RAD01:

ST 26.6. If a Student has permission and makes an application for permission to stay under the Skilled Worker route, supported by a Certificate of Sponsorship assigned by a licensed sponsor, the Student can start the employment for which the Certificate of Sponsorship was assigned, for up to 3 months prior to the course completion date, provided:
(a) the Student is studying a full-time course of study at degree level or above with a higher education provider with a track record of compliance; and
(b) the application as a Skilled Worker was made when the applicant had permission as a Student; and
(c) a decision has not been made on the Skilled Worker application, or where a decision has been made, any Administrative Review against a refusal has not been finally determined.
ST 26.7. A Student may be employed as a postgraduate doctor or dentist if they are on a recognised Foundation Programme.
ST 26.8. A Student may be self-employed, if:
(a) they have applied for permission on the Start-up route; and
(b) that application is supported by an endorsement from a Start-up route endorsing body which is a higher education provider with a track record of compliance; and
(c) the application was made when the applicant had permission as a Student; and
(d) a decision has not been made on the application, or where the application has been refused, any Administrative Review against a refusal has not been finally determined.

Thank you. Can I get the official documentation please, because this seems to follow my initial thoughts of not being able to switch visas even with a sponsor until 3months to the end of the program.

Bad idea, to start with..he can't work full time during term time and the company will not even take him on that.

Let him speak to the company about his situation, ask them to allow him take up the employment after graduation.

He will be breaking his student visa rule if he takes up this employment while still on student visa

I'm surprised though that the company is even willing to employ him while still on student visa..maybe he did not give the company all the info.

Let him do things the proper way to avoid regret pretty soon.

Thanks

Seems Tier 4 dey always get comma. Please refer to RAD01's last statement. Other visas can be switched at anytime. If company can't wait till he completes his studies, maybe he will have to apply from naija. Cheers

kode12:

Thanks. Do you have any links to where this rule is please? I'd like to send him to go through the official docs.

Good day everyone.
Pls I am back again.
Noticed there is a landline socket already in my apartment probably installed by the last tenant for BT, I have rang BT and they say they will have to re-set up the landline connection which will cost something like 70 pounds but they will waive it off when they are doing the broadband. This is just paraphrasing.
Pls what is the reason for landline and hope I won’t get bills sent to me for landline because I dnt think I would use it. Also is there anything else I need to know about this?
Thank you in advance.

Depending on where you are and your situation you might want to opt for a Mobile wifi deal especially if you're not looking to stay there long. And they're very flexible e.g 3, Smarty, EE

With cautious optimism, having a solid plan, and of course God’s favour, I believe most will make a success of the opportunity. Nigeria is already hard for the common man, I trust they will survive here, if they keep their eyes on the ball.
Thanks for sharing. Cheers
Please what opportunities are you guys talkin about here? Let me in, please.

Hello, please I need help. Came in to the Uk September with my family. Either myself or hubby wants to start driving ASAP..especially cause of school runs and moving about as a family. We came with international drivers license and we have a car to use but which insurance would you recommend that is flexible and more pocket friendly. Hoping to learn from your experience please. At least we can drive till license expires then do a few paid lessons later and test. Please advise. Thank you

Go on comparison sites like confused.com , moneysupermarket ,gocompare etc and get quotes after you put your details .
Just make the start date of the policy at least 2 weeks in advance to get cheaper options.

Feel free to call any insurance company. Don't get quotes online, call them.......

By the time you call a few, you might find one with a reasonable quote...............

Guys what are the possible scenarios that one can use to achieve this 10yrs long residency thing. Let’s assume the person is starting with a Student visa (undergraduate)....

No insults pls and I hope justwise won’t take down my post because this has nothing to do with cheating a system or being fraudulent.

Do 2 years Masters
Get 2 years post study visa.
This is legit 4 years...

On your 2rd year of post study visa, you apply for another. If it's Master's, you have 2 years for study plus another two years... Post study visa.

If you decide to do PhD, you will have 3 years post study visa instead of 2.

This will be running into legit 8 to 9 years

You might want to get married and be your wife's dependant.

I read here that once you has post study you had it for life ..... that the second master or phd wont come with post study.

Not sure how accurate that is because I havent officially gone to read the guidelines but I remember seeing that comment on the student thread

The post-study period doesn't count towards settlement.

If you arrived in September you might want to get a provisional licence soonish and start planning towards getting the full one - the theory tests are all booked up till May 2021 already.

It doesnt for 5 years pathway but does for 10 years pathway.

For 10 years settlement pathway all time spent in UK Counts

I think it depends on the test center. Where I am, there are available slots from Feb.

Not sure about UK as well, but 100% sure about canada. Once you’ve had it after your study, you’ve had it for life regardless of how many more masters or PhD you acquire.

I believe rules and guidances will be published soon regarding psw. Fingers crossed* cheesy
