I understand the restriction part but not sure why a GFV violation should result in a ban since it's all about settlement of the funds.

A good faith violation occurs when you buy a security and sell it before paying for the initial purchase in full with settled funds. Only cash or the sales proceeds of fully paid for securities qualify as "settled funds."

Pls oh, has anybody successfully registered with Trading 212 within the last two weeks or is anybody aware of any current restriction on Nigerian residents?

thanks,but I have not sold it yet they only warning me and I bought it with settled fund

The second paragraph was info I saw online explaining GFV. The way I understand it (I could be wrong) is that if there is enough cash in the trading account, then a GFV should not come up in the first place.

You cannot simply buy and sell same stock on the same trading day more than twice within 5 trading days. For example: if you buy say AAPL today, you can not sell it today and buy it again today.

You can do this type of buy & sell transaction only twice within 5 trading days.

Honestly, it is on trove. I tried having a enough cash balance for the trade and it still gave me a warning. That's how I lost the planned gains for the day.

I'll try this twice in 5TDs thing and see how it goes. Thanks

After seeing the sweetness & pains in DT, I have opted for active participation in addition to the regulars.

One issue am having here is when is the right time to bail out... at the moment I set a minimum/maximum entry/exit, gain/loss.

I started with Bamboo & Chaka: holding everything their for the longterm.

T212: started with trading but I think I'm better off doing mid to long term things.

I think I am finally ready to take the plunge into this....
Looks like the T212 is stressful to open
I'll just most likely start out with the Nigerian fintech company

I made a small research
And I was reassured
That its relatively safe to invest with them

Opened bamboo

And have been test running
If not for the 1.5% fees
I like the interface
I hope they get to reduce the fees soon

I think I'll stick with index funds for now
Like VOO and VNQ and BLV

T212 will probably be opened later
