What Is Responsible For The Increase Of Prostitution In Nigeria? by LagosAirport: 2:52pm On Dec 05, 2020
The art of selling or trading sex for money and for other benefits is perhaps a one of the oldest trade known across societies. Atimes it is considered immoral and sometimes it is considered as a tolerated act.

Since 2016 I have been observing one very strange phenomenal which is the spike in increase of women into sex trade. I kid you not even men are now into this trade without hiding it.

What could be responsible for such high increase in the number of both genders in this trade? It beats my understanding. Could it be the Nigerian economy or perhaps the access to trade sexperience on the internet and social media??

Where there is poverty, sexual immorality will surely abound. Nigeria is a country with a population of over 200 million, yet less than 10% of that population, cannot boast of living above $1 a day. So for obvious reasons, sexual immorality will rise. Another reason for the sudden increase may be attributed to western influences. Some Nigerian youth(especially teenagers) want to feel "among " or better still " americanized ". They feel that dressing half-naked and having "quickies " is a signs being americanized.

Laziness I think. Yesterday I saw a guy going to meet a voluptuous lady who was about stopping a bike. So he finally got her attention and the next thing I saw was exchange of phone numbers. The lady apparently was wearing some revealing clothes so I decoded she should be a runs girl. The guy went back to meet his guys who were now hailing him for successful collection of phone number.

I just laughed and reasoned to myself. This world, we celebrate what we should be running away from. Who knows that girl can be a destiny killer, reducing a man's worth to nothing.

Hunger.

Girls living above their means.

Fornication and immorality is too exalted in our society.

Go to the village now adays, small girls of 13 and above are getting pregnant.

The society morals and norms seem abysmal.

Re: What Is Responsible For The Increase Of Prostitution In Nigeria? by Tony142: 4:51pm On Dec 05, 2020
the answer to your question is

1. Greed
2. Laziness

do not worry I will explain

job = 30k monthly

1hr sex = 30k per day

a girl will prefer to have sex with a rich guy for 30k for 1hr than to work for that the same 30k for a month, this is were laziness comes in, she think it is easier to make 30k through sex than through job

so, if she can make 30k per night from different rich guy now calculate the amount she will make a month, this is were greediness comes in

lower class prostitute charge 1k per client, so if she have 5 client per night, that will be 5k, now 5k x 30days = 150k

an average prostitute will prefer to make 150k monthly through sex than to work for 30k monthly job

some people will say it is because Nigeria economy is bad that is why there is prostitution, my brother who tell u say prostitute no they for America? there are prostitute in USA, UK, London , Germany e.t.c so, prostitution is not because of unemployment but because they want to make more money with less stress and less time

na Greed and laziness they cause am

For reasons unknown the demand may have increased. Sex is one activity humans of both genders crave. Those unfortunate to not learn the proper skills needed choose to pay to get it.

I blame pornography.

It kindles a fire in man and an opportunity to a lady.

Watch porn and see your hormones rise like yeast(men)
Watch porn and see the prospect of the holes under(women).

Their services will always be available as long as demand exist for it.

It has little or nothing to do with poverty in some cases....

Excellent observation. A lot of women especially in metropolitan cities like Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcort, Owerri among others are now fast taking to prostitution as a means of livelihood.
Most of them employ the use of social media apps like Tinder, Inmessage, coded Runs and numerous others to practise their trade.
A lot of them even encourage would be patrons to go straight to the point while others clearly state that they are not in these apps to seek relationship outside of hookup.

Beyond moral decadence, it is possible that poverty could also be a major factor that is fuelling the ncrease in the rate of prostitution.

For instance, there has been marked increase in the number of women seeking patronage this end of year period and we know the usual buying frenzy that is usually associated with the yuletide, hence the need for more money to spend and prostitution is usually the firt port of call in the absence of other means of livelihood.

Much as one would often want to feel pity for these girls due to the dangers of exploitation,, there is however an element to their trade that leaves you bewildered as to the real motives why a lot of women are fast taking to prostitution.

For instance, the exorbitant fee being charged most times above the minimum wage is an indication that the agenda is much further from the need to provide basic necessities and bothers on greed and avarice.

Whatever the case, the trend doesnt seem to be slowing despite the faux indignation by a lot of people in the society, especially those in authority.
