Hello Nairaland; I am Destine with my instagram handle as https://www.instagram.com/o.l.a.e.d.o_
I am in my 20s and I reside in Portharcourt, Nigeria though I studied in Enugu. I took it upon myself to travel to every single state in Nigeria; and though I am yet to achieve this dream, I am getting closer to achieving my dream. I have been to these states;

Lagos
Abuja
Niger
Bayelsa
Abia
Delta
Ebonyi
Edo
Nasarawa
Imo
Rivers (winks)
Kogi
Anambra.

I have been to Benin Republic too! I look forward to travel to the far north; plans are still underway grin grin

I detail my journeys on my various experiences travelling across the breadth and length of Nigeria and one thing I have discovered is that though we are from various tribes in Nigeria, we are all pretty much the same. I have learnt to respect the opinions, belief and culture of the people I meet. Trust me, you have no idea how fun this country can be!

Check out my pictures and enjoy the scenery of the country we call home!

Abeg, make we hear word, you way dey travel for Corona virus shows you're well loaded, you that travel if you didn't tell us, how do will know you were travelling? How do you know others aren't. undecided
U are missing the point, travelling is not about being loaded, we are just not a tourist-oriented society, even for people to take their wives out to eat in a fancy restaurant looks like a waste of earnings to the average couples grin grin grin

Guara Falls in Niger state..

It was a 1hr 45mins road trip to Gurara from Abuja with friends. It was pretty easy to find, just put it into Google map and follow the directions.

Getting there, we paid a gate fee of #1,000 and we got a tour guide.

The views, My God!!! Videos don’t even do it justice. You need to visit in person. But I tried to bring some views to you, Enjoy

As you share the other beautiful sites of Nigeria I'm following closely like shadow but do allow me.to keep you in sight ! Don't let anyone break your spirit from going to the North. Free spirited people like you have Divine protection. Great pics.... refreshing and inspiring thread!

P.S... just curious... what was the conversation with the ostrich about?... I suspect it had to do with leggggs.

See, nigerians are one of the people on this earth that likes chilling in any little way they can.
Some Nigerians can go for other purposes like school, work or programs but with the little they have they will use that opportunity for pleasure purposes.
Is just that Nigerian economy is quite rough at the moment, if it were during oil boom, na wa oh people dey chill then go back to work.
Didn't you see those returnees from UK that were stocked during COVID-19 in the UK, Nigerian government came to their rescue because some of them went for tourist visit and the tourists visa has elapsed.
According to some returnees during pre Covid-19 went for tourism.
You can save up yes.
Imagine the Nigerians paying huge fees in dollars in neighboring Ghana, medicine 10,000 dollars, law students same, etc
You see them in their numbers very many not to talk of traveling and chilling abroad.

Nice one, I once met a lady too who toured the whole of west Africa by land, it was a nice adventure seeing her pictures, memories and trips. Now I have seen two female nairalanders who love nature, adventures, and they go for it, I have some other goons too on Twitter who love same, saved up before Corona dealt a heavy blow, I love nature and their beauties too, hopefully I can complete some tours with my partner someday before chid bearing.....

Traveling is good
it expands your horizon and make u familiar with other areas of which u wouldnt be familiar with if u just buried urself in ur village
kudos op cheesy
i wouldnt even know their places that look cool and serene like that in naija cos all we are used to is noise, refuse littering the whole area and bad roads
at least someone can take nice photo shots in such environment instead of going to shoprite and mr biggs or hotels to snap pics since those are the only fine places in nigeria cheesy
once again kudos and am also impressed u as a lady can sponsor yourself and travel without waiting for some man to foot the bill.

Who is bankrolling you on these journeys?

Man of God. Can't she have her own money again? A woman can't enjoy herself except its due to a man? Meaning the only decent ladies are those ones suffering that can't post such, and you guys would still insult them for being broke!

Why are some guys agbayas sometimes sha.....it is well.....
