Good day, Please I’m a Physics Education Graduate with TRCN Certification.
I am Waiting for The lockdown on schools to be lifted so I can complete my Masters in Educational Psychology. I just have my external defense left. I have more than 4 years as a physics teacher in Nigeria though in a private school and I have a year plus experience as an educational psychologist working with students.
Please how can I apply to the U.K. as A teacher and what do I need to help aid the process. Thank you.

A friend came to the UK on a Tier 4 visa in September and was randomly applying for some permanent roles to test the water and see how employable he is. Now he’s got a company that has the ability to sponsor him on a T2.
Is it possible to switch visa completely before the 3 months to the end of course rule? If he’s able to combine work and school, can he continue with the masters program while working full time on the Tier 2 visa?

Bad idea, to start with..he can't work full time during term time and the company will not even take him on that.

Let him speak to the company about his situation, ask them to allow him take up the employment after graduation.

He will be breaking his student visa rule if he takes up this employment while still on student visa

I'm surprised though that the company is even willing to employ him while still on student visa..maybe he did not give the company all the info.

Let him do things the proper way to avoid regret pretty soon.

Possible but ends up very expensive.....it better that ones prayer or ambition is to work after graduation and be able to use work route to get ILR. This is a more cheaper option as you are earning while achieving it

Yes. He will need to switch to Tier 2 (Probably has to leave the country and apply, I am not sure). He cannot take up the job when he has not finished his studies except if it's part-time(20hrs).
He can reenrol for his masters while working, as a part-time student.

Yes

One can actually switch visa at any point. If he does switch now, he can combine work/study on a Tier 2 (down to the company's decision as I doubt they will allow him study FT | Another option is to check if course can be converted to PT) and if company doesn't allow, he will obviously has to forfeit school payments.

As long as he meets the requirements of a skilled worker, I will advise he switches sharp sharp

ST 26.6. If a Student has permission and makes an application for permission to stay under the Skilled Worker route, supported by a Certificate of Sponsorship assigned by a licensed sponsor, the Student can start the employment for which the Certificate of Sponsorship was assigned, for up to 3 months prior to the course completion date, provided:
(a) the Student is studying a full-time course of study at degree level or above with a higher education provider with a track record of compliance; and
(b) the application as a Skilled Worker was made when the applicant had permission as a Student; and
(c) a decision has not been made on the Skilled Worker application, or where a decision has been made, any Administrative Review against a refusal has not been finally determined.
ST 26.7. A Student may be employed as a postgraduate doctor or dentist if they are on a recognised Foundation Programme.
ST 26.8. A Student may be self-employed, if:
(a) they have applied for permission on the Start-up route; and
(b) that application is supported by an endorsement from a Start-up route endorsing body which is a higher education provider with a track record of compliance; and
(c) the application was made when the applicant had permission as a Student; and
(d) a decision has not been made on the application, or where the application has been refused, any Administrative Review against a refusal has not been finally determined.

On the .gov site, it says if you’ve been here for up to 12 months, the proof of maintenance won’t be required. Has anybody gone through this route and can you confirm the process and requirements? same here, the rules are too much, they change every other year. sure thing is they are easily accessible to anyone that needs the latest update

It's not just because of COVID, the new guidelines say dependants can now switch in-country

Noticed there is a landline socket already in my apartment probably installed by the last tenant for BT, I have rang BT and they say they will have to re-set up the landline connection which will cost something like 70 pounds but they will waive it off when they are doing the broadband. This is just paraphrasing.
Pls what is the reason for landline and hope I won’t get bills sent to me for landline because I dnt think I would use it. Also is there anything else I need to know about this?

You need landline for your broadband except you go through virgin. They are the only provider with fibre to the home so you wouldnt need a landline.

Trust me, you wouldnt know your landline number or even use it all.
