I guess our governor's are on Nairaland. I talked about it here and some people were laughing thinking it was a Joke ..

https://www.nairaland.com/6314830/lagos-state-sw-nigeria-deserves

The number of people that come into Lagos state everyday is about 7,000. Most are not coming to buy goods, but to make Lagos their new home.

According to senator Adeola, "the resources of Lagos state government cannot adequately cater for the population and the pressure on amenities arising out of the status of the state as an acknowledged mega city with a population of over 20 million Nigerians"

I think the Federal Government simply exploits and abandon lagos state.

Lagos state deserves special status, If lagos state can't get it. Then the federal government should create a Development commission for South West also. Nigerian revenues  comes from two sources, the oil and non-oil revenue. South west Nigeria generates 80 to 90% of the Non oil revenue income. We also deserve something special. We are too civil to get what we want through violence,  we all know what gave birth to NDDC and NEDC . The South west leaders should continue to push Lagos special Status they shouldn't give up, because the mass Migration to SW is alarming.  The negative impacts of migration has outweighed the positive impact.  Starting from Pressure on public services such as schools, housing and healthcare,  Overcrowding and pollution , crime, Increased pressure on budget.

If the federal Government fails to give Lagos the special status it deserves, Lagos and the whole of SW should come together and send back those jobless travellers.

Infact, the rate of population explosion in Oyo state over the last one year is alarming. This is putting undue pressure on our facilities, education, security, budget etc

The thing is, most of those flat headed bastards are not even grateful, they will still do everything possible to bring us down.

It's high time Yorubas stop acting like a father Christmas and do the needful.

You read my mind, Yorubas are too big not to have an airline. Do we want to say we don't have at least one rich man in the Yoruba land that can take up this business?

It seems their eyes are not opened to the aviation sector at the moment.

This is a very good move, after this the next step should be Ondo leaving the NDDC. The East should also take this initiative, and clamour for the South East Development Commission, so that Imo and Abia can leave the NDDC.

At last the Niger Delta can be on its own.

Which south east , those cowards ....

All they know is to proscribe IPOB

No problems so long as the funding of the commission will be from the proceeds of resources in their region.

We the Niger Delta people are tired of feeding a whole bunch of ungrateful people.

I tell you bro, we deserve a country of our own. We can't continue funding every other part of the country, we deserve some level of autonomy.

The Niger Delta and the North East already had one before this idea was conceived.

There is nothing wrong in having a regional development commission as funding might be the problem as most states in Nigeria have been cultured to collect stipend from the federal government.

Therefore, if the regional commission will be sourcing funds from crude oil producing states or vat generating states like Lagos state then there is a problem.

That is why regions should be planning to develop their agricultural potentials and also go into solid mineral exploration.

Zamfara state with Gold deposit should step up their effort to bring the expert from countries like south africa, Australia to guide the state in its exploration effort.

I hope too, we are too big not to have a Yoruba National carrier, even Kenya that is not up to us both in Population and even in economic size has her own Airways. The Economy of Lagos alone is bigger than that of Kenya, now imagine when we had that of Ogun and other Yoruba states, we are more than Capable. This should be part of Yoruba common wealth, even Yoruba abroad can have bonds and investments in it, if the state governors are not thinking of putting money in it.

Do you also know the amount of money the Federal government generates from Lagos port, Oyo border, Ogun border?

do you know the amount of money Fg generates from Ondo cocoa?

do you know the amount of money Fg generates from Oil in Ondo state?

do you know the amount Fg generates from Osun gold?

Or is it All the South South states that produces oil?

As long as FG continues to generate money from each region, then dey deserve to be fed with the proceeds from the region.

Don't mind them, the Money and taxes coming from Ogun state alone will fund the Yoruba National Airways (YNA), even an individual like Mike Adenuga can establish it but I do not want it to be individual driven, I want it to be a common wealth and heritage of we the Yorubas

The airline industry is one full of hiccups, this year alone it's barely surviving, let's leave that for the private sector to handle, one aspect we should consider is agriculture; let more farming estates be created by state governments with Amotekun acting as security for those estates....the population of the region is growing crazily by the day, people will need food while the north is already covertly preparing for restructuring by pumping money into their agric sector, we can't continue to depend on all food products from them, agriculture has the potential to enrich the region and create new millionaires and farming is the way of our fathers...we only need to modernize it.
