You may choose to play whatever kind of politics on this subject but the truth is that the North is not safer today when no one feels safe in most parts of the region. I was born and brought up in the North and know exactly what is on ground in most parts of the area.

Many people cannot go to the farm for fear of bandits (mostly Fulani herdsmen) and kidnappers. A lot of silent killings ongoing such that government feels ashame (unease) to admit / publicize.

Let anybody interpret this as he/she likes, the truth is that crime rate in the North is increasing and so worrisome. While government seems to be doing nothing (or at best little) to turn the tide. Its very unfortunate.
