this naija idea of breaking sim is useless. If anything goes wrong. The sim will be traced to u. Instead go to their off and tell them u are no more using it

Maybe only in the north you can get that, cos I don't understand where the recycling is coming from.

Most of them have registered the sim in their own names and they go through the motions of taking your picture and fingerprints after which they tell you you have been registered.
Use Truecaller for the new sim and you never see your own name, but the name of the seller.

To avoid story, go to the mobile operator directly.

You are supposed to get a lawyer and sue mtn. Chai. See money making avenue being wasted
mtn doesn't own truecaller na. the fact that truecaller displays another person's name other than hers doesn't necessarily mean her SIM isn't registered in her name. it simply means truecaller's database hasn't updated the SIM identity.

In the first place, why will the communication company block a SIM card for not recharging. Must you force me to recharge? Same thing with the banks, they suspend your account because you don't have money to save. Nigeria really needs help.

People are just reacting over nothing.

It's normal for phone numbers to be recycled. It happens every where in the world.

A sim card will become inactive, stop working if not put inside a phone after 3 months.

If the owner doesn't act quickly, they'll offer the number for sale.

Phone numbers are recycled after some month of inactivity, IP addresses are reassigned in minutes.

The only issue is our police who seem not to understand that phone numbers aren't anybody's private property.

We are only renting the numbers - not buying them. Network providers pay billions of naira for these numbers - too much money to leave them unused.

All these cut and paste journalism is hard rubbish.

There is nothing wrong if the reporter buys a N200 sim and a present any Identity card to confirm if road side registration automatically activates the SIM.

Such experiment gives validity and credibility to the findings
after you "register" you then discover the line belongs to someone else. I received calls from one rude Yoruba aunty that night and she was convinced the number belongs to her nephew. This is a line I bought "new" less than 2 weeks ago. I decided to check the number on WhatsApp and discovered the number was registered and active on WhatsApp and the WhatsApp about was updated around June. Number I bought in November. Can you imagine?
Imagine if the original owner of the sim was kidnapped or killed or maybe the owner of the sim is a fraudster and EFCC are tracking the number? These people are so irresponsible and you can't even call their airtel customer care anymore

Nigerian problem can't be solve hundred years to this time, many people have more than 3 SIM some 4 some the moment they used it to borrow money or data they throw it away,as I am now I av 3 SIM not until I lost one of it I con get rest of mind so this kind of attitude is bad, atleast 1 sim is ok and if you are a business man or woman 2 is ok

Use Truecaller for the new sim and you never see your own name, but the name of the seller.

That's not how truecaller works. Truecaller does not have access to NCC, mtn, glo... portal or database.

When you install truecaller on your phone, it uploads all phone numbers on your contacts app - along with the names you saved them with.

The same happens with other phones with truecaller installed.

If 100 people save 08041941901 with the name Devil. And 20 people save the same number as Angel, then truecaller will show the name Devil.

So the more you use the line, the higher the chance that it'll outnumber and override the old name in truecaller.

Hi Nairalanders, we all know how hard the country is these days. As a result, we have been looking for various ways of making money both online and offline. But no one that has a sure way online is ready to help.

It was on this Nairaland when I was looking for how to make money that providence made me meet someone who introduced me to one trading platform where I registered with 1k and made over Two thousand naira on the first day.
The profit is huge and more than 100% and it is made every single night.

The person who introduced me made over Sixty thousand in three weeks.

How do we do it? There is a trading site, there is also a signal group on Telegram or WhatsApp. We receive signals from our leader on what to trade and the amount to stake, every trading session lasts for 3 minutes and trading takes place 24/7 but, we only trade for 1 straight hour in a day. That is 9 PM, but we usually get online at least 30 minutes before trading begins. The signals are too sure as we always win 80% of our trade. You are guaranteed of making profit every night and you can withdraw your money Mondays to Fridays 9AM-5PM. Even if the money means nothing to you, it can at least settle some little bills and get you out of being always broke. If you want to be making between 1000 to 3000 Naira or more every single night. If after registration you don't make any profit from the platform on your first day, I am ready to refund your 1k. Chat with me on WhatsApp 0.9.0.7.4.3.4.9.4.3.9 to know more on how to trade.

Well done sir......

Simple thing.

Why will the telecom operator activate a sim in the first place if the picture on the ID card provided for the sim registration does not match the one that was snapped. And before any sim will be registered applicant must provide a govt issued id card or one from a reputable firm for easy verification.

Shikena!

Telecom operators must be held reponsible for this irregularities.

This is the sim that criminal elements use.
As matter of urgency, all sims must be fully registered with full identify.
Secondly, network mast must be fitted wit gadget to identify location of callers, this wil check kidnapping
