Boko Haram: We’ll not help Nigeria again, Buhari rubbished us after Jonathan left – Mercenaries

Days after North-East Governors urged President Muhammadu Buhari to use mercenaries to fight Boko Haram, the foreign military contractors earlier engaged by Nigeria have vowed never to return.

The fighters took the battle to terrorists in Sambisa forest and other enclaves during the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan.

Then, Nigeria covertly brought in ‘military-technical advisers’ regarded as mercenaries from South Africa and the former Soviet Union.

Ahead of the 2015 general election, the hitmen day and night dealt Boko Haram severe blows.

Regional security, defence and diplomatic sources were aware of the development.

There was also a tacit confirmation by Jonathan that two companies were providing “trainers and technicians” to help Nigerian forces.

Now, calls for the warriors to return after the upsurge in attacks by Boko Haram and ISWAP are being made.

Last Saturday, more than 40 farmers were slaughtered at Koshebe village. The gruesome murder sparked global outrage.

Speaking to PRNigeria, one of the facilitators of “soldiers of fortune” decried the persecution and prosecution of foreigners and Nigerian counterparts who participated in the war after President Muhammadu Buhari assumed office.

He said: “In fact, some of our covert operations and activities of operatives in Nigeria including incurred casualties were exposed as working for mercenaries. Imagine that even highly classified and coded transactions for operational purposes were exposed as corruption.”

The source disclosed that some payments for operations executed are still outstanding.

“It’s easier to confirm what we did because we were able to recover dozens of towns from Boko Haram from at least three states in the North-East at the time. This is an open secret.”

He expressed disappointment that some Nigerian military and intelligence officers who participated in the 2014/2015 operation were retired, prosecuted and convicted.

The senior contractor stated that the mercenaries find it difficult to work in a country where their operations, strategy and thinking are exposed to the media and judicial processes.

The secret agent hinted that top government officials at federal and state levels are reaching out to them, but reiterated their resolve not to come back.

DAILY POST reported that the founder of Specialized Tasks, Training, Equipment and Protection,(STTEP), Eeben Barlow, revealed that Buhari stopped their raids against insurgents.

Barlow said their proposal was antagonised and politicised by Buhari and his team “even before they assumed office.”

“The initial 3-phase campaign strategy (known as ‘Operational Anvil’) to degrade and destroy BH in Borno State, was rejected by his advisors,” Barlow added.

Barlow recalled that the company was willing to stay back in the Northeast but the President “made it known that the company’s presence would not be tolerated under his administration.”

It was madness that made Buhari to dismantle a working system. He claimed that "corruption" was responsible for Boko haram and all he needs to do is fight corruption to end Boko haram. He was also overconfident of his ability as a so-called "general". Even the US and Russia uses mercenaries aka private contractors when fighting terrorists in tough situations. An average mercenary has more combat experience and tactical knowledge than a regular soldier.

Let's not forget that there are Boko Haram terrorists in the govt and in the army.

If the mercenaries come back, they’d be sabotaged and killed the way the southern soldiers trying to fight for d country are being killed.

Just like they did our first female helicopter pilot, Tolulope Arotile...and swept d matter under d carpet.

See Buhari, see formation of Multinationals Task Force.

What does Buhari know sef?

I remember the moral of our soldiers then, shouting as the walk on the streets of recovered territories "Never Again will BokoHaram capture any territory in Nigeria" - that was February -
March, 2015

"Never Again "- Latest Slogan In The Camp Of Nigerian Army

I was moved to tears when I saw the joy and happiness on the faces of our gallant soldiers when President Goodluck Jonathan paid them a visit. He told them that "NEVER AGAIN" will any part of the country fall into the hands of the insurgents.

The excited and motivated soldiers started chanting "NEVER AGAIN...NEVER AGAIN" I was equally impressed the way and manner the soldiers were shaking and hailing the Chief of Army Staff- General Minimah. The president also announced immediate promotion for all the soldiers that are taking part in the battle and a post humous promotion to the fallen soldiers.

It is quite obvious that our military is battle ready and equal to the task.
God bless Nigeria!

Now you know who is the chief BH terrorist. It is crystal clear.BH terrorists and their supporters in the APC government simply frustrate their effort because they were behind it in the first place.Remember "a fight against BH is a fight against the north"? Any wonder they are granting them amnesty today?

Boko haram will not stop soon only until aggressive Laws are made and implemented:
*Provision of Basic western Education
*Ban the public use of burga
*Regulating the Activities and sermons of Imams
*Jettisoning Almajiri system totally
*Encouraging family planning amongst the locals
*Having Community policing but not must hand over every criminal to police for prosecution
*Empowering the courts for fair and swift despatch of justice
*Reducing the numbers that go for hajj and also monitoring their movement

This was said by one and only man who has soft spot for terrorists.

A man who pampers, pardons, rehabilitate and reintegrate terrorists into the society.

A man who Boko Haram terrorists picked as their mediator.

Buhari does not want to kill BH. Any action that substantially ‘degrades’ BH means wholesale death of his brothers. The odd one or two BH deaths here and there no problem. But extermination of his brothers? Nah.

He is very angry with these ‘mercenaries’ for what they did under GEJ

Jonathan was so clueless he couldn't make our army strong enough to confront BH.
He had to hire mercenaries.

Our army are strong and gallant, they've degraded BH by 80%, the rest of the 20% too will be crushed Insha Allah. The unfortunate death of those farmers is a big set back for the fight against terrorism. May the Almighty Allah rest their souls.

BTW, Were the mercenaries around when BH was bombing Kano, Kaduna, Abuja, Kogi?

Why are you afraid of saying the real solution that you want to proffer?

All what you have stated can be summarised under one sentence: Ban islam as it is being practised in northern Nigeria.

NO! The last was the beginning. They had earlier used the insurgents to make 9ja ungov'ble during GEJ but, the monster have grown with a deadliest clout, hence d need to start eating up their crumbs.
