are you dumb? What do you mean “they even gave it a name”? So dating and relationship is not a thing to you? Did your father just meet your mother and marry her the next day? They had a period of “courtship” first. That is what is called “dating” in other words. And yes One of the purposes of dating is to test compatibility. That can include sex or not, it’s up to the people involved, but don’t tell me people shouldn’t date before they marry. That’s how you end up in a disaster marriage.

Arranged marriages are some of the most successful marriages if done right. The women grow to love their husbands. I remember when I was 11 yrs old, my wealthy uncle wanted one of his hard working boy boy to marry his only child and daughter who was American trained but the boy boy had no formal education. The girl refused but her father insisted because he saw potential in him. Fast forward 20 yrs later, the man is one of the richest men in my village, very wealthy. This woman that didn't like him then, grew to love this man and don't play with him. She thanks her late father for insisting she married him.

U are just quoting one instance.Do u know that a couple living together doesnt mean they are happy.Some just stay cos of d kids and their parents.My ex-gf is also a victim of arranged marriage.10yrs down the line with 3kids,she regrets ever marrying her man.Always advising me to court any girl i intend to marry and not follow her footsteps.So arrangee is a 50-50 situation pls.

This is very true! I personally know several people that were in an arranged marriage and they didn't meet many times before the actual wedding, but are very happy together till today. My nephew got married like that too. His father hooked him up with a lady and they met only once before marriage, but where communicating on phone. If you see them today, they are serious lovebirds. I can remember thinking what his father was doing was so wrong and backward and how it was a disaster waiting to happen, but obviously I was very wrong. I spoke to my nephew recently and he was full of praises for his wife. he said the way the relationship happened made him know his wife in-depth through phone since they were not seeing each other, they only had phone to communicate with. if they had been seeing, they would have concentrated more on the physical/sexual things without really getting to know each other, and as you know once sex is involved commonsense flies away through the roof. They've been married for 7 years now.
