I was excited about this trip because it would be my first time in a “remote” Yoruba state. I had a program to attend there, the empowerment program of an NGO I volunteer for.

My trip was to Ijebu-jesa

Ijebu-jesa is the capital of Oriade Local Government area in Osun State of Nigeria.

It is a commuter city with connections to Ekiti State on one side, Ondo State on another and it has a border with the famous Ilesa the surrounding towns area Iwoye-jesa, Iloko-jesa, Ere and Ijeda. Ijebu-jesa which hitherto before now was known and called Ijebu Egboro is the ancient historic town in the east of Osun State, Nigeria occupies a strategic position in Ijesaland. In Ijesa division, it is the next most important town politically and in term of history . Her Oba is the next to the Owa Obokun of Ijesaland.

Barely into the journey, we had a little accident and it got me disoriented. However, it was a short trip as promised. Took us about 3-4hrs. Traffic and time wasted after a little accident.

You're a very silly girl but this thread reminds me of why I like your persona, especially that part where you listed your take on the trip.

There's something about older men that trips me as well and it's not far from your description of the Oba. They are usually well spoken, well comported and distinguished in their carriage/manner.
