These are young men and women (Civilian JTF) that suppose to be in schools or their business places, like any other Nigerian, but because of the nature of where they found themselves, they joined Civilian JTF to fight against Boko Haram insurgents.

in the light of this obvious failure of governance at the center, isnt it obvious that a decentralized/restructured Nigeria is better than the current structure we are practicing?

Am seeing assault rifles in some of the pictures. If it where a particular section of this country that it's youths are carrying assault rifles (that if the police even allows them ) to protect themselves, we would have been hearing various grammar from the Fed

A country where you pay Vigilante to secure you, buy fuel to provide power for yourself, pay so much for hospital when Sick (no health insurance), pay job men to patch your street road, pay a private school for quality education of your kids, dig borehole to provide water for yourself,

Tell me how you can be proud of such a country.

Youths started forming these vigilante groups in June, 2012 in Maiduguri - the capital of Borno State and former seat of BH’s leadership - when they became fed up with BH’s incessant killings.

CJTF members patrol the streets armed with machetes, bows and arrows and sticks, identifying BH suspects, whom they turn in to the government security Joint Task Force (JTF). At times they also attack or even kill suspects themselves. Once a self-organized group, most members now receive US$113 per month from the Borno State government.
After all this you will still contacts your brothers in the bush, you this double agent..... Fulani people cannot be trusted..

If they can buy arms for Boko Haram why not buy for the young men protecting their homes.

They are just trying to balance equation.

Good thing to defend your territory,, but make this empowerment of youths with arms no go turn another thing. My thoughts though

Let it turn to anything. It can never be as bad as boko haram.

My only fear is the type of gun they are suppose to use in engaging boko haram. This is a suicide mission
