As a child, we ran all around this very general hospital at Ogurute, Enugu Ezike in the mid 80s, we could go fetch water there, go to see friends and relatives there, or just go and play. Theres this old hall there where we went to hunt and trap birds.

I also have very sad memories of this hospital around same period, this was where my father was rushed to when he first fell sick. He had a doctor friend there who tried his best to stabilise him before transferring him to another hospital, he died about 10 days later.

This life.

The Project is a PPP between the State government and a Chinese firm.

It is a free trade zone and located in 9th Mile corner.


It is Bigger than Victoria Island in Lagos

But......

Little has been done there

Ugwuanyi has NEVER started any estate in Enugu except in Nsukaa! Shame on you for claiming Heliu or even Jedidiah as Ugwuanyi's estates. Yes, he was Governor when they were built. But what was his contribution in helping land acquisition of even providing access roads for new developers to come to Enugu? == ZERO!

Tomorrow, i can also see Buhari claiming he built the estates in Enugu because he was President when people built it to address housing deficit and he contributed ZERO to the effort to make it happen. Look at the NEW Estates in ESHDC website and tell me how many fully owned Government ones have come into reality since Ugwuanyi's tenure? http://eshdc.org/

I'm not a politician neither am here to praise anybody,but believe me when I say that ugwuanyi is the best governor Enugu ever had,those who think ugwuanyi is not working are those who think that Enugu state started and ended at the metropolis..... Try visiting the rural area and see wonders...both the roads construction and rural development... Other past governors only focused at the metropolis and abandoned the rural areas,so many think they are doing great,while the rural areas are nothing to write about.... Take uzo uwani and isi uzo as an instance.

The thread died with the exit of Chime! The odd occassion when we do see something happening, it's all wheelbarrow and headpan projects!

I've seen recent vidoes of those estates built during the time of Chime. Estates that were looking neat and landscaped are now looking neglected, rundown, scruffy, unkempt and the once neat and landscaped green spots are now littered with trash and overgrown with weeds!
