouth to laugh at me, just so you know I am a prophetess of God.

Oga go and sit down a prophtess that is twisting a verse of the Bible to justify her claim...learn to hear from God not from your flesh go and read and understand the Bible before you teach people false things...... prophetess indeed.

You are too carnal minded, spiritual things are foolishness to the unspiritual man because he doesn't understand them. 1 Corinthians 2:14.

May the good Lord open your eyes cause you are spiritually blind and deaf.

You don't read at all if not you won't quote one verse thinking you understand the whole chapter.

Dont always expect tongues translation cos sometimes we speak tongues of angels. Do you know that there are tongues of angels/angelic tongues 1Corinthians 13:1, who will translate that one? Its not everytime we speak tongues of men.

Why do we like misinterpreting the bible like dis?

Read 1corithians 13:1 again, meditate on it and understand what it says.. Then come back and edit ur comment

Omg!

Please quote the Apostle Paul!

He said "If I speak in Tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I'm becoming sounding brass, or a clanging symbols. In short noise maker.

Do you not understand what he was teaching here. He is saying even if he can speak all the languages of humans on earth and can even speak that of angels and he does not love, that everything is useless.

1 Corinthians 14:5
[5]I wish you could all speak in tongues, but even more I wish you could all prophesy. For prophecy is greater than speaking in tongues, unless someone interprets what you are saying so that the whole church will be strengthened.

1 Corinthians 14:6
[6]Dear brothers and sisters, if I should come to you speaking in an unknown language, how would that help you? But if I bring you a revelation or some special knowledge or prophecy or teaching, that will be helpful.

I really just wish some of you would really just read and understand what is written in plain.

They will still continue to justify their wrong..

ooh I see your confusion:
U have baptism of the holy Spirit expressed in two forms but the former is general ( anyone genuinely baptized in the Holy ghost have it )
1. As a prayer Language: Jude 1 vs 20 (Jude:1.20
But you, dear friends, build yourselves up in your most holy faith and pray in the Holy Spirit.) I think that English is clear enough. Acts 19: 1 - 6( read it too). That is for the believer's personal growth and edification. You see this one, no one understands except God, but God can make you or others understand what you say by the gift of interpretation of tongues. That's why Paul says when someone speaks in an unknown tongues ( d one type you call rubbish because it's unknown to your senses) in a congregation, it doesn't edify anyone except it is interpreted.

2. As a Gift: This is d part that played out in Acts 2 you made reference of, God uses it to speak to people directly through your vocal cord in their known language which even d speaker doesn't understand. Sometimes it pops up when there is a language barrier. Have you asked yourself how Phillip is able to speak with d Eunuch of Ethiopia in which their language is different. God had to create an awareness of what was going on on that day of Pentecost in Acts 2. Mind u both dimensions played out also because while some understood the Apostles message, some said they were drunk.

There are many scriptures that talk about these two aspects beyond d scope of this explanation of u really wanna learn, u make your research without having to mock or abuse people coz u don't understand them.

Thank you sir. I like your sincerity

Speaking in tongues recorded in the Bible wasn't skrrrrr babaaaaa and kabash. It was speaking the language of different tribes which people whose tribe's languages were being spoken understood clearly. Just like a Nigerian that hasn't left the shores of this country speaking Hindu and the Hindus understanding him. Now tell whose language is the kabash our people now speak?

hopefulLandlord:
After independence, in order to build a great nation, each country went to work. But in Nigeria, after independence, our people went to pray and fast. So, while we were praying, Malaysia came here and took our palm seedlings and built a great factory of it. While we were praying, Singapore went into investment in technology. While we were praying, India went into ICT. While we were praying, China went to massive industrialization. While we were shouting Allah Alakuba! UAE went into massive infrastructural development. While we were binding and casting Lucifer, Japan went into technological development. While we were speaking in tongues, Denmark went into education of her citizens. While we were mounting big speakers in our places of worship, USA was mounting man on the moon.

After our prayers, God, being a wise God decided to reward us according to our labour. Since those that went into industrialization, technology, infrastructural development, ICT, education etc have been rewarded accordingly. It's only wise God rewards us with our efforts in prayers. That's why today, Nigerian pastors are competing in building the biggest churches.

That's why there are more prayer houses and worship places than hospitals and schools. That's why people rush to prayer houses for medical and business solutions instead of hospitals. That's why we don't do business proposals before jumping into business since we are going to back it up with prayers. And when it collapse, we blame devil. That's why it's a sin to say anything negative about pastors and imams. That's why our pastors don't consider the opinion of engineers while building and blame devil when building collapse. That's why faith in God replaces building pillars and when it collapse we blame it on Lucifer. That's why our pastors are making sure they plant church branches instead of schools in every streets in Nigeria. That's why we always wait for gods to do that which ability to accomplish we already have in us. That's why we want our teachers to labour on earth and go to heaven for their rewards. Nigeria is a prayer loving, god fearing nation. Religion has taken the place of technology, infrastructure, education and all. When we are traveling, we ignore all the necessary road requirements, servicing of our vehicles and pray. And, once we pray, we can put a half fit vehicle on the road and blame our step mother or mother in law if anything goes wrong. That's why there are more people dying on our roads. Because, we pray and fast and leave everything to God when we have all we need to survive and build a nation....... I hope it made sense to you
I like intelligence but not when we think we knows it all.
Always know that there's something have limited knowledge about. Either you research more into it or you keep mum.
That's wisdom
The write up is about praying in the Spirit.
It has nothing to do with Nigeria and its pastors and their many churches.
It's an awesome experience but you know nothing about it
You are missing a lot

It's a thing to quote, its another to understand.

Do you understand what Paul was saying there? Do you know those he was talking to and what brought about the statement?

Tell them.

Apostle Paul said if someone has the gift of speaking in tongues, then someone must be there to translate. Who has ever translated that gibberish they speak?

Read Bible in context. Don't pick verses out of context.

Interpretation is necessary only when the unlearned is/are present.

Praying in tongues is beneficial to you. However, you may need to interpreted it to bless another person.

1 Corinthians 14:4-5,18-19
[4]He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.
[5]I would that ye all spake with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying...
[18]I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all:
[19]Yet in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that by my voice I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue.

Read to understand. This was an expression. The expression is pellucid enough. I'll help you.

Here is what is written:

"I speak with tongues more than you all. Yet, in the church, I pray more in understanding so that I can edify others."

He is clearly saying that it is key to pray in tongues. He does it more than a tone else. However, be is more committed to edifying others in the church by speaking to them in understanding.

In his prayers, he prayed in tongues. In the church, he spoke to the people to edify and instruct!

Hope you get...

Only Hindus and shamans speak the "tongues" that deluded Charismatics speak, never followers of the Lord Jesus Christ

Or do you know anywhere in your Bible where it was recorded any group of Christians worshipped God and no one understood what the worshippers were saying?

Today's "tongues" are from Satan and everyone teaching it serves the Devil

Take it or leave it

https://www.thetruechristianfaith.com/2016/09/10/hinduism-as-christianity/

As a black American, the tongues of today were introduced into charismatic churches in the US by blacks who had synergized aspects of Vodun retained by their enslaved ancestors and their newly adopted Christianity.

In most cases, Christianity spread by being syncretized into local beliefs.

Christianity was syncretized into the old Roman religion.
Syncretized into indeginious faiths of Central and South America.

And similarly in the black diaspora.

Look at Brazil with Candomble and Ubanda.
Cuba with Santeria.
Haiti with Vodou.

Black Americans don't like to think that we practice aspects of Vodun but we didn't escape it because the elements are all there.

Many of the practices in the black church, especially in the denominations that have “praise breaks” and “dancing” and “tongues” where people essentially go into trances are but remnants of things that our enslaved African ancestors brought over.

The idea of using music to “open” oneself up to court a “spirit”. The spirit then coming to “possess” you (filled with the Holy Ghost). The evidence being “dancing” (praise dancing), chanting (tongues), and any other trance like state. It’s all the same.

White people, doing what they do, coopted these practices, sent missionaries to Africa, and now here we are.

All things old are made new. grin
