Edo is the language and the writer said Edo, not Bini. Binis call Baba Epa but Esan call Baba aba or baba.

on a traditional note
what is the difference between Edo and Bini?

Imade is did not originated from Igodomigodo, ADE is a Yoruba word and it is used mostly as prefix or suffix in names just as imADE, ADEsua, ADEwole, ADElabu, orimolADE etc. Yorubas that migrated from Ife with Oranmiyan and they settle in Benin with Eweka the first that started the Obaship dynasty you people are just so funny with the way and matter you want to turn the history upside down.

Correct me, but doesn't ADE in Yoruba mean crown? In Edo it means "go" or "way" or "came". So ADEsuwa means born I came with wealth. ADEsogbe which is the name of the road leading to the Oba palace means way to ogbe (a community where the palace is)

In a plain Benin language.. esango doesn't mean anything in Benin... They are simply borrowed words...

Olokun is said to mean goddess of the sea... But does sea mean okun or any of such in Benin

Ewe means goat... Male goat can also be called ewe-okpia

Yoruba -Oruko - he-goat
Ur obvuko means bad person in Benin

ovuko means male Goat In Ora In Edo.Thank you

You see why I hate Yoruba People?

Are you telling me Ibo people and south south don't have alot of words in common but yet both respect each other's self identify

I AM NOT YORUBA SND I CURSE ANYONE WHO CALL ME SUCH

there are lots of word that sound the same and me a the same thing in both Yoruba and igbo

why dont the yoruba claim igboland ?

even before oyinbo people come till now, the yorubas have been the one causing division in the south because of their tribal bigotness

they see other tribe in the south as nothing that is why the north use them as tool to destroy the South

until the Yorubas stop this their tribal supremacy problem, the south will never be united even if them share this country to north and south.

Let's not deceive ourselves. The similarities between these two tribes suggest they are very close relatives. And it is logical enough that the minority cannot establish the majority.

what is the meaning of Imade in Yoruba?
You can as well ask me what is the meaning of Idowu undecided I personally don't even know the literal meaning of Imade or Adesua in Yoruba, maybe some Yoruba with deep knowledge of names in Yoruba might know but what am saying which am 101% sure is that this are part of the influence not only the coming of Oranmiyan also the ages of intermariages btw Yorubas and the Aborigines of Igodomigodo birth. Let say Ile Ife + Idu/ Igodomigodo = Benin. I read one of your comments where you said Benin influenced Yoruba, I just laughed and I felt no need to reply because it will be going back and forth on this issues, I hope you are aware lots of Benins are bearing Femi as their names now right?? And with the way you Benin are going about trying to twist this things, there is every probability that the next 20-30 years we will see the Benin generation of that era claiming they own the name Femi and Yoruba adopted from them.

First of all, Yoruba is originally in reference to the Oyo empire and it was the name Hausa people called them (i.e. Oyoruba). Meaning an Ijebu man is Ijebu and Egba people are Egba.

Second of all, Edo was another empire and empires can comprise of different tribe of people who may not be the same. So, even the Benin empire of today can never lay claim of Ekiti or Ondo, even though they were part of the Benin empire. Even Bini and Esan people are different but know they have a history.

Third, the idea of calling people bastards to claim superiority is very weak. The British dismantled the empires and the Nigerian government cancelled history but that doesn't give you the right to insult people who you don't know.

Will this one make Nyesom Wike become president? Looool.

Wike is still searching for a bigger tribe to align his Ikwerre people with so as to help him become president of Nigeria.

You are correct Ade mean Crown/Royalty, I have read lots of articles on the Ogisos and the coming of Oranmiyan influences the land and the culture, that's why culture and language is dynamic. In this pics below are examples of name people bear in Edo, you will find Ade as prefix or suffix, even Adedoyin, Adetutu, Adesusu, AdesUWA. This simply shows a fusion between the Yorubas (Ife migrants) + Idu/Igodomigodo the Aborigines of that land.

Edo is originally Ado. Is from Yoruba words. Igodomigodo people cannot say d word Ado like d Yoruba does, they prefer to say Edo until this day.

All yorubas called the Edos "Ado" because is Ado that's meaningful
ado is the capital of ekiti.
read d ewi of ado are related to d oba of benin .
when d last oba died, heard they came to do some sacrifice in ado ekiti.

In Edo language, Imade is actuatually "Imadeyunuagbón" which means I did not fall to the expectation of the world.
