You know what they say about a customer being king, sounds cliche, but in this social media generation- you’ll be amazed at how one critic's single tweet can cause a business huge loss.

I like to give service providers a very long rope because I know how hard it is doing business in Nigeria, but sometimes they will just make you very angry sha.

I used to be a huge fan of Dominos Pizza, but everytime I make an order via their app, they misplace my order. I would call to make the order manually, it’ll still take them another 24hrs to rectify it (i.e) they fulfill the order the next day. They’ll claim they were trying to confirm the credit. I got angry and never went back.

What started as a boycott, graduated into healthy-eating. I passed by Dominos today and realized it has been months I went there or ate their pizza.

Have you ever had to boycott a business? What made you take that decision?

......MTN and First Bank, reason was due to bad customer relationship...

I broke my MTN sim and moved to 9mobile. I also closed my First Bank account and migrated to Zenith Bank..

They took my kindness for granted and I boycotted them, when they didn't see me for a couple of weeks they started calling my line with numerous text messages, the CEO of the company.

they actually lost a huge customer, I despise people who thinks they are smart and clever, if you want money from me why not ask, instead of using a cunny way, to think I was the one that referred people to them, just to make sure they make it big, human beings are so ungrateful. when the calls was much, I broke my sim and threw it away, thank God it wasn't my official SIM because the CEO of the company dosen't have it, I'm sure they must have regretted their silly actions

I boycott anyone that tells me "DM for price". I nor dey do secret cult business.

Anytime I see "DM for price", my brain interprets it as SCAM. If you're not offering a service, then your price should be stated.

Fanta Don Cool ooo!

And that was it.

There was this shop very close to our own shop when I was an apprentice. I used to go there every afternoon to buy Fanta. Lunch without fanta was always incomplete.

So I was just passing my own jejely with a friend on this particular day when the shop owner called out from inside.

"Dogo Fanta don cool oo"

I smiled and I said okay but inside I was like "eeh! So unah don take Fanta know me?"

That was the last they saw me.

ANOTHER ONE

There was a restaurant that I used patronize on days that I don't feel like cooking. I will just stop by to buy food and take home after closing from shop.

The waitresses there have this annoying habit of asking make I keep the change. I got tired of saying NO and stopped going there

“I don’t have transport fare”

“Hope you’ll give me something”

I don’t waste time to halt and terminate any business I have with you immediately you used these lines on me.

This is very annoying. I love tipping, but once you start showing entitlement, I STOP.

I went somewhere yesterday to do my facials and there was a notice pasted at every right angle. It was boldly typed in red fonts; “NO TIPPING IN ***

I wondered what would make a business put up such notice. Na because of nonsense like this o.

Me and you know the most lucrative business a Naija girl can venture into without any capital. But, let’s pretend like we are naive now.

The last one I had was with one Air freight company

They sent me a message that my items had arrived. I called and they confirmed. I had to buy dollar at a high rate just to pay them

Showed up and they started saying it shortlanded and blah blah blah. They even went as far as blocking my number when I call

I waited an extra 3 weeks, collected my items, and that was the end.

In summary, I hate people who make a transaction look like they are doing you a favour.

Once you bring that attitude, I end it

I boycotted my favorite TOTAL Gas Station since my IMAM told us not to buy from Total again because President Macron said "Islamic Extremists" instead of just "Terrorist" after a righteous teenager decapitated a teacher for Haram.

Allah knows best. Allahu Akbar !
Just becos IMAM told you ? shocked

It is not lame, I created a thread on it HERE. Many people are actually put off by it. But I think for you to say you boycotted a business, you should have had previous dealings with the business.

I work with two good looking guys on my team, because I am their team lead .They always have a way of making me buy them breakfast at our popular hot buka joint .

When we get to this joint the female waiters always find a way to flirt and roll all their body for my male colleagues. Sometimes I even have to beg them to take my order because they get carried away in their flirting activities. They don't know that on this table of three I am the moneybag when it comes to that breakfast.

I had to boycott that buka joint because the same thing kept repeating itself.I cannot come and be begging on top my own hard earned money.

Any business that saw the need to add “God” to its business name is a dangerous one. grin

This is really nice, motivates them to do the job.

Subtle sexism at play. It is assumed the man is always the one paying, so he gets the attention grin

I can imagine how annoying that was for you. cheesy

Probably I was not satisfied by the service rendered, having given the service provider benefit of doubt two to three more times.
I was using a platform for bulk SMS a while back, but then DND happened and this bulk SMS firm couldn't find a way around it.

I trust you won't boycott mine. I do architectural design/drawings of varying building type well and thoroughly, and also get them professionally stamped and signed to be delivered to your location.

Probably DHL. They will tell you a product has arrived, next moment it's actually in Poland. You'll begin to call, they don't even have a number that goes through in Nigeria. You see all those numbers online? All fake. Endless Suspense. Really bad way to do business.
